@Our Savior 30 rails....oh I'd like to see that....i saw a 15 rail shot....using only 1 rail.....it was a 3 cushions billiard trick shot master during. an exhibition. Used masse to generate hundred thousand RPMs applied to that cue bal I would think...
I do agree with you about 9 ball....with amateur players....they can't runbmore then 1 or 2v balls in a row...have no imagination to come up with credible way yo continue their inning and just hammer the balls and a ball ...the 9ball too often gets pocketed ...incall those lottery /slot machine shots....they have no ideal as to what to do....so let play lotto or pull the slot machine handle and ...see what comes up....some times it pay out....
However...when professionals play 9ball ..they play with precision pinpoint control of the cue ball... showing pool is a form of art

yeah, basically, this is telling people to use deflection as if all instances of aiming full and putting inside result in pocketing the ball. You'd still have to hit rail just before the OB. And as you said, it's not very useful unless every single shot allows you to get useful position with ... INSIDE. It is after all, far better to just learn how to pocket balls and make the cue ball go where you aim.

Geometry and physics .. it's a great game my wife and me play at least 30 40 games a week.
My grampa liked to hustle at the pool halls in the 1940s .. He taught me a lot of cool stuff on his red felt slated table. It was awesome... Masse, draw, english, runner, combo. 8 ball 9 ball, rotation, safety, shots, and jump cue ball. Cue ball position for the next shot was my first most important lesson on the table.

hmm just hit rail first and shot it medium to slow while imagining the ghost ball first. Aim the shot prior using the side spin. Don't move your whole stick for side spin. Just move the back of the stick in the opposite direction then where you are trying to apply the spin. The object ball is most important. This shot is possible but the easier shot is using inside or right spin and a bit of low English applied because it helps the ball rotate more towards the rail rather than knocking it off course. So yeah rail first and a little low english and right/inside spin is the easest here but all english is possible to make the shot using the ghost ball as target. Just some require more precision with less room for error.

It's called back hand English. Doctor Dave has a lot of good videos on it. How far over to the left you aim on that shot depends a lot on your stroke , the type of shaft you are using, how hard you strike the ball, etc etc.

My understanding is when using English u still have to make sure your stick is in line with the point of contact on the object ball that would be used on a straight shot. When you do this it automatically compensates for the transfer of English from the cue ball to the object ball. That said I almost always use backside English when object ball is touching the rail unless it's going to leave me in shit position for my next shot. I remember my game elevating dramatically after learning this rule when compensating for English. A pro here in st Louis named rich sager told me about it and I became a serious threat in league play since I was new and was a bit underrated because I had no established ranking yet.

    • @CosplayZine
      @CosplayZine 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

Yes. Rotate the back of the stick in the opposite direction rather than moving the entire stick will help not repositioning your aim of the point of contact on the ghost ball.

This isn't a tip for making this shot easier to make. If you need that then you would use outside english (tip on the right side of the cue ball) and aim to hit the 3 just a touch to the left of center to the pocket. That way the spin that gets transfered to the 3 will help it down the rail and minimize any bounce. Shooting the shot this way (with inside english like the video) is less forgiving and requires greater precision. Seems to me you would only do this if you wanted to go downtable with the cueball exactly as happened.

When the cueball is hit left or right of center, it doesn't go exactly straight. Its point of impact will be slightly off in the opposite direction of the spin applied. Left spin (English) makes its point of impact shift slightly to the right and vice versa. How much deflection you get depends on the length of shot, how hard you hit it, and the stiffness of the shaft.

@@ThePrufessa are you sure about that?
Because you're opinion of what one can argue reasonably, does not constitute a governing body when it comes to the point of order officially of what is in terms of description and it's term of descriptor when considering there isn't really even a governing body other than various manufacturers and it's resulting personal and public opinions as a result of claim and or advertising in conjunction and in combination add infinitum where the fact remains the only thing that we can logically conclude in the reasonable universal terms is the fact that when we use the word known as squirt, that would be just about the only universal descriptor that in public or personal description, two people for a majority of persons will out of hand understand exactly in meaning without the never ending point of order itself having to be explained
In other words if I describe squirt using the term called deflection, I myself already know and I'm not going to speak for others in terms of what day and others know but I do know I can safely assume that if I were to bet money, my wager would prove successful in the long run if I were to say the conversation and or public claim can in fact and will be Lost in translation more times than not and therefore in conclusion of the fact at hand that I am trying to describe as a result can and will be contaminated and therefore points of order completely gone and lost enough times in which if I am Johnny Appleseed and I don't know for a fact that's my basket contains actual apple seeds and nothing else, then I should not expect apple trees growing as a result in Wake of my disbursement and that is simple and reasonable argument that only those who simply try to find disagreement in what is reasonable and logical conclusion are simply those who like to find a reason where there is none reasonably in order to just argue and raise controversy and or produce negative emotional reaction and or deception.
In my opinion you got it half right but the problem is it's application is completely lost in translation and the point of order in all actuality in terms of the video demonstration, no matter how sincere you're responsibility is in relation to irresponsibility would not matter.
as soon as introduction to motion is injected to any equation now we have a problem with mathematics explaining any resulting occurrence thereof and there to .. and that is a fact even in reasonable three-dimensional terms of a forward stick delivery but in the video we have an actual occurrence of a lateral drift of the field vector being the stick itself traveling laterally to the right and just before tip transmission in terms of an energy signal, it is also reasonable to say that the three-dimensional vector starting at the tip begins to vertically change based off of the lateral drift to the right evidence if one looks at the stick pivot point on top of the bridge hand does in fact drift to the right and just before tip contact there is a relief of sorts in which the lateral drift stops and now the resulting occurrence of what vertically happens on the tip side is hard to say whether or not right at that minutia moment of tip transmission contact to the cue ball and what language as a result does the cue ball itself recognize in terms of does the tip vector if one wants to call it that but we know it is diminished in terms of energy going forward, is one of the tip vertically descending downward or as a result of the tension of lateral drift pushing down on the bridge hand point of vertical pivot, now springs the tip side upward due to the fact of stick oscillation that occurs in most cases except for that tiny minority of players who tend to do to their mechanics intentionally and or just so happens to deliver the stick as an entirety like a dart whereas in most cases even at the high level there is some oscillation occurring and thus why you sometimes hear the term known as timing through the cue ball where at the point of tip transmission perhaps the oscillation of the stick becomes neutral and or maybe there is still some bend in the stick that happens to work favorably with the timing of forward stroke of a given player and that's why proving more than likely the adage that a shorter stick being more rigid oftentimes is a lot more accurate than a long stick and that would be true mathematically on paper but for some people it might not be true because of their stroke mechanics might be in favor of a longer stick and thus why some sticks just so happen to work better with the nuances and or flaws of what is typical because in all likelihood nobody has a perfect stroke and or stick delivery because reality and existence itself is not necessarily a perfect one and therefore the perfection is in the imperfection and vice versa.
The only thing that I can factually conclude and I'll debate you in argument anytime anyplace in this world and if there is an honest consensus of public observation or attendees to our public debate, I know for a fact that if we argue from the standpoint of what you said in your two comments in observation and conclusion of what I have listed but of course I would break it down more so in simple terms, my point of order just in the fact of what appears to be what you overlooked because your context certainly does not account for this lateral drift that is visually obvious in occurrence, that fact alone right there destroys your argument and or claim because it is my factual contention that the point of order is the lateral drift moving to the right that negates anything else as an occurrence only in theory because the lateral drift itself is the point of order and to now suggest there is some sort of deflection or squirt or swerve as a result, I think you should drop your defense and ego if you choose to challenge me and be happy in the fact that nobody on this planet and I mean nobody, could reasonably conclude with any mathematical formula as to what now occurs in relation to the lateral drift in terms of that final moment of tip contact and how the cue ball itself behaves as a energy container as a result of the signal transmission itself, being the stick as a field vector.
There has been a long-standing question that many of the brightest mathematicians now for decades have still not been able to answer and that is if a cue ball could be delivered in which theoretically it never runs out of energy and therefore takes on a constant path that never slows down or stops as a result of unending energy, "is there a path in static terms of a vacuum in which, a sphere can be delivered in which it never scratches",
on what we know as a,
2x1 playing surface typical of all pool tables with six pockets but in reality every table has eight pockets because it is comprised of two squares and therefore you split the side pockets in half but irregardless in simple terms we'll just call it six pockets....
One mathematician recently believes he has actually found a starting point or basis in which a formula can be derived and that right there I repeat is just a starting point of theory and that is the proof right there of how difficult a thing is to be derived once motion is implied that even mathematics itself even in a static vacuum theory itself becomes almost an impossible endeavor.
And yes we can say impossible because let's say this recent mathematician is on the right track, and let's say it leads towards a solution where mathematics itself can agree, his basis of contention has a problem even though on paper it can add up but when we speak in terms of actual three-dimensional reality we have a problem arguably of impossibility and that is his basis of contention VEERES OUT TO THE 40TH DECIMAL POINT.
If one is familiar with the machining world, it is a universal fact that in terms of tolerance, the fourth decimal point is ignored because it is considered of course with the naked eye to not exist but in examples of very extreme close tolerance type work that you will typically find an aerospace and aeronautic and high-tech realms, the fourth digit exists only in microscopic terms where to the naked eye it gives off a particular shine and that is your tolerance because molecules and atoms itself are only so big.
Now....the 40th decimal point..... Does or can that even exist in reality and where and what is it when visually the fourth digit is ignored because it cannot be seen other than a particular brilliance of shine itself no different than a razor blade if you look at that edge with the naked eye you can see that edge and how much it shines because it's so thin and that's why it cuts you so easily now take a basic magnifying glass and look at what shines to your naked eye and you will see an edge that is serrated and rough and one would almost be embarrassed to think that with the naked eye how vulnerable and weak your vision is in which you thought you were looking at something that was so smooth....
In reality this video and demonstration absolutely sucks because not only is it a moment of extreme timing, now include the lateral drift and I guarantee you the mathematical world would have a tougher time figuring this one out rather than the longstanding question for decades that's in a static vacuum in theory and question and they still haven't really got any headway on it yet or ever as far as I'm concerned..
Obviously at some point what mathematics can prove on paper has no actual basis in reality but we can never rule it out because of mathematics exist and we know it does then never say never in terms of mathematics always applying to reality no matter what.
      Just my opinion

, actually, the shot shown is applying INSIDE English. The object ball is being cut to the left. Left spin is being applied. It is a visual thing. If you draw them from the level of the balls, "inside" English puts the contact point in the middle of the drawing. Outside English would put the contact point of the cue tip at the edge of the drawing.
