Although the plot and story were not great, it's actually one of the most memorable early comics of Batmans rebirth series for me. Epic action and bad assery.

Such an amazing voice actor that it’s a shame that he isn’t hired and well known as some of the most ranged and varied VA amateur ever. He deserves a chance to actualy voice act for animation and other such superhero stuff

That was a ride to sit through. I probably dont read enough comics because part of me kept hoping that batman would wake up and this was just more fear toxin nightmares, but then the waking up never happened. Amazing story and great video, you do a great job of reading the dialogue.
I'm not as knowledgeable with Batman in the comics like most are but does it seem like Batman gets his ass kicked a lot in New 52 and Rebirth.

The older I get the more sentimental I get about things like age, diseases, love. In my twenties I would have seen Batman dying of old age in a bed and just rolled my eyes. But now..? My heart legit breaks for them.

If Bane hadn’t gone full Aizen and taken credit for everything being a part of his plan, and if Flashpoint Thomas Wayne hadn’t been ruined, AND if there wasn’t so much fillet (looking at you, Nightmare Arc), it could’ve been a pretty okay run.
Yeah, but that was half of the freaking run...it feels like at some point King stopped writing Batman and started writing a reboot of Kickass.
All this was to get Bruce stop being Batman but if that was the case wouldn't NOT ruining his life so Batman is literally the only thing left help more.

The WW Crossover also sucked. The Horde is everlasting said repeatedly by both of them was irritating as hell to read. There were two good bits in that for me. Bats and WW mocking Clark for always saying Up Up and away cute little anecdote and Bruce saying that he misses his dog because that would me lol.

C'mon now you really think Omega Men, Mister Miracle, Vision, Grayson etc are bad now because you didn't like King's Batman and HiC? To say he's a bad writer is simply untrue.
I get not liking the run but to insinuate that King is a bad writer is laughable at best his good work far outweighs his one bad run.
The story was great, until it kicked me square in the feels. It's easy to forget that beneath the tough exterior, Damien is just a little boy. It was absolutely heartbreaking seeing him so hurt by "Pennyworth's" murder. It hit WAY too close to home, for me. Now, I have to go watch comedies, for the rest of the day.

I thought that this story line was pretty ok. Could have done with less, “I WANT TO BREAK YOUR BACK!” And it was a bit odd that Batman was completely emotionless when the joker was killing people in the church. Enjoyed it tho.
There were definitely a lot of weird writing choices that made me enjoy this run a lot less.
One thing I couldn't stand was some of the Catwoman+Batman scenes. The dialogue was so weird in those.

There are some holes for me between the Thomas v Bruce and Catwoman finding him again.
While his run is divisive I like most of it because some of it mimic my personal life couple years ago, it showed a vulnerable and mentally unfit at times Batman, and gave us a starting point for James Tyion to takeover.
Joker and cat woman's little talk was weirdly wholesome

I think the only issue from Tom King's run I actually genuinely liked was I think Issue 54? It was that one were Bruce and Alfred was trying to Bond with Dick. It's also one of the issues where they tried to undo the short tenure between Robins in that the New 52 tried to pull. It seemed like a nice wholesome issue. Bruce almost seemed somewhat hopeful using Chum a lot as a throw back to their older ages dynamic.

Man my favourite character besides Batman is Alfred I need someone like him in my life a true friend and father mentor family he is the true meaning of unconditional love he loved Bruce so much that he supported him all his life he is a great man in my eyes and he is my favourite because of that
I wanted to add, it’s nice to hear a comic story that does not involve the multiple universe ending, or end of everything, all life ending. Simple -Good guy vs bad guy. I really enjoyed it.

Well, Bane's introduction saw him break Batman's back after wearing him down by releasing the inmates of Arkham Asylum onto the streets of Gotham.

It took me three whole days to watch this split up over different times I was working, and all I have to say is when Bruce was on the beach he looked like Dale Earnhardt

I wish the Amalgam universe made a amalgamation of Bane and Venom since both are the big tanky villains of their respective hero characters and both use a liquid substance called venom to get giant and buff. And Banes mask combined with venom would be badass since they are pretty similar so you’d have Banes mask but with venoms mouth and tongue

I've read most of Tom King's run. You're not missing anything. The Thomas Wayne story-line was awful. Even the crossover with him and WW sucked. If I had to read The Horde is everlasting one more damn time. I felt like tearing the comic apart. Cat, Bat, Cat, Bat. I don't understand that atoll they've never talked like that.
The best story in this run I think was when Bruce & Selena, Clark & Lois went on a double date and switched costumes.
@TheVirusSoftware That's one thing I've noticed about Tom King writing. he's really good at a short 10/12 issue story-line but after that it seems to fall apart. His Mister Miracle was great. His Superman Up in the sky was also good. His Marvel Vision story was good too.

I'm sorry, but as someone that knows what the fastest man alive can do. There is no way he would lose to Thomas Wayne Batman since Thomas isn't as smart as Bruce, nor as tactical. Barry would slap him around before he could do anything. Especially, knowing that it isn't Batman. Gotham Girl couldn't touch him without using up the rest of her life, so I would imagine that if Barry heard about this, he would slap everyone in Gotham's head back right.

Man... any wholesome issue with the whole bat family is endearing... From the current wife vs ex wife tandem of Talia and Selina... to the brotherly bonds of the robins... to the love between bruce and selina... very heartwarming if only it lasted happily

I think after Rebirth an extra 10 years was added to the DC universe. So maybe Bruce’s been Batman for 15 years? There is the problem with Arkham Knight’s age.

@@assassinsaturn2022 that would make no sense batman is old but drawn young so he can be used in more storys without age being a factor if comics would age their heros we would have a retired bruce wayne and a robin as batman but dc and marvel love keeping their heros the same and not age except for spiderman and nightwing but this explains why clark kent and bruce wayne looks so young but they are supposed to be 40-60
The biggest failure of King's Batman is that for FAR too much of it, he's somewhere between a reactionary, a victim and a survivor instead of being a competent hero. He feels like "A batman" but not THE Batman, no matter how many times he screams it.....which is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too often.
If I didn't know better, I would think that Tom King doesn't actually LIKE Batman.
