I can't believe this is the lesson for today!!! I have been wanting to learn how to paint on glass ... Many thanks to you. I love your style of teaching and how generous you are. God bless you ...
Wow lovely to see you both showing us how to paint on glass, love to see more of your painting techniques in future videos, much appreciated from a newbie in the Uk trying to learn glass panting.
I didn't have a chance yet to watch this video from start to finish and it seems to be exactly what I want to watch and try. doing a stained glass search there's too many hobby style projects. Thanks so much
Yes indeed. This paint is a professional-style paint product. It's permanent and actually becomes part of the glass. Thanks for watching! We have a live stream Q&A every Monday at 7pm EST, to answer any questions you may have about this process.
Last question, lol,...this may sound silly, but once your paint is fired on and cooled, when you go to clean up your panel and wax it, you don't have to worry about the paint coming off while washing? I use whiting after I wax to get a really nice clean surface. That's a little abrasive, so, I was just wondering??? Thank you for all you share, I feel like I'm learning so much! :)
Once fired keep the chemicals and glazing/whiting away from the painted pieces. Putty by hand on the painted pieces. The whiting can discolor the paint to a grey. Otherwise the paints are permanent and a part of the glass. I hope this helps!
I am sooooo happy I found this! Thank you so much for sharing! I have been wanting to be able to do this for a long time and I'm finally to the point where I probably can, since I've worked with my kiln for a while now. So excited and love your videos! :-) But I do have a question, are you all using fusible glass to heat in kiln? (I use Bullseye, and I'm assuming you use that type of glass for any pieces you need to put in the kiln, but I want to double check)
Just to clarify, on the scroll piece, you painted the black trace around first and fired it....then you painted over the whole glass piece to cover everything? When the paint dried, that's when you scratched away your paint layer for shading?
Hi - just branching out into glass painting from stained glass & glass engraving. I don't have a kiln & because of my situation, won't be able to use one where I'm at. I've used oven baked glass paints a few times so my question is can I bake Rouche paints in a kitchen oven? My other question is: I understand after using the black lining, you do your first firing. Now do you do a second firing after laying down your yellow/gold color before putting the shading on? If not, how do you keep from scraping away the gold color along with the shading by accident?
I have seen paints that you can put n your microwave to make them permanent. I don't have a kiln and was wondering if the paint you use in this video can also be put in a microwave to set it?
Wow super cool have always wondered how the painting was done on the glass. I don’t have anything to fire it in do you have any suggestions on something I could start with. Just do stain glass for a hoppy.
Thanks for your dedication to teach. Beautiful work. Probably is a silly question but I don’t have a kiln. Is there a technique for painting the glass without the kiln. 🤔
Hi, do you wax the pieces after firing to get them to appear black? I had a go and out the kiln the paint is grey on the surface. What sort of wax is used?
@@ARTyRV it went up to 660 for firing. Ive tried it many times different temperatures and always the same.. the black when painted and dried looks grey and when fired looks grey. I alway mix to a lump to paint too so should be super concentrated 😩
@@ARTyRVI'd like to try and create a religious style window. It seems that people like yourselves use regular glass to recreate and replace the broken pieces. What is the glass like in those older windows. They seem smooth from looking at them. I'm sure they might be a little more like a seedy or antique style. Thanks for the great videos.
hi ! thank you for the video, but i would like to ask if you know which website to buy these paint, i couldn't find their official reusche paint webite, if you know where is the best website for them, please share a link with me , thank you very much
Love you Ed & Barb! I'm new to your channel. Maybe as stupid question, but have yall used Peobeo paints instead of firing? Regular people like me--that's over my head. Awesome videos. Subscriber
You use a latex (gum Arabic) based paint on glass.I use a latex based paint (acrylic latex interior house paint or chalkboard paint from the dollar store) on non absorbent surfaces like glass, plastic or holographic laser foil because latex paint dries stretchy not stiff and therefore latex paints don't crack on non absorbent surfaces

We use fusing compatible glasses when we are fusing pieces together. Otherwise we use a different type of glasses when painting on glass.
Excellent video!
Thank you!
Guys could you recommend a small kiln suitable for within a home - thank you

Yes exactly!

Unfortunately, no. You will need low fire paints.
You fire between each layer of color. The color then becomes permanent.
@@ARTyRV thank you.
Thank you soo much!!!

I have seen paints that you can put n your microwave to make them permanent. I don't have a kiln and was wondering if the paint you use in this video can also be put in a microwave to set it?
I would have liked an answer to that too.
Hi Faith! The paints we use must got 1250 degrees. If your kiln goes to that temp you are good.
Wow super cool have always wondered how the painting was done on the glass. I don’t have anything to fire it in do you have any suggestions on something I could start with. Just do stain glass for a hoppy.

Look for low- fire paints. They are not as durable but can be fired in your oven. Thanks for watching!
+Sharon Holmes low fire paints fire in the oven.
Thankyou
You’re welcome 😊

what if we don't have a kiln? can we still use the reusche colors and gum arabic?? can we bake those at a home oven without burning the place up?
The Reushe paints must be kilnef fited. Thete are othwr paints that cure in the oven or microwave though.
This maybe a dumb question but, is this just regular glass? Could any stained glass go in the kiln or do I need a specific COE for this technique?
Any glass (not tempered or mirrored) Thanks for watching!

Yes Pebeo glass paint fires in a microwave amzn.to/48ewDS3
Thanks for answering. 😊
This Pebeo paint can be used for exterior project ?
Hi, do you wax the pieces after firing to get them to appear black? I had a go and out the kiln the paint is grey on the surface. What sort of wax is used?
The paint is black when fired. Not sure why your piece is Grey. What temp did you fire to?

+Jennifer Vane-Stobbs what paints are you using? What is the color? There are several blacks.
@@jennifervane-stobbs6681 what paints are you using?
Would you share your firing schedule, 8 segments?
Keep an eye on those finger prints on the back. Seen a few fired projects go sideways that way.
I know I have been checking all day!
Thanks for watching and have a great weekend!
Goodnight. I am from Brazil. What type of glass is recommended, since the oven will be used?
Good day, you can paint on any glass. Clear window glass is best. It must be cleaned well.

Different animal. We fire our paints in a kiln and they become part of the glass. This paint is permanent.
