Yeah. IDK what high expectations I was holding when King of the Beasts, Kaido, fell from that Sky Island. But I can safely safe that he surpassed those unrealistic heights I set. He really is the Strongest Creature.

Crazy how it has been four years since we last saw his snake man transformation. Luckily the return did not disappoint. They be going crazy with the animation in this Wano arc.

I mean to be absolutely fair, this would 100% be the finisher for almost any other fight. Hell, most people wouldn't be out of line to assume Kaido either outright died there, or at least was out of commission for a while.

For days I was looking on forums trying to see if that move actually defeated Kaido or not lol. I literally thought he was gonna come back the next chapter ready for more. Oda did a great job of making Kaido feel like an unstoppable force

Both Katsumi Ishizuka and Akihiro Ota did a fantastic job with this scene. Ishizuka did the storyboard and Ota the animation, both of them are super talented.
Since the start of Wano Ishizuka became a staple of OP, whenever he's involved in an episode you know it'll be legendary same with Ishitani obviously.
I love Ota’s style, the wiggly lines that on the face and especially the aura make the characters expressive and keeps the attacks powerful, its masterful
Ota's been around since Dressrosa, he did the shot of Luffy running from the giant toy soldiers up the steps. It really feels like he stepped out of his shell during World trigger's last season because ever since, he's just gone absolutely nuts

It was 4 years ago when Luffy first activated the Gear 4 Snakeman and finally today we get to see Luffy's best gear again. Akihiro Ota did the animation of the last scene, props for him.

When two forces of nearly same power battle each other, it doesn't end immediatly, the battle goes on BECAUSE they are both strong.
Akihiro Ota handled this cut and he didn't miss one bit. I also believe he assisted on episodes 1025 to 1033. Hope to see more of his work in future episodes.

What I like the most about this is the the intention at which Luffy comes at Kaido. No warm up no warning just straight hands flying.

@@cantouchdis6980 Sorry to burst your bubble, but those words "Sakuga" and "Key animation" Aren't really special words. They're animation jargon.
Every scene in One Piece has "Sakuga." The west has given it this strange secondary meaning to only talk about animation that stands out, but it literally just means "Drawings." Same with Key animation.
Key animation is just the drawings (Key Frames) that sculpt the overall movement of a shot. versus Inbetweens which are drawings added between the keys that fill in the movement to make it more smooth. You don't generally get smooth movement without inbetweens so Gotta show love to the unnamed inbetween artists too.

One Piece and Mob Psycho are in a league of their own when it comes to animation sequences. AKIHIRO OTA IS GOATED for animating this scene my god and ISHIZUKA IS GOATED for the storyboard.
The fck are you talking about? They keep repeating the exact same animation scene between Gogeta and Broly, only with One Piece characters superimposed over the DBZ characters instead.
They've just reused the same scene about 8 times in a row. I knew exactly what was about to happen before I even watched the clip. Oh and spoiler alert, I know exactly what's gonna happen in the next fight they animate (exactly the same as this)
