    I have always soaked my waterslide paper on a wet sponge or kitchen wipe, then dabbed the back on a paper towel. It has always come off really easy. I used waterslide on my nails as well. It dries a lot faster. But stunning work!

    I love this idea! Your pattern is gorgeous! Re water slide: what remains on the coaster is actually thin plastic, not paper. That may be why it crackled some when the heat got a bit close. For next time, if you want, you can print the image in reverse. That way, you are sliding the paper off from the top, not trying to slide it out from the bottom. There may be times when that technique will work better. ❤️

      💕🥰thank you. Someone else also mentioned that you can use the waterslide paper like a temporary tattoo , which is cool! I was going by the instructions on the package, but this way would definitely be easier for some designs!

    I find it’s best to carefully mop up the water over the whole image, by pressing down with kitchen paper and then it dries extremely quickly after that.
    It’s also great to apply waterslide decals onto already baked polymer clay. Once the decal is dry, I then bake my piece for 10 mins on the temperature that I use for my brand of polymer clay. It comes out of the oven a little sticky, so be careful when handling, not to get fingerprints on it! Then I apply a thin layer of UV resin with a brush to coat over the piece and then cure it under the UV lamp. That gets rid of the stickiness after baking, so then it’s much easier to handle! Then I dome with a thicker UV resin layer (or two!), after that. (I expect that cast resin would easily work, just as well.)

    I love this tutorial. The hummingbirds are absolutely gorgeous. The only suggestion I have is when you cut out the scenery for the full coaster picture. Cut past the edge of the coaster and dry, then take it nail file and scrape all along the edge of the coaster and it will cut off everything that’s overlapping the coaster. That way you get a perfect picture on the whole coaster. You may already know but didn’t mention it, I would have kept everything left over on the one you cut the single hummingbird to use on a future project.
    Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us. I love your channel. You are very good and professional.

    Does the waterslide paper work like temporary tattoos? I just did some resin coasters with temp tattoos and you put them where you want, and then press a wet cloth on it to soak it. Then peel the plastic off the top. With these on the waterslide, what does the backside look like?

    U have a nail lamp for uv resin don't u? The heat from that might help. But the only water sliders I've used r lil 1s for nails. For nails it's easier (for me anyway) to but a thin layer of base coat but not cured. That way I could slide it easier with less chance of ripping it. Then cure 😉

    • @LiaDiaDesigns
      @LiaDiaDesigns  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      🤩ooh! That is an interesting idea! I do have a lamp...I don't really like using UV resin, but that sounds like cool technique! Thank you!

    I absolutely love a ton of your work. They are always so beautiful….however for this video… a water slide is basically a temporary tattoo. You do not need to soak it in water but you would take your piece and sponge damp it with water with actual image on opposite side. Just like you would do on your skin.

    • @LiaDiaDesigns

      @@LiaDiaDesigns since this is a water slide and not a tattoo, you did right by following the instructions on the pkg. I would imagine temporary tattoos would work, too, as I use both with resin. The key is letting both of them dry really well.
