Leigh thanks for the compliment. We want to give everyone the benefit of the doubt - keep in mind no one has proven his story otherwise. People keep referring to the Green Beret Society and a Lee Cole interview where that man(The Green Beret) does not identify himself and wears a mask which makes it very difficult to make determinations. We could not verify the Viet War claims as Tony’s records are sealed and probably fro good reason. The family pronounces the name as they please. You don't know the "correct" pronunciation. You think it's pronounced how you've heard it pronounced most or first. Furthermore when people come from Italy it gets changed by Ellis Island or the family themselves for one reason or another. You can spell your last name S.M.I.T.H and pronounce it as "Fonteccio." That's how names work. Now you're trying to figure out how the "original" family name was pronounced? Don't bother.
