Brian - You said the January 6th protesters were a "gun toting mob". I am not aware of anyone that was arrested were "toting" a gun. If anything it was a mob of 2nd Amendment enthusiast that forgot to bring their guns to an insurrection. Many of these protesters were allowed to enter the capital in the full presence of the Capitol Police and were unopposed. These men and women were arrested and some sentenced to up to 4 years in prison for unlawful entry. That was the biggest crime of January 6th.

My humble suggestion for how we fight back against capitalism is that we collectively stop funding the worst aspects of it... namely industries that rely on exploitation and slavery. These include animal agriculture, electronics, fashion, jewelry, companies invested in Israhell, and so on. If capitalism can't profit off of the foundation of its structure, the most disenfranchised beings on earth, then it will collapse and we can simply build a system that rewards cooperation and functions without hierarchy. We don't need everyone to boycott those industries, either, just a sizable minority, as it would make their profits fall and force them into bankruptcy.

But people who try to play China, the USSR, Venezuela, Cuba etc off as "socialist" aren't trustworthy when they talk about socialism, because they represent the ones who merely try to change rulers INSTEAD OF fundamentally change the economic AND POLITICAL systems to be foundationally, literally democratic. They aren't wrong about capitalism and fascism, and just like so many others their critiques are on-point, but I don't trust them on socialism and communism. we go from "divine right of kings" to this idea of "each man is his own king", but the question remains "king of what"? this is the insidiousness of 'private property' rights. ownership of humans, ownership of the means of production. this distinction is where the subjugation of populations was diffused into "individualism" which conservatives and liberals alike can stand behind without addressing the initial theft of land and appropriation of "ownership". there is no argument to refute this failing of logic - individualism is as morally bankrupt as monarchy because they both rely on arbitrary ownership. conservatives don't bother to address it, and lilberals address it by saying "after the fact, we'll enforce equity". this leaves the door open for conservatives to point out, correctly, that hypocrisy, while liberals will point, again correctly, to the conservative embrace of subjugation. this is our current world order.

Brian - You said the January 6th protesters were a "gun toting mob". I am not aware of anyone that was arrested were "toting" a gun. If anything it was a mob of 2nd Amendment enthusiast that forgot to bring their guns to an insurrection. Many of these protesters were allowed to enter the capital in the full presence of the Capitol Police and were unopposed. These men and women were arrested and some sentenced to up to 4 years in prison for unlawful entry. That was the biggest crime of January 6th.

My humble suggestion for how we fight back against capitalism is that we collectively stop funding the worst aspects of it... namely industries that rely on exploitation and slavery. These include animal agriculture, electronics, fashion, jewelry, companies invested in Israhell, and so on. If capitalism can't profit off of the foundation of its structure, the most disenfranchised beings on earth, then it will collapse and we can simply build a system that rewards cooperation and functions without hierarchy. We don't need everyone to boycott those industries, either, just a sizable minority, as it would make their profits fall and force them into bankruptcy.

When people like THIS talk about "socialism" I have little to no confidence that he means the same thing I do. We need literal democracy, not just the same format but with socialist aesthetics as so many movements did and still claim is socialism. We don't get to that by voting, we get to that by organizing communities around democracy so that 1) practicing literal common democracy becomes a normal thing that people learn to see as viable, 2) communities can organize into groups of communities that practice democracy together (such as how the Zapatistas do it), and 3) a movement of democratic communities can replace the NEED for a state, and over time actually overtake and dismantle it. Whether or not an actual revolution happens, the foundation of democracy must be there before so that it can be understood and practiced after, and so that the people know what they should expect so that if they don't GET it they can overthrow whoever tried to merely change rulers. Through democracy. But people who try to play China, the USSR, Venezuela, Cuba etc off as "socialist" aren't trustworthy when they talk about socialism, because they represent the ones who merely try to change rulers INSTEAD OF fundamentally change the economic AND POLITICAL systems to be foundationally, literally democratic.
They aren't wrong about capitalism and fascism, and just like so many others their critiques are on-point, but I don't trust them on socialism and communism. I don't want party rule, no matter what the party claims to stand for, no matter what the party calls itself, no matter how the party's propaganda tells me that it "truly" represents me and the rest of the proletariat.

I did not catch the definition of fascism used in this video and while I agree the framing of democracy vs fascism is bull, I do think that Trump very well fits into the definition I use which is a hyper-nationalist movement that strictly polices an in-group out-group hierarchical structure on society which seems consistent with most definitions I come across.
