    I follow along, but the outcome is bit diffferent. Comparing the peaks on the EQ, mine is having shallower peaks and walleyes around the fundamentals. Actually if i put my bass one octave higher i get the same 'picture' and dynamics, but yeah it is too high for a bass. On the original octave it is dull compared to yours. Same processing step by step ... Maybe it is because i use FL ??

    • @EClipChannel
      @EClipChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do use external converters, but I get the same sound if do trough soundcard directly. Only thing I can guess is FL sound Engine or Audio Interface you use. If you use RME, you should definitely get the same sound.

    • @DubElementMusic
      @DubElementMusic 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@EClipChannel It depends on what you mean by “sound better”. I definitely think it's nicer when there's still some life in the bassline. but I don't know much about the specific genre, maybe every bassline just has to sound the same.

      @EClipChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And as well, processing is a bit huge, specialy if you use distorsions, and phase alignment, this shape of saw will only provide less low hormonics, but original shape will be totally different.

    Do you recod your output directly from your soundcard or is taken from the speakers ? Your sound has a very distinct character to it, almost like a square wavish influence / distortion, which i cannot reproduce no matter how precisely I follow your steps here.

    • @EClipChannel
      @EClipChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I record through loopback, and this might be because of the soundcard or FL studio sound engine, I'm not sure how FL sounds as I never used it, but I did compare same results from Ableton, Logic and Cubase, and there is a difference between those 3 for sure.

      @@EClipChannelRight, when I change the phase of the bass I can see kick wave degradation on osciloscope at some points and hear that kick and bass loose some of their low end. I would also recommend using Mautoalign or SoundRadix autolign tools.

    • @EClipChannel
      @EClipChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Autoalign works with the latency, it migh move your bassline up to 20ms which is not so good. Only plugin that changes the phase this way is PHA-979 that i know of, never found any other plugin like that (there is one from UAD)

  • @TheSlackjointDudes
    @TheSlackjointDudes 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The sound on the first note, that "sometimes" appears is not the end of the last note, it´s a prering caused (most often) by linear phase eq's ;)
    Here´s some more on this: reverb.com/news/linear-phase-vs-regular-eq-which-is-better

    • @EClipChannel
      @EClipChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Try it without eq, and you will notice its still happening. Linear phase makes pre-ringing, witch apears before note played, not after. Anyway, LFO tool solves problem.

    • @EClipChannel
      @EClipChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is because i always reduce 1st note of the bass in midi. Velocity to 80 and other 2 notes are on 100. This way it gives a bit of sidechain to st note. In this video, only after 1st kick there was 1 note that was reduced to 80, thats why i cuted and extened. I hope you understud, but check when i was drawing midi, you will see that only on 1 note i had 1st note reduced

      @@tripshift4914 Well there is only 1 change in bass sound, and that's midi with the velocity and without, in a range where you said.

      @@EClipChannel but i think it's because of your sound system theres like a sort of feedback in the microphone
      giving flateness to the bass
