    Hi, thank you for the information I got today. I like to know for a non profit organization that have a very small budget like us, which of the platform will you advise us to make use of in building our website?

    Hi Amber! We have our website/domain and are up & running, thanks for these tips!!
    Do you have any tips for what type of Facebook page to create for my nonprofit? I began one as a private page and now want to move to public, so I have to start all over. Should I create a page from my personal FB or create a “fake” account and create the NP page from it?; Or is there a better option, like a business type page & choose nonprofit? I just want to make a wise move this time! Any help is greatly appreciated!!

    • @AmberMelanieSmith
      @AmberMelanieSmith  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      With a FB page you could assign multiple admins, if that helps. I do believe you have to create a business page from a personal page.

    • @rmgrunt4304
      @rmgrunt4304 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AmberMelanieSmith Thank you!! Yes, I am Pres/ED & we’re small, so I manage the page. Therefore, I believe it would be wise, with future growth in mind, to create a personal page strictly for creating our NP page and I put at least one other admin to help, (& in case anything happens that I can’t manage it). 🙂 I appreciate you!!!

    How much does it usually cost to have a basic website setup? And any suggestions on someone that can do it?

    • @AmberMelanieSmith
      @AmberMelanieSmith  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It can vary a lot! If you can build it yourself you can save a bit, and just pay for hosting / domain. If you are hiring someone to design it for you, could be anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand!

    Hi .
    Since we don't have a budget, is there any way around that we could build a free website?

    • @AmberMelanieSmith
      @AmberMelanieSmith  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are willing to learn how to build a website yes there are some ways to do it! But you still need to pay for a domain name (if you want one) and hosting, usually.

      I don't have a training on that specifically but do you have a website and donation processing system set up yet (like PayPal, Stripe, etc.?)? If so, they should have some great instructions on their site!

    Hi Amber. Does the number of followers in our facebook page matter? What's your opinion?

    • @AmberMelanieSmith
      @AmberMelanieSmith  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Growing your audience is important but only in the right way -- I would say engagement and relationships with your followers matter more. If you have 10,000 Facebook followers, but only a few talk to you, that may not help you raise funds or get volunteers.

    I have a nonprofit that I founded in 2000 overseas and in the US in 2014 but haven't been able to raise any funds for projects...just looking for a free resources to equip myself better. I feel I am good at actually doing the work but not so good at advertising and raising funds for ministry. I wonder if there are some trainings. our nonprofit can't hire folks to do those jobs so...just wondering

    • @AmberMelanieSmith

      Hello! Do you mean can a person receive help / support from a nonprofit? If so, yes! Nonprofits are meant to help people - just depends on what your needs are!

      @@AmberMelanieSmith,much appreciated your response,,but in a case where a surgery is needed is such help possible?-secondly if a person is not a member of the movement n also not in the country is such help possible?

    • @AmberMelanieSmith
      @AmberMelanieSmith  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@-pizza_boy- Ah, I understand. Nonprofits are structured to serve entire communities, not really to benefit / support a single person; they require a board of directors and to be accountable to the public. That doesn't mean you couldn't start a fundraiser or project to raise money for a single person's needs though!
