I don't play Star Wars Legion, and I don't have a 3D printer. But I still love seeing you paint things for enjoyment, and your techniques and style continue to teach me to be a better painter myself. Thanks for all you do!
Great video, love the trooper and funny enough my son and I are wacthing the Clone Wars cartoon and Bad Batch right now. We are really enjoying it and I will have to show him this now cause he loves the clones as well. Thanks for the great videos you are always a pleasure to watch.
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio I enjoyed putting them together more than the official kits, tbh! I got on set of official phase 2 clones to check scale against, but I've been Anvilrage all the way since!
They are! I've really been enjoying painting Star Wars stuff recently, it's a blast to go back to some of the things that first got me into sci-fi and space opera as a kid.
Great result. I like how you paint things and also present the video. Some great little techniques in this video and it feels more useful seeing you narrate and paint at the same time. Love the detail on the model and the information in the description. Nicely done all round.
Thank you very much! I always like to know the 'Why' of things when people talk about their techniques, so it's something which I try to include with whatever I'm working on.
This is the first time i've seen the end product of a legion clone model that doesn't look like the paints weren't thinned (no offence to those who's clones I've seen). But holy shet, thou has the neatest hand movements ever
It can be a bit of a trick, but I find the easiest way to get the most from it is to think of it more like a shade like Agrax or similar - working over the top of it doesn't take long either, and you preserve that cool, clinical white recess.
I really like this! The freehand seems cool but achievable. :D I so want to follow this tutorial, need to see if I'll find a chance to grab the STL pack some time. :D Too bad they don't sell a single mini of them and only the pack. :D
Thinking of buying the arc trooper model set. Don't play legion but is a fan of starwars and Warhammer like models although I have no experience painting them. Any tips for a beginner?
For the most part it's either Citadel or Army Painter stuff, usually medium brushes or regiment brushes - the 'standard' across most ranges. Unless specifically calling out a grubby old drybrush or something, that tends to be what I'm using.
@@SonicSledgehammerStudio so there just typical clones built for forrest environments there like a green almost like guardsmen but have slight common to them and have green glass for the mask instead of black I always thought they looks cool since they fit where they fight
@@jacobheller3146 I think you're talking about Commander Gree. He's the only Kashyyyk trooper who wears a regular Phase II helmet with a green visor instead of scout armor.

love the paint job!
This is a neat color scheme. I was impressed that no Agrax Earthshade was harmed in making this tutorial. Thanks for sharing this.
Im going to be getting started with Legion soon and cant wait to paint up some arc troopers like helldivers. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Those straight lines ended up great, and the blue on white looks awesome

Really enjoyed this video, very calm presentation!! 🤣🤣👍👍😉
Thank you , Troy .

I have two boxes of ARCs i am working on this weekend, this came out at literally the perfect time.
While I don't play Star Wars, the paint scheme would work great for troopers in Star Grave. hell, even a Space Marine team would look nice like that.

The Anvilrage kits are so good!
I've been really impressed by how easily these kits fit together, too.

Great paint job on this guy!
It turned out great!
Looks awesome! Inspiring really I have been looking into Star Wars Legion these clones look fun to paint.

Thanks, great guide. Been struggling to use apothecary white for a while 👍

I impulse bought some Legion... and this is making me think I should build and paint it all...
They're really rather nice kits, the official Legion stuff. Plus they look cool as hell once they're done!
Great tutorial & fantastic mini, these are really realistical figures. I suppose the next ones will be some not-bad batch from Skullforge.😊

I had one! ...then it broke. 🤣 I'll replace it eventually, but the elbow grease in the meantime is good for my fitness or something.

Despite the Clone Wars movie being bad most of things to result from it have been real good, personal favourite for me is The Republic Commandos.
The republic commandos werent even in the Clone Wars movie...
@@andremira7594 they were shown in the series tho and in bad batch especially
@@mrfister1234 never said they werent. Thats the reason for my comment: is this guys saying the movie is bad or the tv show?
@@andremira7594 he’s prob implying that the movie was bad and the shows are good
Nice I always thought the clones were a bit grimier than the storm troopers
Awesome! Super clear tutorial, thank you. I was wondering: which brushes do you use?

At 10:27 I feel like there may have been a better shade to use. Comment and Like for algorithm.
Drakenhof Nightshade, you mean? 😇
Did you thin the paints in this video?
ngl will probaly never buy or paint these even tho i love star wars but could u try to paint the clone camo guys lol thay would be cool to see

How did you get your corax white to look so bright? Mine is still a little greyish
My mistake. I just realised spray primer corax white is darker than base paint corax white
Did Mrs. Sledge approve?
She had to remind me to "get his little blue cheeky bits," so I think she's on board. 😂
Wish I had seen this before I did my 8 Clone Trooper Pawns ♟! Cheers 🍻
Ah, well - useful for next time you crack out a set that needs doing! ;D
