  • Hi everyone!
This video is the first in the series of Stephen Moore performing "The Kraken Wakes", by John Wyndham. Specifically this is part 1 of 16.
Stephen Moore of course played Marvin the Paranoid Android in the original radio series and the subsequent TV series, of "The Hitch-hiker's Guide to the Galaxy", as well as many other characters e.g. Gag Halfrunt. His all-round excellent reading voice helped make these the classics they are, and it is great to hear him put his talents to use again in this dramatic interpretation of "The Kraken Wakes".
Anyway, I hope you all enjoy this.

Alas , John Wyndham is almost forgotten today . He wrote
3 or 4 of the best Sci Fi novels of last 100 years . Now , only
to be found on Charity shop shelves for 20 p......a real bargain ..!

I have similar thoughts about Michael Moorcock when it comes to fantasy... and he is still alive!

Hello! This is such a good audiobook reading, in my top ten of all time. Thank you so much for uploading it. Thought I'd mention I've seen cassettes of Stephen Moore reading The Wizard of Oz on ebay uk. I can only imagine how wonderful that is.

Me too! It's just a shame some people are unable to cope with the thoughts and ideas from other time periods, unable to be aware of how they differ from those of the current day and yet still enjoy great story crafting. God help them if they ever come across H. Rider Haggard ;)
