Why would you have a weak early campaign? There's absolutely no need to go for a melee swipe build.... You get Thorn totems even before hitting the very first town and they are ABSOLUTELY enough to steamroll everything the game throws at you. You don't even need to do anything, just get/craft a bit of % minion damage on your gear as you go and drop a thorn totem down like every 3-4 seconds and you're free to just walk through the early zones. It gets even more ridiculous with spriggan form as you can drop multiple thorn totems at a time. The only time you should even pause and think is if this if your absolute starter and you have no affix shards to craft with yet. Otherwise thorn totems 1-2 shot all trash mobs (and hit like 3 enemies per volley each) and even kill bosses like Orian/Emberwing pretty much faster than you ever could. In fact, it's so easy I made another spriggan druid just to do something different and went for Spirit Thorns caster spriggan instead of a minion build with that one.
Build is hard to watch for a minute, let alone play it for hours upon hours...I've tried Shaman before (2 years ago..) but wanted to see what changed and if he is better now. Nope.
I'm staring at this and not getting it. Is it a masochist guide to shaman or something? You can get Thorn Totem before 1st town, and if you pick that skill and get a bit of % minion damage and minion spell damage on your gear you can steamroll the whole campaign on thorn totems alone. Each of them shoots at 3 enemies at a time and 1-2 shots mobs if you invest anything into minion damage. In early campaign you can just drop down a totem every few seconds and everything dies as you walk by. Who in their right mind would go melee to try to get some bleeds and ignites going (which both feels bad and takes 3x longer than just using Thorn Totems). You can literally just use a mouse the entire first half of the campaign with just LMB for movement and RMB for dropping down a totem. They're not even mana hungry. You can drop one every ~3 seconds and still be at full mana. Even better if you go bottom right side on the thorn totem talents, as the frost version of the totems can even freeze easily. This is why I don't read guides anymore.
@@ytubestolemyhandle Build literally tells you to specialize into totem at lvl 8 idk why the creator of this video played this way, but u mainly use thorn totem as dps even early on, swipe is just additional damage and easy mana.
One thing this guide doesn't really tell you is that it is a great support build for multiplayer. Constant healing with good area denial is pretty good, though i would say the healing hands/ divine bolt paladin is hands down the best group support, and a blast to play.
I do not understand rage. To me, to build rage you should either kill things, or take damage. But just spamming abilities to build rage? Weird. Easy, but weird.
It’s because you get mana returned when thorn totems expire and healing totems get those benefits. When transformed mana gains become rage gains. Weird but still a cool interaction

I feel like the maxroll guides are really lacking for this game. There are also so many strong builds they're just missing.

I agree. Some of these builds are terrible…
they just copy paste each "guide" and change wording for each class. I love maxroll but their epoch guides seem lazy.
