I Had To Leave Japan… Here’s Why

  • Japan is an absolute home-run of a country, but unfortunately my time here (for now) has come to an end. I plan to go back, but for now I have to leave and its very sad. Would you live in this super cool country, even if you cant speak the language and you have to drive on the other side of the road?

Could you talk about what you've considered re living in Japan six months out of the year, six months in US? You mentioned a limited visa, but due to business demands, some people must qualify for longer ones. Did you end up investing in property in Japan (or would you be allowed?) --- with how the world is going it seems like a good idea. Violet
could have two (or more) homes.

I don't think they do that. You can stay for 90 days on a travel non-work visa. Japan isn't a country that supports immigration, refugees, or non Japanese living and working there. If he moved there it takes years to get citizenship and you need to be healthy financially and physically. they are strict. This isn't the US where you walk in illegally and demand govt services. most countries don't tolerate that.

So -- this was a vacation? :) If I were 30 years younger I would move outside the US. This country is going bonkers. Are you establishing a business in Japan?

Welcome Home!!! Japan is beautiful but I have to say I am a NYer thru and thru. You are very brave Cash!! When I left NYC, and moved to NJ, I cried for a week and tried to kill my husband twice, but I digress. As disgusting, dirty, expensive and cruel as NYC is, THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE IT!!!! Love to you, the Mrs and Violet!!! xoxo
