Neway 1990's valve seat cutters

This video shows some Neway (Sykes Pickavant and Sealey make similar ones) valve seat cutters in use on a 1275 mini cylinder head , Quite expensive new but they do last a long time and also can be found relatively cheaply on ebay. For single angle at a time or more recently 3 angle cutter bits have been made although i haven't tried them.

Did a 16 valve head, no problems using cutting fluid, a solid pilot, and proper technique.

blimey, I used these just after I completed my apprenticeship. All pretty space aged back then.

I picked up a second hand set with a couple of cutters for around £120. Only had a 45 degree that would fit inlet and exhaust. Have priced up a 30 and 60 degree from Neway (sometimes on eBay). Did a test cut ok but could do with the two handed rotating adaptor to ensure better concentricity.

You can get new ones from Cylinder Head Supply. They are a bit expensive and they work really well in my somewhat limited experience. I’ve done three cylinder heads with my set.
