There used to be 3 different videos we asked new reactors to watch to understand BTS, but Taylor recently (as in May 2022) came out with a video that condenses all three videos into one comprehensive video. And even just since the video came out in May, a lot of BTS stuff has happened including 2 more BTS related albums, but it will give you the basics that you need to understand BTS for sure.
The stories are created for the BU, they really met when they joined Big Hit as trainees along with many other boys, after training and passing evaluations, they stayed in the group. I think XCeleste did an excellent job of connecting things from the storyline to the Fake Love mv but I also feel by presenting the meaning of the song only after speculatively engaging many items, what BTS may have wanted to convey with the actual song might not be the thing the viewer comes away with. She did mention the path to loving yourself along with showing visuals of masks that need to be lowered. But I think, and this is just me, much as she was able to draw on many images across time, she probably could have drawn a bit more on the psychology of Karl Jung which is a central theme of the messaging chapter which immediately follows the release of Fake Love. I think BTS is trying to say Fake Love is becoming overly invested in the Persona you use to represent yourself. The Persona is a mask. It tends to be quite effective until things well up from the subconscious which expose repressed aspects of your person that have not been part of how you represent yourself when interacting with the outside world. These other aspects can be problematic in relationship to the Persona. Later BTS works address how one needs to acknowledge and integrate them. But here, for me, BTS is showing the moment one realizes one has been in love with a fake understanding of oneself, a less than complete construction of who you are.

Don't worry too much about other peoples theories, or meanings for BTS songs or MVs..... just let the song/MV speak to you and get what YOU need from it. Different songs mean different things to different people and BTS have said themselves they will not tell us all the meanings as that is too easy - we need to decipher it for ourselves and truly come to understanding. We are all on a journey to better and discover ourselves. The journey is unique to each of us. Don't let others tell you what the songs are supposed to mean. This "theory " video is good, and one I personally think is possibly right.... but it's only one of many theories... and each theory is valid in itself.... People will say this song means this or that, but that is the message that they needed to hear... it might not be what needs to speak to you... Each song is so multilayered that nearly everyone gets something from them. You will find depending on your mental state at any particular time - the message you get from each song can change too. We like to say - We find BTS when we really need them - regardless if we realise it at the time. The most important thing is to ENJOY YOUR BTS JOURNEY... there is no right or wrong way to do it.... Just YOUR way to do it.

Don't worry too much about other peoples theories, or meanings for BTS songs or MVs..... just let the song/MV speak to you and get what YOU need from it.
Different songs mean different things to different people and BTS have said themselves they will not tell us all the meanings as that is too easy - we need to decipher it for ourselves and truly come to understanding. We are all on a journey to better and discover ourselves. The journey is unique to each of us. Don't let others tell you what the songs are supposed to mean.
This "theory " video is good, and one I personally think is possibly right.... but it's only one of many theories... and each theory is valid in itself.... People will say this song means this or that, but that is the message that they needed to hear... it might not be what needs to speak to you... Each song is so multilayered that nearly everyone gets something from them.
You will find depending on your mental state at any particular time - the message you get from each song can change too.
We like to say - We find BTS when we really need them - regardless if we realise it at the time.
The most important thing is to ENJOY YOUR BTS JOURNEY... there is no right or wrong way to do it.... Just YOUR way to do it.

It's a lot of information to pack in and can be a bit tricky if you haven't follow them since the beginning. They really weave a beautiful story that's still ongoing. The BU has nothing to do with their real life...it's all fictional. Again, another layer to BTS. 💜.
