Being Young and Making an Impact: Pie Alvarez at TEDxKatipunanAve

As the youngest female mayor in Philippine history at age 22, Maria Carmela Alvarez, or Pie, has worked to make her hometown of San Vicente, Palawan climate-resilient and a prime ecotourism destination. Challenging stereotypes of traditional politics in the Philippines, Pie talks about how having young blood in public service can turn the country's future around in her humorous yet inspiring TEDx talk.
