    I get quite bit of hot rock in a local park; have found that reducing the sensitivity helps make them less of a problem. Usually, they don't make my pin pointer buzz a lot; it just makes chirping type noises. Nice find on that quarter. I also found one of about the same age and was excited like you. Lot's of fun!

    Very nice find. I've pulled a few of those in an old park I hunt here on western ny. It's always great to see that silver edge in the bottom of the hole. Really surprised that the green frequency line was not more dominant on that coin. Usually it will be on my v3i. Thanks for sharing a great video. Gotta love this hobby.

      Greg Ruhland Deepsilver Greg...I think it was giving me a "differnt" type of signal because of its depth and the fact that the coin was on edge. Just glad the Ultimate coil caught it!! Thanks for the view!

    Your video does more to show the power of the Detech 13" inch coil than any company advertising or any air tests. Hearing the difference in the sounds when you sweep the target area with the two different coils has totally sold me on the Detech 13". If not for that coil, you might have just passed by that coin and never found it.

    Amazing find ... thanks so much for sharing. You mention at the beginning of the video that you are running in a "custom" coin and jewelry program. I'm new to the V3I (2 weeks now) and I'm wondering if this old guy (70 year old newbie) can possible learn half of what this machine is capable of doing. Would it be possible for you to share a little info about the modifications to the c&j program that you find helpful? Really wish I could hire a coach to help with the learning curve. Even coaching by phone would be welcome.
    ty for your time, George

      its a simple machine really but a super powerful machine for what it is, it isnt as deep as other machines but the Display is what sets it apart.

    I've been using the ultimate on my V3i since about a week after they hit the market. I have dug some deeper coins but haven't noticed an improved depth over my D2 coil however I have dug more than a few on edge coins in area's that I harmmered hard with my D2. Maybe there's an on edge SLQ in one of my hammered spots just waiting. I honestly think the 13" is a keeper in my arsenal. Big congrats on the SLQ(standing liberty quarter). I leave the my settings the same for coil size, the Detech really doesn't read as accurate as the stock D2 does for depth especially on the shallower targets. It's also remarkable on tiny objects for being such a large coil. I might also add that I do have a Super 12 that I used on my MXT but retired that for the D2 before the Vision or V3 even hit the market and I was finding much more deeper targets than I ever did with the Super 12. The soil here in Michigan is mild in the south west part.

      Giant056 First, thank you for taking time to watch my video(s). Hope they are all helpful in some way. Second, I too have not noticed or dug many coins using the Detech 13" Ultimate coil vs. the D2 stock coil. In fact, today I was back in the park and returned to using the D2 coil as I really like the separation it gives me between trash and treasure. I've had the Ultimate coil for about the same amount of time as you and like you, I think I will keep the 13" coil and sell off the 12" coil as I can't afford to keep them all. Hopefully, whatever I get for the coil I can put towards my next purchase. Good luck and HH!!

    There are many all over the country who claim the V3i is unable to detect
    a us quarter or dime at ten inches even with the ultimate coil. Please do
    a depth test and lets see just how deep the V3i will go.

    Great video and congrats on the standing liberty quarter. I used to own a v3 spectra and sold it. Big mistake for me! Now I'd like to purchase one again with the detech ultimate coil. Looks like a great combination and a winner in my book! Also, I understand that the new coil is better against EMI as well? Congrats again!

    I use the White's double D coil with my V3i and I get great depth and target separation. Also I have a DFX that I use a larger 15" coil on while relic hunting. But I like the V3i's three frequency set up. Great video, very informative, keep them coming!

      snyper069 It has been very dry here in Georgia the past several weeks, so I have limited my hunting so as to NOT kill the grass in the park. Was the Liberty quarter found in the same spot (area) as those sloppy hunters? If so, they obviously missed it and your Ultimate coil found it. Awesome!

    • @silverseeker6040
      @silverseeker6040  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +petbytes The coin was found about 12-15' from where the other hunters had previously tracked through. When I am hunting and "in the zone," I move very slowly and cover an area in several directions. I've watched other hunters move through an area walking like they are moving down a city block and swinging their coil leaving more ground undetected then what they have actually covered with a coil!! Thanks for watching!! HH

    The Detech 13" Ultimate coil is light weight (as compared to the 12" White's Super 300) accurate and great for finding coins on edge. It takes a little to learn the coil and to learn how to setup the V3i recovery delay so as to help with the separation of trash to treasure. Well worth the $179.00 for the coil!

      So how much depth gain would you say is the 13" Detech giving you on average compared to the stock coil?

    • @David-hg6zv
      @David-hg6zv 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm curious as to the answer on this as well. I'm thinking of selling my V3i as I haven't been happy with the depth. I will say I've been using the stock coin and jewelry setting with the stock coil. Sure would appreciate a response. Thanks so much!!

      thats user error which is why you aren't getting that great of depth. Its worth keeping the v3i cause no other machine can come close to it in pretty much anything.

    Nice find. I always wonder just how a coin can get that deep in the ground! Even around my house when I've found coins around my vehicle where I've dropped them from getting my keys out of my pocket, I've found them several inches deep.
    Can anyone answer that question?

    Great video and very informative on the Detech 13" coil. I am about to take the plunge and buy one for my V3i - I think it would absolutely kill at the beach.
    I don't think you would have hit that standing liberty quarter if you did not have the Detech - since it did not seem to register as will with that other coil! Congratulations!
    By the way, to mute your V3i when you want it be silent, just press the MENU button! Works like a charm, and you don't have to turn your machine off that way!
    Happy Hunting!
    PS. I would not have let those kids anywhere NEAR the coin. If they took off across the park they would be out of sight before you got to your feet!

    Good Hunting... nice find. Hey... The V3i is on my short list for a new machine. Would you buy this machine again? Are you happy with it's performance? I was going to do the Nokta Impact account it has 3 frequencies... but I don't think it's such a great machine. Then the Safari, it doesn't have much adjustment. But I just discovered the V3i, with my researching, and I've been very impressed with it. I'm thinking it might be better than the E trac. Good Video

      The v3i can't be beat, its a fantastic machine and has way more tweaking options than any other machine, dont let minicab or anything fool you with the claims for multi frequency they only operate in one frequency at a time and because of that they miss stuff, the v3i if you put it in multifreq mode is actually operating in it unlike the other detectors, the impact is only capable of one frequency at a time, its a average machine. I do prefer the v3i over any minicab detector.

    • @silverseeker6040
      @silverseeker6040  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Gene Murphy I try to show you the Spectragraph display on all finds, including the audio and the find as it comes out of the hole. I believe that you cannot get accurate results of a coils true or full capabilities by burying a coin and then running your coil over the hole. As a coin rests in the ground, it reacts with the acids in the soil and the rain and creates what I call a "halo" effect around the coin. These are actually small pieces of the coins metal that leach into the surrounding soil that a detectors magnetic field create eddy's on and around. This takes time...years even. So to dig a hole and bury a coin and then run your coil over it is almost pointless. You can watch other videos of people doing air test of the Detech 13" coil that can give you an approximation of the coils depth capabilities. I prefer to concentrate on actual, in the field, conditions. If you watched the entire video, that SLQ was on its side, 7 1/2" down. The Ultimate coil found it! That's pretty good depth on a sideways coin that only had a 1/2" surface area exposed to the coils magnetic fields!! Thanks again for watching and your comments.

    if the spectra coil is over a coin, this machine lets you know. if its trash, its sounds and looks trashy. I have all the V3 coils White's makes, my question is what loop select would you use in expert setup with the Detech 13".

    • @silverseeker6040
      @silverseeker6040  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +simmsman413 The Loop Selection in the Expert menu really only helps with pinpointing. So with the 13" Detech coil I select the White's 12" Super 300 coil. Works well. Thanks for watching...HH!!

      @silverseeker6040  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      helious74 Whenever I am using a non White's coil on my V3i, I always select the White's coil on the display that is closest in comparison to the coil I am using. So for the ultimate 13" coil, I selected the White's Super 300 12" coil. The only thing that your selection does is to help narrow down your pinpointing, so you could always keep your coil selection on the 10" DD coil and not loose any depth or sensitivity; your pinpointing mode may be off slightly though.
      Thanks for watching the video and for taking time to comment. HH!!

      +Dustin Mills---> I rub the coins in an effort to show you, the viewers, what the coin is. It's all good...a coin with that much environmental damage is worth very little; even key dates. anyways, all my finds that are older copper, wheaties and all silver are kept and never sold, so value to me is determined by finding the coin and maintaining it. In 30+ years of detecting, I have never sold anything that I find. Although I have returned a couple of class rings!! Thanks for watching and HH!!

    The CTX will walk all over the V3i

    • @Mr.Technical77
      @Mr.Technical77 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      It depends on where you're at. One thing you should know about the CTX and every other FBS machine is that the 28 frequency claim is a bit of a marketing myth. FBS uses no more than 2 base frequencies. The way they do it is quite clever, in automated sequence much like a PI machine but with the benefit of discrimination. The CTX will outperform the V3i in highly mineralized ground, but that's about as far as it goes. The V3i is more consistent across the board, is a better gold prospector, and is deeper in mild to moderate soil with the right program tweaks.

    • @jeanponce2017
      @jeanponce2017 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The CTX is also an iron magnet Whites detectors smoke the CTX on discriminating out iron. But I know a lot of people love square nails 🙄

      It will be o.k. I have a V and a Nox. Is one better than the other ? May be in trash the Nox gets the nod. It comes down to the setup of the machine for the task at hand and to forget about everything on your mind and get lost in the sound of the detector. Wish i was young again.
