I think it's pretty reasonable to assume that is the outcome he wants, victory is second to his reputation. This is also pretty evident by the fact that he spoke before his witnesses. This doesn't really ever happen because you want to talk based on what your witnesses have and haven't said. However, it makes a whole lot of sense if all he wants is attention to the case. If he had not done this most people would have just watched when he spoke, but since he drew attention at the beginning, a lot more people are now hearing more of his case.
That’s not how it works. She filed a restraining order against him. He did not file one against her. This means she can be near him but he cannot be near her.
@@cv7958 umm no thats how they work. The restraining order restrains BOTH sides from contacting the other once it’s in place, doesn’t matter who filed it. If she filed it against him then she intentionally makes contact with him she could be in violation of the restraining order just as much as he could. It’s set up that way so someone can’t file a restraining order against a person, then make deliberate contact with that person they filed against, just to have them falsely arrested for violating the restraining order. Think about it.

I know that in NJ the person(usually the victim) who filed the TRO would not be charged with violating the order if they were to contact the person who the TRO is made for. (defendant) The TRO is focused on the defendants behavior and actions and not the victims. So in NJ the victim can have contact with the defendant if they choose to. That still doesn't give the defendant the ok to contact or come to the home or the work place of the victim. It states in bold face letters on the bottom of the TRO in NJ (not these exact words but pretty close) THE VICTIM SHOULD NOT BE CHARGED OR FACE ANY CHARGES WITH VIOLATING THIS ORDER . So I would look at each state and see what their laws are on something like this b4 you tell someone that they are wrong. Bottom line TROS and domestic violence laws vary from State to State.
Even if he doesn't win this law suit, his career will bounce back. This law suit exposed a lot more about Heard that many people can't ignore anymore. She's made her bed and now she's going to lay in it.
I'm really struggling to get my head round why all her behaviour wasn't made apparent in their previous court cases. It's all very significant. I'm struggling mostly with the idea that there were people that knew what she had done, and what she was like, and yet JD was alienated from the industry and no one stepped in to provide their accounts of their own experience with her ; whether they were past relationships, etc. It is hardly likely her behaviour began with JD if Dr Curry's report and testimony has relevance. There was a campaign to remove her from Aquaman but she was still in it, meanwhile JD is the one to suffer. Whether it's a statement on victims and gender, or some other social/cultural reason, there's been a gross injustice here.

My mother, who passed last year at 100. To the end: rage-full, explosive, physically and verbally abusive, narcissistic. We all jumped when she ordered it. I lived in constant fear growing up and even as an adult when with her. She was not above hurling objects at me when triggered by who knows what. And her words could be so cruel. Never for a moment did she have an awareness of self, and always amnesia for any abuses she committed. And yet, she could be compelling, a gifted and attractive individual admired by many who peripherally knew her. What a shame she never sought help. I can clearly see BPD in the faces of others.

I'm beginning to see a pattern here that Amber's lawyers failed to account for. People surrounding Johnny often seem to actually possess a fair modicum of intelligence. It's more difficult, as an attorney, to have your way with and bully people who have brain cells that function.

In the State I live if the person who filed for the TRO initiates the contact, they are also considered guilty of breaking the TRO. This is specifically done to prevent false accusations and discourage 'games'. Is that true in CA?
It’s an incredibly bad idea to meet without lawyers and even the court involved while under a TRO. If it’s against a guy, so bad to meet with a TRO. In this case, the manager insured it would be ok. Being a law intern, this is absolutely ridiculous. The strategy Amber's lawyer is following to deliver testimonies clearly is creating ambiguity. NB:- Fellow lawyer's out there if you know you'll be defending your client let's stop using this kind of narcissist tactics they are disgusting.
Actually, this strategy has been around for centuries and will continue. Law Interns, attorneys, licensed civil and criminal representatives are all taught and utilize this strategy. The reason is because it is effective. Witnesses on both offense as well as defense have concerns about their reputations, and future relationships including ongoing and future. Some have more to lose than others. Testifying against Mr, Depp could damage a witness's future in the entertainment industry and supporting industries. He is the strong player here, rich powerful, longest
...rich, powerful, with the longest career and connections. Going against him could create a lot of damage to one's future. Also, being perceived as pro Amber could be perceived as damaging. The court of public opinion has been swayed against her during this case so far. I wonder why he is no longer he is no longer Depp's agent. I also wonder why he engaged in such personal conversations with her when he had a professional relationship with Depp. Amber reporting having dated Mr. Musk after her break up with Depp is not illegal. Trying to reconcile in person with witnesses nearby, was mutually consented to. Nothing physically nor legally damaging happened because of this meeting. Creating ambiguity is justifiable and not rediculous in my mind and in the minds of law school instructors, attorneys and judges.
I find it astonishing that the UK court ruled in AH’s favor. There’s clearly no evidence of Johnny being physically violent with her. Fouled mouthed, yes. Likely pushed to the point of expressing his dismay, frustration and pain in that manner….but foul language has never been considered domestic violence. I’m 100% for perpetrators being tried and convicted. In this case, AH clearly should Ben prosecuted for domestic violence and for lying under oath.

If you're asking why they don't play the entirety of these deposition tapes, it's because they delete the pauses and objections, I imagine somewhat because the objections aren't supposed to be included and maybe also to save time (with the pauses).

Virtually every attorney I have listened to say that Depp will have a tough time winning this because defamation is tough to win and the article she wrote doesn't name him specifically. So it will be interesting to see what the jury decides. It HAS helped Depp win public opinion and will now become hire-able again.

Trying to get back after filing for restraining order is very strange in a DA case especially coming from the person who claims to be the victim. If johny doesn't win this i will be shocked.

Heard would have said anything necessary to get what she wanted-- a meeting in person with the man she CLAIMED to be so afraid of she needed a court order to keep him away. If she thought later that accusing him of violating the TRO on the basis of this meeting would have been to her advantage, she would have done it without a moment's hesitation.

I think it's pretty reasonable to assume that is the outcome he wants, victory is second to his reputation. This is also pretty evident by the fact that he spoke before his witnesses. This doesn't really ever happen because you want to talk based on what your witnesses have and haven't said. However, it makes a whole lot of sense if all he wants is attention to the case. If he had not done this most people would have just watched when he spoke, but since he drew attention at the beginning, a lot more people are now hearing more of his case.

That’s not how it works. She filed a restraining order against him. He did not file one against her. This means she can be near him but he cannot be near her.

If she filed it against him then she intentionally makes contact with him she could be in violation of the restraining order just as much as he could. It’s set up that way so someone can’t file a restraining order against a person, then make deliberate contact with that person they filed against, just to have them falsely arrested for violating the restraining order. Think about it.

I know that in NJ the person(usually the victim) who filed the TRO would not be charged with violating the order if they were to contact the person who the TRO is made for. (defendant) The TRO is focused on the defendants behavior and actions and not the victims. So in NJ the victim can have contact with the defendant if they choose to. That still doesn't give the defendant the ok to contact or come to the home or the work place of the victim. It states in bold face letters on the bottom of the TRO in NJ (not these exact words but pretty close)
THE VICTIM SHOULD NOT BE CHARGED OR FACE ANY CHARGES WITH VIOLATING THIS ORDER . So I would look at each state and see what their laws are on something like this b4 you tell someone that they are wrong. Bottom line TROS and domestic violence laws vary from State to State.

I'm really struggling to get my head round why all her behaviour wasn't made apparent in their previous court cases. It's all very significant. I'm struggling mostly with the idea that there were people that knew what she had done, and what she was like, and yet JD was alienated from the industry and no one stepped in to provide their accounts of their own experience with her ; whether they were past relationships, etc. It is hardly likely her behaviour began with JD if Dr Curry's report and testimony has relevance. There was a campaign to remove her from Aquaman but she was still in it, meanwhile JD is the one to suffer. Whether it's a statement on victims and gender, or some other social/cultural reason, there's been a gross injustice here.
When he wins this case, he should then take on the British newspaper that called him a wife-beater.

I lived in constant fear growing up and even as an adult when with her. She was not above hurling objects at me when triggered by who knows what. And her words could be so cruel. Never for a moment did she have an awareness of self, and always amnesia for any abuses she committed. And yet, she could be compelling, a gifted and attractive individual admired by many who peripherally knew her. What a shame she never sought help. I can clearly see BPD in the faces of others.

That’s incorrect. Some victims of domestic violence which have active restraining orders will often initiate contact with the abuser. It could be for a myriad of different reasons; emotional bonds, low self-esteem, financial, pressure from family to reconcile, fear, intimidation, and threats.
But they do. And there are those that set traps and men who visit etc when they have an order against them.
In the State I live if the person who filed for the TRO initiates the contact, they are also considered guilty of breaking the TRO. This is specifically done to prevent false accusations and discourage 'games'. Is that true in CA?
this is the way it is in most countries. The US is unique in that there is very little consistency and there are sometimes competing jurisdictions.
It’s an incredibly bad idea to meet without lawyers and even the court involved while under a TRO. If it’s against a guy, so bad to meet with a TRO. In this case, the manager insured it would be ok. As a rule, don’t do it. Who is the guy who could not give Amber and Johnny a few more hours at his house. What a doofus!

In CA, it is illegal for both parties for even a petitioner to break their own TRO and can possibly get punished.

If you're asking why they don't play the entirety of these deposition tapes, it's because they delete the pauses and objections, I imagine somewhat because the objections aren't supposed to be included and maybe also to save time (with the pauses).
