I have one. Its a Homelite but its the same splitter. Had it for probably a decade. I keep it in the garage to bust down kindling or just making anything smaller. I have another gas splitter. The little electric splitter works pretty good though. Nothing I would want to use for all my wood though would kill my back hunched over using it unless I set it up on a bench or something
I’ve run over 8 cord thru my 5 ton harbor freight splitter and it just keeps going ! For the cost ya just can’t go wrong with either of these . Most of the 5 ton splitters are all Made in the same plant with different names / paint
I have a homelite that I use to split 15 - 20 cords a year for the past 8 years. Still runs like a champ. I split off the back of my tailgate as it's the perfect height for me and my splits then fall into the bed so I don't have to bend over so much.
I have never understood why they do not make the wedges a little taller. It seems like this is a 'issue' on a lot of splitters. Maybe there is a reason. I bought a County Line from Tractor Supply last year and have been pretty happy with it. Then I had to go to Lowes for something and saw the new Craftsman log splitters and saw how beefed up they were and wished I would have seen that first. Anyway I have the same issue, so many rounds need to be flipped around to fully separate it. Another benefit to a longer wedge is it would be easier to split two smaller pieces at a time to help speed things up.

Great, informative video bro. That thing definitely punches above it's weight. Now you've got me considering the purchase of one.
We are still blown away every time it splits something that I’m sure it can’t… Tracey did good on this purchase!
I have a homesite that's 10 years old. It runs like a champ. Just gotta keep up with checking hydrolic fluid
Thank you
You’re welcome

Harbour freight/princess auto sell a stand for their model that might work for you. I've got mine up on a stand, but the table space is pretty small
@@CityDeparture Its alright. I only use it for splitting kindling

@@vic2796 They really are tougher than you’d think. I really never wanted a log splitter, but now I’m addicted. 😁

The short wedge is the only thing that drives me crazy.
Don’t feel bad the one on my much more expensive gas one isn’t much bigger.
if you put the piece of 4x4 on the other side of the ram... you still save the 3.5" of travel but won't beat up the 4x4.
When you're splitting a big log by hand, just split two inches off the sides all the way around. Much easier and faster.
