I love how you refer to Campbell Gray as someone with “more experience” and not one of the debutants😂. I get what you means of course, but it tells you where our list is at if he’s getting considered because he has “more experience “. 😂 Ps. I agree with your choices 👍
Totally agree with Smillie and Lalor and not making either of them a sub it just kills the vibe if your going to give someone a shot them give them a shot not this you might go on you might not mindset for debut.
I want to see the 2nd and 3rd year players get more of a run Fawcett to debut. McAullife and Campbell expanded role. Smith a run down back as a halfback. You can't cheat years in the system. The young kids need two off seasons to build muscles and two FULL preseasons to get AFL fit.
I think we will see McAullife and Campbell get much more game time, I don't think they will miss out. I don't think playing some of the new draftees is cheating years in the system, end of the day of they are offering more talent wise and development wise and form warrants it, they should be picked.
@@BigFootyTigerscast i have no issue with kids playing if they earn it. What i mean by 'cheat the system' is my expectation of an individual player grows with the number of off seasons and preseasons. So our 2nd year players I expect to see improvement and third year guys like Banks and Sonsie who have had no major injuries, it's their time to shine.
Might be worth keeping track of, but with these clips, i wonder if there will be a correlation between when Doozy comes in through the Doggy door & the topics being discussed turn out to be true or not. Could Doozy be the new Oracle?
I am pretty sure Smillie will play round 1, already has a good engine running 2k time-trial 6.38 at the combine and despite what people say he is actually pretty quick for someone that is 195cm. Lalor imo has to be played if he has no setbacks & is fit, needs to improve his tank but he will be playing more forward than midfield. we didn't get these guys to play VFL... And I think it would be a mistake not to get as much games into them as possible & rest if need be assess the situations. Faull is most likely out of others, and I think Armstrong & Hotton will play 2nd half of the year. could debut earlier depending on injuries & health of the list and form in the 2s.
Smillie a 🔒 Either on the wing or HB rolling through mid. Would love to see Armstrong or Faull on a HFF and let Kosi be the battering ram and split packs with Lynch deep. Lalor to a Fwd pocket.
Our continued injury outs will mean one or two will get games early, but exactly who will depend on shorter term injuries among the squad. Give them a taste (‘a cup of coffee’ in baseball lingo) and then back to the VFL.
Good call on Smiley …love to see Faull..please don’t play S Ryan unless he has changed his game he is inept..whines , can’t mark and gets out bodied …assuming an average year of injuries how many wins ?
Agree on Sampson Ryan. For someone of his height, he isn't a presence in the air and gets out bodied too easily and winges and drops his head. I'd rather see Cambell Gray or Liam Fawcett given a go. I also saw that Jacob Blight won our time trial which was very impressive for a big man.
@@georgepappas4628 💯💯💯..unless I see a massive improvement he won’t play much this year…at best he has minor moments in games…the other one I can’t work out is sonsie…no natural position or key attributes …
Wouldn't Dion Prestia be a ready made sub, it may give him a few more years.
Yeah possibly, can definitely see him playing as sub and being managed a bit more during the year!
Dion would be a perfect sub, but only for a midfielder… Not sure if he has the versatility to play many other positions on the ground
Liam Fawcett is looking like an absolute beast right now, put on a ton of muscle
dude needs a protein powder sponsorship. Big as a house.
He has turned into a massive unit!! Will be keeping a close eye on him..

fans hate subs as debut... coaches love it. Heard several coaches say they are in favor of it.
Yeah just let them play and enjoy the moment! Having a debut as a sub stinks.
100% agree on the sub issue. Can't stand teams making first gamers wear the vest
yeah not a fan at all!
Sub is apparently going. It’s a 5 man bench to be confirmed in the next week or so
Only one for me- Smillie. He’s the most ready. Lalor MIGHT but won’t be as a mid as a forward maybe. Think the rest start in the VFL
Lalor I reckon is a very good chance but as a half forward with MAYBE small stints in the middle.
Exactly how I’m reading it. Hotton will need a block of footy in the VFL first and the rest are basically talls they all need time.

I think trainor will be our best first year player
I really really think this could happen too. he could be the pick of the bunch.

Agree with all of that. Lalor at half forward early days makes sense!

Would be great to see 1 of Armstrong or Faull as well!
100% Smillie was a HB as a junior. made the under 16 all australian side as a HB
Faull will be one as well unless Koschitzke has a breakout pre season if he doesn’t Faull will be another , Lefau won’t be ready yet
Apparently Lefau is front runner to make his return early from the ACL which shocked me!

But I wouldn’t be disappointed to see none of them initially. Most draftees need a few preseasons under their belts to be competitive physically.
really hoping our injuries woes are behind us now with the new fitness team in charge!
@ we still have a ‘rehab squad’ who won’t be ready for R1, grrrr.

If we have a semi decent run with injuries I reckon we could win 4 - 6 games. No idea which ones though ha ha.
No reason we can’t at least split North games so there’s one, we will beat Essendon once at least. There’s always a couple of weird ones (always is).

I think Sonsie, Ryan, and Kosinckze are playing for their football futures next year
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
If Sam’s hammys r ok he plays with Smille
Jonty fault debut rnd 1 is best of talls
