yeah, man, _Tamers_ is the shit :) Adventure and 02 wasn't all that great (02 is better than 01, imho), neither was the Frontier ('cuz of the lack of digimon partners for the kids), Data Squad was kinda ok, I guess... Xros Wars (or... _Fusion_ * shrugs *) is great! (but not better than Tamers). Too bad the US release didn't have the original music for some reason, cuz that made the show for me (I watched it on german channel, it had the original music) - so, some countries had the epic orchestral music and rock songs with lyrics and shit... while the US had "digimon, digital monsters, digital _garlic_ (WTF?!) champion" bullshit... and I recently rewatched the US version... man, that shit gets old pretty fast, if you ask me... I guess that's what made the Digimon not as popular in the US... Oh, sorry... I didn't mean to babble like that, sheesh, me, get your shit together! _Tamers are great_ :)

I don't get it on how digimon world 02 is better than it's sequel, because I just couldn't get past evil emperor arc. The situation of stuck in digital world is lost and Davis is kinda annoying. But that's just my opinion. I'm pretty sure digimon 02 is awesome after the arc is done, but I just can't continue after episode 11. Yeah, I'm in a region where digimon adventure was dubbed nationally, so it get's a serious tone than pokemon, which aired around the time. I think that's why it's famous outside US.

AWESOME!!!!! The memories I had as a kid watching Digimon are coming back. Thank you so much DYKA, and thank you Josh, for voicing Tai. I still have Digimon the movie for VHS, and the battle of Omnimon versus Diaboromon is still by far the best battle in the series to date.
Now that Digimon Tri is coming out I sincerely pray to God, Krishna, Ameterasu, Buddha, Satan or whoever I need to pray to for Joshua Seth and everyone else in the original dub to come back for the possible dub of Tri.

LegendKiller1fan The chances are that he won't. It's so high up there that you can't even reach it with Joshua actually applying himself for the role. Granted, he stated that Tai was his favorite role of all times and is willing to comeback if he's asked. But the Japanese Dub as you may know, changed all the main digidestined cast to a new cast. And this tai is 16-17 years of age. So he can't sound like a young kid anymore. Plus, nowadays, there's not many series that voices these newer kinds of anime. I don't think the "new 4kids" is going to even do Tri. I think it might be picked up by some other company, much like Pokémon Origins were. And that would be one really amazing thing, if they did.

It definitely brought some to my eye. Im not sure why i love this guy so much. It was a heartwarming experience for me hearing his voice in the few dub clips we had! And that along with BraveHeart made it even better! I do wish he used his natural voice too. Joshua did ask if he could, but they wanted him to do the young voice to make it more nostalgic for those who grew up with the dub.

I have to say just hearing Tai's voice brought back so many wonderful memories of when i would get up and watch the original Digimon Adventures every Saturday morning with my grandparents. I recently have gone back and watched the entire Tamer and Spirits sagas and the next ones on my list are Adventure 2 and Cross Wars.

Believe it or not, the hitchhiking scene was even MORE inappropriate than that in the Japanese version. All of the digidestined took turns trying to flag down a car, and at one point they force Matt to give it a try. In the American dub he doesn't even make the attempt. But in the original version, Matt sticks out his thumb and IMMEDIATELY a hot blonde in a convertible pulls up and opens the door. However he politely refuses and she drives off, and when the others yell at him for blowing it, he points out the obvious: there was only one seat. You can see why that part was cut entirely. It was hard enough to dissuade kids from taking rides with strangers, they didn't need to learn about MILFs too.
Awesome video! It was refreshing to hear Joshua Seth do this and I hope he returns for an English dub of the new Adventure series coming out. While it had its cheesy moments and there are undoubtedly deeper and crazier anime out there, Digimon remains a favorite of mine (at least the first three seasons). Here's hoping the new series turns out great!
The generally accepted canon explanation for how Ryo could be in both the Adventure and Tamers universes is covered in the Wonderswan Color games "D-1 Tamers" and "Brave Tamers". At the end of "D-1 Tamers", Ryo is taken by Moon-Millenniummon through a dimensional portal, and Ryo disappears from the Adventure timeline. Then in "Brave Tamers", the portal ends up taking him to the 1940's, where he witnesses the creation of the Digimon multiverse by the activation of the ENIAC computer. At the very end of the game after he defeats ZeedMilleniummon with the help of his new partner Monodramon (who eventually becomes Cyberdramon), Ryo is given the option to either go back to the Adventure universe or to take a trip to a new universe. Ryo chooses the latter option, and arrives in the Tamers universe. Brave Tamers was released during the run of Tamers, so I imagine this is the intended explanation.
The Adventure series being TV shows in the Tamers universe was only mentioned in the pre-production material as an idea the Tamers writers had at one point. The dub went with that idea, but the Japanese version never mentioned it within the show itself. Even if Adventure exists as a TV show in the Tamers universe, there's plenty of cases in film and literature where characters of one universe might cross over with a universe where they're considered fictional (the recent Simpsons/Futurama crossover is a good example of this, both shows have long been mutually fictional to each other in-universe). No reason to assume that Adventure and Tamers can't co-exist in the same multiverse just because one is fictional to the other.
I always thought it was what Izzy was talking about in Adventure 2 when he was explaining that there was the digital world, "real world", the dark ocean and other worlds like the world of wishes. Each "real world" was it's own dimension and different circumstances can let you go from one to the other. So had they not stopped Malomyotismon, every "real world" would have collided with the dark ocean, wish dimension and digital world/s. I personally like to think that the digital world itself is a multiversal singularity like Unicron and Primus from Transformers. Each "real world" in a Digimon series are all attached to the same digital world but due to the time fluctuations sometimes present in the digital world or each series or game possibly taking place hundreds of years after each other, the characters never actually meet each other even though they all go to the same digital world.

I also remember the vocie actress for Yolei playing a small part as another adult who looked and sounded exactly like her. Not exactly Robotech dub levels of creating new continuity between series, but it was a nice callback.

Myotismon was a VERY good villain (despite being pretty damn hammy). It helps that he was the msot threatening and intelligent villain in Digimon Adventure, not to mention the most cruel and sadistic. plus, the fact that he was only one of two big bads in the original season to actually threaten both worlds, and was the first one to become a more personal enemy of the group.

Aren't the only really noteworthy things being Takato and Bokomon having the same English VA? So he did get to narrate Frontier like Davis/Daisuke to narrate Tamers.
My only problem with the original dub was the over use of the rock music and puns. The original Japanese knew when to use the appropriate dark or somber music in order to really evoke tension or sadness.
Oh man! I never knew Tai's voice was his real voice! I always assumed he was doing a special voice, like how Tom Kenny does when he does Spongebob's voice. So awesome. I really hope they ask him back to do the dub for Tri. And the other main cast members as well.

I used to dislike season 3 tamers when I first saw it but after you get used to different setting and art style it is as good if not better than first two seasons!

And i would like to see the Joker (from 2008 the dark knight) as one of main villains in upcoming digimon adventure tri (i am not talking about batman) where he posses as main threate to the Digidestined and could be king/agent of chaos to the both digital world and Odabia. He could use various weapons like:guns ,knifes,bazooka ,exploding throwing card,grenades in purple jacket,graple hock,kicking and hand to hand combat to fight Tai Matt T K and other digimon partners and Digidestined on his own but easely gets beaten by Tai and others and laugh on his own pain. He could have more stories of how he got his scars/Glasgow smile and also in one episode reveal to Kari and Tai that he was spying/watching on them on night they saw battle between parrotmon and greymon and later he free Piedmon from gate of destiny and join him in creating complet chaos(Piedmon could call the joker "jokey") and even after Piedmon s second defeat joker's final assault could be that he capture the Digidestined's parents in aboned building with bombs and attempt to blow theme in air and send a video message to theme that he only want's to see Tai on top of construction building where they fight and when joker is about to detonate the building Tai then take graple hook from his pocket then hits him in head joker could then lose his balance and he would either fall to his own death or Tai could save him by snarling his leg with his graple hook and leave him hanging upside down for police to arrest him(near end of season) and i would like to see that Sora end up with Tai and to hear good old opening and hey digimon song when season gets dubed.

I have to say just hearing Tai's voice brought back so many wonderful memories of when i would get up and watch the original Digimon Adventures every Saturday morning with my grandparents. I recently have gone back and watched the entire Tamer and Spirits sagas and the next ones on my list are Adventure 2 and Cross Wars.

Believe it or not, the hitchhiking scene was even MORE inappropriate than that in the Japanese version. All of the digidestined took turns trying to flag down a car, and at one point they force Matt to give it a try. In the American dub he doesn't even make the attempt. But in the original version, Matt sticks out his thumb and IMMEDIATELY a hot blonde in a convertible pulls up and opens the door. However he politely refuses and she drives off, and when the others yell at him for blowing it, he points out the obvious: there was only one seat.
You can see why that part was cut entirely. It was hard enough to dissuade kids from taking rides with strangers, they didn't need to learn about MILFs too.

Awesome video! It was refreshing to hear Joshua Seth do this and I hope he returns for an English dub of the new Adventure series coming out. While it had its cheesy moments and there are undoubtedly deeper and crazier anime out there, Digimon remains a favorite of mine (at least the first three seasons). Here's hoping the new series turns out great!
The generally accepted canon explanation for how Ryo could be in both the Adventure and Tamers universes is covered in the Wonderswan Color games "D-1 Tamers" and "Brave Tamers".
At the end of "D-1 Tamers", Ryo is taken by Moon-Millenniummon through a dimensional portal, and Ryo disappears from the Adventure timeline. Then in "Brave Tamers", the portal ends up taking him to the 1940's, where he witnesses the creation of the Digimon multiverse by the activation of the ENIAC computer. At the very end of the game after he defeats ZeedMilleniummon with the help of his new partner Monodramon (who eventually becomes Cyberdramon), Ryo is given the option to either go back to the Adventure universe or to take a trip to a new universe. Ryo chooses the latter option, and arrives in the Tamers universe.
Brave Tamers was released during the run of Tamers, so I imagine this is the intended explanation.
There's still a hole in that though. How did he get into the world of Tamers if the first two series were not real?
The Adventure series being TV shows in the Tamers universe was only mentioned in the pre-production material as an idea the Tamers writers had at one point. The dub went with that idea, but the Japanese version never mentioned it within the show itself.
Even if Adventure exists as a TV show in the Tamers universe, there's plenty of cases in film and literature where characters of one universe might cross over with a universe where they're considered fictional (the recent Simpsons/Futurama crossover is a good example of this, both shows have long been mutually fictional to each other in-universe). No reason to assume that Adventure and Tamers can't co-exist in the same multiverse just because one is fictional to the other.
I always thought it was what Izzy was talking about in Adventure 2 when he was explaining that there was the digital world, "real world", the dark ocean and other worlds like the world of wishes. Each "real world" was it's own dimension and different circumstances can let you go from one to the other. So had they not stopped Malomyotismon, every "real world" would have collided with the dark ocean, wish dimension and digital world/s.
I personally like to think that the digital world itself is a multiversal singularity like Unicron and Primus from Transformers. Each "real world" in a Digimon series are all attached to the same digital world but due to the time fluctuations sometimes present in the digital world or each series or game possibly taking place hundreds of years after each other, the characters never actually meet each other even though they all go to the same digital world.

Myotismon was a VERY good villain (despite being pretty damn hammy). It helps that he was the msot threatening and intelligent villain in Digimon Adventure, not to mention the most cruel and sadistic.
plus, the fact that he was only one of two big bads in the original season to actually threaten both worlds, and was the first one to become a more personal enemy of the group.

Awwwww yeah! This series was part of my late 90's anime childhood, along with Sailor Moon, Dragon Ball Z and Pokémon! They even got the voice of Tai himself to tell us some facts for epic nostalgia feels!

Digimon is awesome. I'd like to see something regarding Digimon Frontier if there's going to be a part 2 of this. Frontier was odd that the tamers fused with their Digimon but I liked the concept a lot...
Aren't the only really noteworthy things being Takato and Bokomon having the same English VA? So he did get to narrate Frontier like Davis/Daisuke to narrate Tamers.
My only problem with the original dub was the over use of the rock music and puns.
The original Japanese knew when to use the appropriate dark or somber music in order to really evoke tension or sadness.
Oh man! I never knew Tai's voice was his real voice! I always assumed he was doing a special voice, like how Tom Kenny does when he does Spongebob's voice. So awesome. I really hope they ask him back to do the dub for Tri. And the other main cast members as well.

I can't believe you did this Joshua Seth i am so surprised and cannot wait for you to voice Tai again. And i would like to see the Joker (from 2008 the dark knight) as one of main villains in upcoming digimon adventure tri (i am not talking about batman) where he posses as main threate to the Digidestined and could be king/agent of chaos to the both digital world and Odabia. He could use various weapons like:guns ,knifes,bazooka ,exploding throwing card,grenades in purple jacket,graple hock,kicking and hand to hand combat to fight Tai Matt T K and other digimon partners and Digidestined on his own but easely gets beaten by Tai and others and laugh on his own pain. He could have more stories of how he got his scars/Glasgow smile and also in one episode reveal to Kari and Tai that he was spying/watching on them on night they saw battle between parrotmon and greymon and later he free Piedmon from gate of destiny and join him in creating complet chaos(Piedmon could call the joker "jokey") and even after Piedmon s second defeat joker's final assault could be that he capture the Digidestined's parents in aboned building with bombs and attempt to blow theme in air and send a video message to theme that he only want's to see Tai on top of construction building where they fight and when joker is about to detonate the building Tai then take graple hook from his pocket then hits him in head joker could then lose his balance and he would either fall to his own death or Tai could save him by snarling his leg with his graple hook and leave him hanging upside down for police to arrest him(near end of season) and i would like to see that Sora end up with Tai and to hear good old opening and hey digimon song when season gets dubed.
