I love your idioms. "Rob Peter to pay Paul". I use them all the time. Beautiful trees , shrubs and flowers. I enjoy watching.

Loved this. It was nice to see the birch grove area after you moved things around earlier. Magnolia Elizabeth was a treat. I planted one of those, because my mother's name is Elizabeth, in my previous home but moved a couple years later and the people that moved in after destroyed everything so I didnt get to see mine. Wilsonii was beautiful, too, and so nice 5hat you will be able to enjoy the flowers without needing a ladder to appreciate them. Peonies are gorgeous. I planted some last year and still have a few more in pots. Hopefully I will get the depth right this time. I have one I planted more than a decade ago and it has never bloomed. It is herbaceous and I must have planted it too deep. If I dig it up and replant it more shallow will that solve the problem? And, if so, what's the best time of year to do that? Conversely, I have heard that you should plant tree peonies deep. I still have an Itoh peony to plant and I am not sure what the rule is for it. Nice to see the Libertia, too. I want some, but isn't that always the case. Thank you John, David, and Teddy!

I am fond of geranium pyrenecum and also geranium isparta. They both gently self seed around the garden and come up with some lovely combinations. Four of my favourites are with orange geums, catmint, fleabane, and lavender.

I just returned from a 10 day trip to England and Whales. Fantastic and beautiful! I think they can grow about anything there. Our day at Kew Gardens was so captivating, and cool. England is like one big garden. When I returned to the US (NC) my garden was flat! Heatwave 95 degrees and no rain. England, Ireland, Scotland, Whales...special places for us to visit...becoming a home away from home.

I'm in NC too. That was a weird month long drought. Water bill $90 last month.

Not a millionaire, but a great love for tree peonies. I now have four, one of them with eight large mauve blooms 👍❤️😊

Geranium phaeum is self-seeding like a mad. At least in my garden. If you just leave it as it is it will cover all garden area in couple of years

Great video, love watching your enthusiasm. What was the variegated plant right at the end of the video?

      I am also wondering this!!
(2 years after the video was released!! ha!)
I love John's enthusiasm for plants!
And the fact that these videos label the plants onscreen is an important bonus!

I looked this one up, and the app says it's a lamium, in the species of Deadnettle.
If this is incorrect, I blame the app!!
      Other names are:
      Yellow archangel,
      Also named:
      Golden Dead-nettle,
      Yellow deadnettle,
      and my fav:
      Yellow weasel's snout !! 😆
And many other names too, but how will I ever forget that last one!!
The app did not have a photo of one as heavily variegated as John's, but the name, and characteristics do seem to fit the bill.
John has a fine specimen there!!

Magnolias are a special treat. You might enjoy seeing my local magnolia collage in “Trees Growing in the Carolinas.” You have one smart 🐕. He knows the scientific plant 🌱 names.

0.55 Polemonium . Πολεμος ( Polemos) means war in greek and it is a male noun, ο πολεμος.
