Watch me put Kryolan DermaColor to the test as I apply it to my birthmark for the first time.

Hey Darya! Thank you for watching! The palette I have was put together specifically for me with the colors that work for me so you have to buy all the small pots and palette individually to get the one I have. It is best to get matched to get the right colors that work for your skin tone but here are the names of the colors I have if you want to look into them.

Hi Mel! Thank you so much for watching! Red, orange, peach (and sometimes yellow) work best for dark skin as they neutralize dark brown and purple. As I don’t know exactly what type of skin you have my best advice is for you to email DermaColor/Kryolan and describe your needs to them, if you have oily or dry skin and what color foundation you use in other brands. They have specialists that can tell you what formula should work for you and help you pick the right colors. If you like full coverage foundation then the camouflage creme is excellent but I understand not everybody wants that. I’d love to hear how you get on with it if you decide to try it and hope you’re able to come back here and share your experience. 😃

Hi! Thank you for watching! The amount of powder to use depends on each person as we are all different so figure out what works best for you. Also the powder can be stackes because it is designed to work with the foundation and is different from a regular drugstore setting powder that is meant to only be used once at the end.

I've been using these Dermacolor for like 8 years now, and I get it for free from the Doctors. So anyone in the UK, that has a problem like this lady then it's free just go in and ask for the referral all they do is a send you to the local hospital who have a little room and they will show you which ones for your skin. its waterproof with fixing powder also free.

Hi Sandra! I live in a very cold country so have never worn it in very hot climates. It does last very well in humid conditions though in my experience, especially if you set it well with powder and setting spray. Thank you for watching! 😃 🎉

Sorry but what is spurious? Never heard of it. If it’s discoloration or scars then yes it will work to cover it. The most difficult thing to cover is bumpy texture. Thank you for watching. 😊

Hi yanu! It will definitely help cover the color of strawberry legs but it has a harder time covering scars completely. Although it does do it better than regular foundations. Skin texture is one of those things that hasn’t been solved by makeup science yet but here’s hoping for something in the future! Thank you for watching! 😃 🎉

@@maria-bk7ez hi Maria! A primer is not needed but if you want to try one your best bet is to use an oil based primer as the cream is oil based. I've hear good things about Smashbox oil primer and even just using rosebhip oil on the skin before application. Hope that helps, 😃🎉

Ooo which shop did you go to to get colour matched in London? I went to a camouflaging appointment for my neck scars but am not sure they colour matched me correctly. Btw, you look so gorgeous with and without the makeup!
Thank you so much for the kind words. The store I went to was called Charles H Fox and was at 22 Tavistock street in Covent garden but I just Googled to confirm and it looks like they changed their name and moved. Now it's called Kryolan city and is at 7-8 Langley CT, London, WC2E 9JY. Definitely check them out for color matching as its very important to get the right shade or combination of shades. I hope they can help.

Hi Khushi, yes the product does help with scars and pores. With scars you need to fill in the scar by applying only a little bit of foundation, pat it on (not rub) then powder it, let it set for a couple of minutes then repeat the steps until the scar is hidden, then you put foundation on the whole face.
What will also help is getting either a sticky primer (for example NYX Honey Dew Me Up) that helps with scars or you can try a pore filling primer (for example ELF poreless putty primer) that helps with pores. It's all about practice until you find what works for you.

Hi! Thank you for watching! 😊 No problem, my lip is like that because of the birthmark. The amount of micro blood vessels there expand the area of skin and can keep growing over time. My lip has been pretty much the same since I was a kid as I've had pretty regular treatments through my life but no two birthmarks behave exactly the same, some people never notice a growth and never have any treatment and some have multiple treatments and never see a difference. Hope this helps. 😊

Hi Amara, thank you so much for watching! I use the red concealer to cover up blue tones in my birthmark. If I only use green the overall coverage turns out gray. While it looks like I’m putting both in the same places I actually put them on different spots before blending them together. I definitely understand that it looks a bit confusing and my routine has changed a bit since I filmed this video so I will include a more in depth explanation in my update video. Thanks again! 😃 🎉

How long did it last
Do you mean through the day? It lasts for 8+ hour (never worn it longer than that) and my face does not get as shiny as it does with regular foundations. Thank you for watching my video. Unfortunately I was helped by an associate at the London store so I don't have experience matching it for others online but I suggest these three options:
1. Write to the Kryolan online store and ask them for help matching you by telling them what shades you use in other brands. Sometimes they may even be able to send you samples to try.
2. Buy their mini camouflage palette that's closest to your skin tone. It has a variety of shades in it and can help you narrow down the colors.
3. If you do decide to buy the cream without trying the mini palette first I recommend getting at least two shades so you can blend them together if neither is an exact match.
Hopefully this helps you out at least a little bit. I'd love to hear how you get on with it.

Thank you so much for your review, is it very useful I have hyperpigmentation and I wpuld like to know if Kryolan derma color makeup maintains its resistance against water and sweat if it is sealed with a powder and a fixing spray from different brands?
Hi! Thank you for the question. I have used Coty Airspun powder with dermacolor and as it has the same main ingredient (talc) as the dermacolor powder it has held up pretty good. I've also used Too Faced Hangover RX setting spray and it worked fine. A good rule if you're going to use another brand is to look up the original product ingredients online and then pick the replacement product based on those main ingredients. Both the dermacolor powder and setting spray have some high end ingredients specific to long wearing / camouflage makeup and they have obviously been designed to work with their cover creme so if you're going for extreme long wear cover they are worth considering. Another tip is to make sure whatever you are wearing under the makeup isn't an oil based product and if you have oily skin, a primer that minimizes oil production as oil breaks down the products. Hope that helps! 😃

Hey! I work at kryolan here in the netherlands! Great to have you review this. If i might give a suggestion.... i think you dont need the last green layer.. i am a MUA myself and i actually never use green as a corrector. Most of the times red discoloration is more on the purple, or blue side. What happens when you put green (a cool color) on top of purple (also a cool color) you end up having to correct all of the coolness away. Experiment with what dufferent colors can do for you, and again, thanks for your review!! Lots of love!

@@Kriziaisha a lot of port wine stains have a lot of purple in them. Go for a more yellow-y orange color as this is opposite of purple/blue. Work in thin layers and powder in between layers with the dermacolour setting powder

Is it waterproof??
Hi, it's highly water resistant. How well it lasts on the face depends on each person's skin chemistry and what products are worn under and on top of it. It is in the top 5 foundations that are long wearing, sweat and water resistant, but unfortunately there is no way of knowing how iit works for someone without them trying it. Hope this helps. 😊
I am a young man who has a birthmark on my face and I cannot use these things, what is the solution?
I used to work with a man who used this brand to cover scars on his face, it was not obvious that he was wearing it at all and he was not ashamed of it, he was just more comfortable wearing it.
If you are not comfortable with a cover cream and treatment isn't for you for whatever reason the solution lies within you and being comfortable facing the world as who you are, loving yourself and not letting anyone else make you feel bad about it. Nobody else has the right to make you feel bad about your birthmark. It saves a lot of time in life when you see people for who they are based on how they treat you. If someone judges you for your birthmark they are not good people and you don't need them in your life. I hope this helps.

Hi!!, i would like to ask you, I had and accident when I was a child and I have a scar that has a very similar look with the one you have in your forehead (like yellow) near of my lips, for what I know when scars are yellow I must put on a purple corrector and later the foundation, I want to know if this foundation could work for me because is very thick for what I see, the normal foundations don't cover my scar. If you can include something of this in your next review would be great, there's no so much reviews of foundations for scars like that.

Hi! Thank you for watching my video. From what I hear Chile is very beautiful! I’d love to visit one day! 😊 To answer your question: Yes, this does work very well for scars. I used to work with a man who used it on a large scar on his forehead and it worked so well that I didn’t even notice he had a scar until he pointed it out to me! As you mention, color correction is part of it but also, the process of covering scars is a little bit different from covering a birthmark. Yes this foundation is thick but what I know, the key is to use only a little bit at a time, do it in many, light, layers and using powder in between the layers to smooth out the scar texture. Have you tried that? I’d love to hear your tips if you’ve figured out something that works well for you using regular foundation.

I realize it's a very good tip, I'm going to try it! but first I'm trying to find out the correct color for me in kryolan's foundation jaja. Do you think it's neccesary to used the fixing powder? they have 5 colors and I'm not sure wich one to use, i was thinking in a P1 because It seems to be translucid but I'm not so sure, do you use the fixing powder of this brand or do you think that it's not so neccesary? In a blog I read that it's good to smooth out irregularities on the surface of the skin (like scars) with a kind of gel called PERFECT MATT from Kryolan before the foundation, do you know about it?
Answering your question, I have always used "Total Cover from L'oreal" and it's a bit thick but it doesn't work for normal scars (you know that scars have a different color and skin) and when I put the foundation instead of covering the scar tends to mark her even more xD. The same thing happens to me with Wet n Wild photofocus, it's and amazing foundation but it doesn't work for my scar. So as you can see, I am a little frustrated and have given up a bit on the subject (I even used covermark once) . This is my last try and I hope it works. You give me a bit of hope with the story of the man you knew used this foundation on his scar. So, I'll be waiting your answer and your next video please jeje, and of course you are very welcome to my country! it's very beautiful, about all the south, has amazing places to visit like Patagonia, Torres del paine, Valdivia, Frutillar, islands like Rapa Nui, Chiloe, etc...Just for curiosity, are you from England? The fixing powder from Kryolan is very good, I use the translucent one, but I don't think it's necessary for the method were talking about. What you need is very finely milled powders for it as if the powder is too coarse it will turn into a goopy mess when you try to layer it. So if you already have a finely milled powder you should definitely be able to use that! No need to buy a new one if you can use what you already have.
I haven't tried the perfect matt gel from Kryolan but I may just order it and give it a try! Thank you for bringing it to my attention. It sounds like it's intended to work similar to a texture filling primer which is definitely something that can help with scar camouflage. If you already have a primer (sticky primers are better to build on) try putting it on your scar before the first layer of sculpting foundation, build up a few cover layers with powder and foundation and only put on your full face foundation after you've covered/smoothef the scar. It sounds like you maybe have been putting on your regular foundation first and then trying to cover the scar after? It's best to start with the scar.
Please don't lose hope! There is a method/product out there that will work for what you need it to do but I know that sometimes the search for the right method can be frustrating. Hugs to you! ❤️😊

I have really bad pitted scars on my checks, just started last year and I am very insecure about it. The only thing that seemed to help with healing the scarring was medicube skincare which came all the way from Korea/China! The medicube zero pore stuff as well as collagen stuff. BUT I have finally found something to help conceal my spots and is so creamy that you can put stuff over it and it not get cakey (but I just use this all by itself because it fills and covers THAT GOOD!) I don't even know if it was meant for the reason I use it (because it actually fills in my Holes/spots!!!) I have to buy some more actually... I got it as a sample I'm my allure box one month. Let me find it and tell you what it was. (it saved me to actually go out, and not be insecure too because it literally covered it up and filled in the spots.) It's called SMOOTH+BLUR PRIMER BY SEPHORA. well the bottle says "diffuses the look of imperfections" so I guess it is meant for acne scars. Either way, it works amazingly and is the only thing that has actually helped to cover my "pits" And I just apply to my problem spots with my fingers. Although since I started washing my face daily with CeraVe face wash and use the medicube zero pore and collagen stuff... I am finally leaving the house more again. I never dealt with acne, EVER and now all of a sudden @ 30yrs old I started getting these spots (kind of like big round black head spot, but there "pitted") I dunno. It can really affect self esteem. So I HIGHLY recommend you trying these products - and if anything at least try that ***Sephora smooth+blur primer.*** You won't regret it, I promise!! And it doesn't make break outs worse. It's very smooth! But thick enough to build in the acne scars, because it almost dries in the scars... I dunno if that makes sense. But it's a good silky thickness primer that is tinted like cream almost.. I hope this helps!!! And will you also do a review of this OP!? I swear I wish the word would spread to everyone struggling with pitted acne scars to try it! I wish someone told me about this stuff long ago. People always recommended stuff that covers "acne" when people ask, but nothing ever covers acne *scars* and just made it look worse and cakey by the dry skin spots- but anyways.... who would have guessed that just a primer would work like a concealer?! ❤️

I know this will help with discoloration from scarring but I wish I could find something to fill in or lesson the appearance of texturized, pitted scarring as well. I will definitely give it a go!
