    I love how clearly the demo shows the importance of rotation and high elbow working together to get the lats engaged. It may be the best I've seen it shown on video.

    Hi Mandy, thanks so much for your time to demonstrate this technique- catching the water. I have been struggling with the catch for 20 something years as I learned to swim by myself. The Catch Series with step by step breakdowns from start to finish and reverse of the demonstration are very clear and eye opening exercises. Your explanation is crisp with tips and pointers for focus on. You really are the perspicuous teacher and coach I have ever seen.
    I am so grateful I ran across your instruction videos.
    Thank you so much.

    EXCELLENT ONCE AGAIN! Love how long you actually hold water, as opposed to releasing early!

    Hip rotation and the catch happens at the same time then the pull and press follow. Could you pls clarify that? As i know, the catch happen first then the hip rotation and the power phase happen at the same time. Thanks❤

    Coach Mandy, Terry Laughlin, the TI author teaches an open fingers hand with the stroke and I noticed your fingers are generally closed. Can you comment on this difference?

    • @SWIMVICE
      @SWIMVICE  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You’re hand should be relaxed, naturally close together, but not tense. The hand is not supposed to be cupped with tension nor should it be splayed out with tension either. The catch is formed by the entire forearm and hand. Hope this helps! 👍🏼 -Coach Mandy

    Hello Mandy, in your video for two beats kick, I learnt a lot but wish to ask can I use right arm entering the water while right leg kicking too ie same side ? Same for the left side. Or is it a must to do cross arm and leg ie right arm enters while left leg kicks ? Thank you 🙏

    • @SWIMVICE
      @SWIMVICE  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      R K that is the incorrect side. It’s the opposite leg and opposite arm entry for proper connection. Read my blog here for further detail 📲: tinyurl.com/y7qbmj6l

    You seem to have a really wide kick, is that needed because you’re going so slow? Love your videos, do you offer video analysis for a fee?

    • @SWIMVICE
      @SWIMVICE  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi D M, thank you for your feedback. Yes, it is because I’m demonstrating the drill in place. I use my kick to stabilize so this is why it’s much bigger or more exaggerated, but it is not this big when swimming freestyle. Same coordination, timing, and connection though. I offer video analysis as a service to both my online and offline clients. If you are interested in learning more, you can fill out my contact form at www.swimvice.com/lessons or email directly at info@swimvice.com. 👍🏼🙌🏽🏊🏼‍♂️ -Coach Mandy

    You’re making me a swimmer! I’m at least getting close. Is it shameful that I where fins?

    • @SWIMVICE
      @SWIMVICE  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, fins are a great tool to help with the kick. As long as it is not used as a crutch, you're good!
