It's not a v6 and it doesn't have twin turobs. It's an inline 6 with twin scroll turbos which is a big difference.
Glad someome pointed out that BMW doesnt make V6 motors.
This guy is clearly clueless and knows nothing about engines. Also, BMW recommends 91 octane or higher for the B58 engine.

As an X7 M50I owner with only 13000 miles on it, I can say that this review is not valid. First of all, BMW owners especially M owners could care less about fuel economy. For the base Xdrive40i version, it doesn't have a V6, it has an inline 6, so you have to do your research before saying something. And when you say that this car spends more gas then competition, that's obvious and competition don't offer as much reliability, performance and luxury, so you have to remember what class you're shopping in. Second, not having as many hard buttons is just called innovation and I do not know of someone who would complain about the amount of options on this outstanding vehicle, and when you say that people don't use half of the options on their vehicle, that's not the car's fault, that's the owners fault. For instance, when I got my X7 I sat in it for 2-3 hours figuring out what everything does (you get a owners manual for a reason yk?), and I love everything it has to offer and even want more from it. Third, you keep talking about how you dump so much money and on the next day they facelift it and make it better, listen if you can't afford something that changes often and gets better or you just don't like that things change just buy a horse. Things get newer and if nothing would then we would still live like in the 1600s. Lastly, I find this review useless and stupid, because you never actually talked about the car, it's luxury interior, third row space (which is massive) cargo space, and any of the features(not even the drive modes) and all you said about them is that there are too many and that people don't use half of them.

been an owner of BMW X7 LCI about a year and so far the only reason I wouldn't recommend the car to others is its gigantic size. Other than that, the car is an absolute master piece. It's powerful, fast, agile thanks to rear wheel steering, and yet its super quiet and silky. Especially if you have children, X7 is the best option for a family SUV. I love this car and it's turned me into a huge fan of BMW.
I own the 2020 model (bought new) and I really like the car But it is true what he says about all the technology on it. I Use Maybe 50% of what is on the car. Great car for my family to travel (5 persons)!😊
i have x5 and we are getting third baby, i was thinking to upgrade to bmw x7 40d its bigger and has 7 seats. I use this Family SUV only for holiday its around 2000km one way so wee need the comfort. idk is it worth it ?
Im with you its a solid unit of a vehicle best family car Ive owned since I gave up on honda pilots the x7 feels sturdy and well made dnt have any complaints.

When you’re making videos reviewing cars, if you’re doing it for the right reasons (love for cars, to inform and educate) you don’t have to make two separate videos, you list the pros and cons in one video.
Sounds to me like he’s after the views more than anything then, which is nothing wrong or bad, but the content is not accurate at all.

I own a 2020 x7 myself, bought it new. Some things he says in video are true But it’s a real Nice car for highwaycruising. We Use the car to Go on hollidays. Took it to croatia, spain, italy, france, germany,…(we live in belgium). Good milage and still pretty fast on highways😊

This may be some of the stupidest reasons I ever heard for not buying the X7. The only one that is valid, is the high depreciation.
Fair point. High depreciation is the factor with most of the cars out there these days.
With all do respect to your opinion;
1. All cars loose value the moment you drive them out the dealership.
2. If you can afford a luxury SUV of that value, specially if you’re a fan of the brand, are getting the best model and know about high performance engines, you’re not worried about gas prices be cause you know the moment you get that type of vehicle, you’ll be fueling it with 93 octane gasoline for the best care and performance of the engine.
3. You’re not obligated to use all the features a car offers just because they’re included but there is nothing better than finding more and more cool features as if they were Easter eggs with time as you get to know your car, makes it feel like when you first bought it 😊
4. Wear and tear? Aging? All depends on the owner and the usage, mantainance and good care is the key for any car regardless of the brand.

Depreciation? As a 3 time Mercedes owner, BMW has waaayyyy better depreciation than Mercedes and Mercedes is more expensive. It's also an inline not a twin turbo.

Drove MB GL and GLS since 2007, just traded over to BMW X7 - leather vs m-tex, better tech, can’t see much difference in gasoline mileage but better ride so far!

orientation of the cylinders e.g. inline, V, L, W, boxer (horizontal), etc. and the number of turbos/scrolls are unrelated.
X7 40i is an inline 6, twin scroll turbo...

Bro I have owned an x7 for almost 2 years and I am not sure what you are talking about but this car is a true masterpiece, comfortable, fast and reliable, if you are buying an X7 to save money on gas then I don’t know what to tell you, you don’t buy this car to save money.

I respect your opinions, however, the review is super flawed. The interior and features are not that different from other BMWs. If you are a BMW fan ( I am on my 14th BMW), then you will not have issues using all the features. All cars depreciate and BMW is not worse than any other. The reason I think the 2019-2022 have depreciated a little faster is because of the updated model. BMW cycle is usually 7 years, but they updated X7 to align with the new design (different conversation). I would buy 20-22 models is you want the classic look. I am not a fan of the updates. Gas... well don't buy such a car if you are going to worry about gas. If you are worried about gas money this is not a car for you. Overall, your review sounds like a buyer's remorse with no good reasons.
if I were looking for a fairly new x7, id go for a 22` with an I6. seems like the sweetspot in cost, reliability and design. and its easy to get more power out of them if one wish so

You know nothing about X7. People who buy X7 brand new will not burn regular unless 93 is not available. Tell me a BMW model currently using V6 engine and bi-turbo. You don't know that is correct because this combination currently not exist in BMW. Below 10k used old Toyota will not depreciate and regular 87 is so suitable for getting a 30mpg. That will just fits you so well.

Abraham, thank you for your review of the X7. I considered them before buying one. My wife and I looked at a lot of SUVs, and because of my recent back surgery, we put the comfort of the front seats and their positioning as our highest consideration. The Volvo XC90 and the. X7 had the most comfortable seating positions. We went with the X7 because its leather was real, versus a good simulation; and, we noticed a big difference in acceleration for passing between the 6-cylinder X7 and the 4-cylinder XC90. I am sure we would have been happy with either one. The X7, similarly equipped, cost about $5,000.00 more than the Volvo, but we felt that the X7 gave us more value Than the price difference; so, we went with the X7 had have so far been happy as it is very comfortable for long road trips. I write all this not to dispute your review. To the contrary, I understood all of your valid points. I only write the above for others who may be considering purchasing this vehicle, new or used, and the aspects of it (the comfortable seats, smooth ride, and quietness, mostly) that may make it a vehicle worth considering if one were to have the same needs as ours. Thanks again Abraham for your review, which we found useful to consider.

I drove an X7 around for a month before instead opting for a Chrysler Pacifica Pinnacle. While both had nice leather seats, a comfortable ride, captains chairs, TVs and killer sound systems, minivan had two things the bimmer doesn’t: an onboard vacuum and doors that slide open with a fob click.
Oh and did I mention it costs half?
The X7 is one fine SUV. But it’s still an SUV, and I got three kids.
All I’ve heard is one of the best BMW engines lots of space and if you can properly maintain it go for it, other wise stick to smth cheap or take the bus😂
my guy, what do you know about BMWs or cars overall? Depreciation on a luxury 3 row? All of them have the same "issue". Too many features for you to handle so you get overwhelmed? poor thing. Better all features than no features lolol. Outdated too fast like an iphone? Once again, thats all luxury brands that focus on the latest tech.
Your findings are very broad and basic. You can say that same thing about all luxury brands. Get a basic cheap brand with stock setup and you will have low depreciation, beginner level infotainment and controls, and slower outdating. If you go luxury, these problems will you have will always exist, it's part of the reason you buy luxury, is to have the latest and greatest at your disposal.

Hm… not sure about the comment… car did not change any big 2019 to 2023. the new face lift really on streets this year, which I would think is a typical life cycle for a car. On mileage, big car big engine will consume lots of gas when you try to drive fast shouldn‘t be a surprise to anyone. Buy car new is always dumb, get a used one for 45-55k better that any new car for the same price.

Here in the UK we don't even have gas. Secondly, it's BMW's luxury flagship suv model and is a hell of a boat to drive.
