Switzerland also operated 220 de Havilland Vampires: first the F.1 versions from 1946, followed by the FB.52 versions from 1950. These aircraft marked the transition to jet power, later replaced by Hawker Hunters, which were in service until 1994. Thank you for this beautiful aerial tribute! Oii Oii
Where has this aircraft been? I love the sound it creates. Rather lovely looking colourways and Squadron marking too. What a lovely thing to see with my Saturday morning coffee. Ted kept this close to his chest! Or under beret! I wasn't aware 7:13 the RAF flew these? We all keep on learning. A bonus P51 Mustang lifting too. Thank you Norwegian Air Force Historical Flight for bring this wonderful aircraft to RAF Coningsby. 🇳🇴
Now, here's an unsung gem of an aircraft. Accompanied by the wonderful, pipes & drums of the RAF Pipe band ❤️. Marvellous footage, Ted sir.
