    This series has motivated me to convert my numismatic coins to gold. Simpler and easier for my kids to deal with once I am gone

    When selling a large collection, is it better to break up into smaller lots to get a better price? When a collection is so big, you can't see everything so does a dealer underpay?

      I'm always appreciative here Daniel. Now I'm just jealous.. I've said it before and I keep saying it ( although I know the answer ), I know you are a brick and mortar store but I'd be closed up sooner than later because I wouldn't be able to sell anything.. 😆. Is it hard sometimes not to sell things and hoard it for yourself ? It has to be..
      Thanks as always for your willingness to share with the hobby for free. You don't have to but I can't say thank you enough.

    Dan, I enjoyed watching your treasure hunt through all of the boxes in all three parts. Thank you.
    One question I have is how do you come up with a price to purchase this type of collection without looking at everything which you apparently did not as evidenced by your discoveries?

    • @CoinHELPu
      @CoinHELPu  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I mentioned this multiple times, three of us do the appraisal and each has their own job. However, I am not making discoveries of coins I haven't seen. I am rediscovering coins I forgot was in the collection. I am reliving the experience a bit so the viewer can as well.

    I don't want to "dis" anybody but the way most people buy their coins seems to be the wrong way to build up a valuable coin collection. I watch most of your videos and they're really informative. The way I look at these coin collections that you say is fairly typical of what comes into your shop, with people buying Special Mint Sets and coins out of the back page of magazines, a bell goes off in my mind "what are these people doing?" So there were a few coins that were silver and a few that had some value over face value. The rest were common pocket change coins. This person collected coins for a long time. Why didn't he "get educated" about numismatics? You have shown us another "valuable coin collection" that heirs found out wasn't the inheritance they were hoping for. I'll take 10 rare, scarce, low mintage coins (which this person could have easily acquired for the money he paid to build his collection) over this (please excuse me) junk that people buy from the "cost plus" rip off dealers. What's that saying? A fool is easily separated from his money? Thanks for showing us proof, Daniel. Please keep showing us videos like these so the "Newbies" to collecting coins know how and what to buy for generational wealth. This collection was like a broken analog clock. It's right twice in a 24 hour period. I post this with no malice but with frustration that people still refuse to get a solid foundation of knowledge in the hobby they love.Jesus....

    Drives me crazy watching you handle raw coins with your finger surfaces. I realize that as a dealer, for expediency's sake it is more convenient to handle common coins in a less than ideal way, so I don't think you are doing anything wrong, it is just that proper handing of coins was so ingrained in me that it is hard to watch someone who doesn't do that.

    • @CoinHELPu
      @CoinHELPu  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

      I am handling the coins properly, you must know that I've handled coins all my life and I know how to handle coins. I don't put finger oils or dirt or anything else on the coins. No dealer or grading company uses gloves. My hands are dry and oil free, you can't harm coins if you do it correctly. I do it for a living, just remember that.

    • @the_big_dog813
      @the_big_dog813 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      If you wash your hands you can handle raw coins, even proof coins, without causing any ill effects. Give up on this myth that you cannot touch a coin, unless you don't have clean hands.
      I do it all the time and have not had an issue for uncirculated coins that are now 60 years older than when first touched -- with clean hands washed of oils.
