  • For us, the tear drop lugs are a signature design of the 1940s and a feature, that most are likely familiar with, and even associate with the Vacheron Constantin brand.
The Teardrop Lugs are the dramatic poetry of Vacheron Constantin's classic mid-century design language. But what do we know about these covetable vintage beauties?

    First congratulations.
I like your channel and shop because I am seeing watches which is not common anymore. I am getting time to time some data analysis. About your shop, I like the most the description about dial and crown originality and accuracy report (sec/day).

I love your video, very nice. I wanted to point out that one variation of the teardrop lug is the two tone case. The body of the case is steel, and the lugs are gold. I doubt that they made up the 10% of production though. I've only seen three myself.
There were about four different cases by different case makers that were teardrop, or "lobe lug" like the triple date you show here. They were also made in the US in 14k and a 30mm case size. This due to import tariffs.

Thanks for your detailed feedback! Maybe I should have expressed myself better since the 10% is of course not a fact but rather a rough estimate. Unfortunately, as is well known, you can't find any reliable statements or documents from Vacheron Constantin directly.

Very informative video! I have a small collection of vintage watches myself, mostly Omega and more cheap brands. But among the expensive brands I think that vintage Vacheron Constantin watches are the prettiest ones. At least when it comes to dress watches. I like Vacheron better than AP, PP and Rolex.

Thanks a lot for this info. 🙏 I just (last three weeks) discovered that we had a watch in the closet that we never used because it had a broken glas and came from a family member many years ago. By accident we brought it with other watches to repair and got the info that it stil worked. (Without e battery we said?) ….. It is a Vacheron Constantin a bit like these. How can anyone know it is not a fake? .
Great peaces here in your vid too. 👌🤘

    Hi. Nice sugestions and advices.
I've always wondered why manufacturers don't provide data for their watches. Color, year, type of hands and other relevant information of interest to collectors. One man who knows "everything". PP, VC, AP and similar big brands should have no problem with that. I know it's a bit naive to expect that kind of help, service. But on the other hand, don't we deserve something similar.
For example what was the dial on the pocket watch of serial number x, diameter y, ... That should be an easy and reasonable question.
    I would appreciate your opinion.

A great review, by the way, I find the selling hand winding tudor big ross have 2 versions, below 12 o'clock big ross logo, there have [oyster date] (2 words) and [oysterdate] (1 word), are both also original?

    Only 2 things:
-The light set in your videos is always terrible. There is a lot of room for improvement there.
-The ref.4293 was a private commission by an important and wealthy personality from Spain. Few pieces made.
