Sheed was huge for that team before he went down. Game them legit size, offense and defense on the block. As soon as he went down, the Knicks went into struggle mode for like 40 games, then didn't get back on track until they picked up K-Mart who filled that same role well enough for their system to flow like they needed.
Starting to think Jason Kidd was the key to this team looking good. Once he left, they became a laughingstock again. Not a coincidence a Bucks team with 15 wins made it to the playoffs the following season with him as the coach.

NBA didn't want to risk the Knicks taking the Heat out of the playoffs (which they would have done) so they paid the refs during the Knicks- Pacers series to make bullshit calls.
