The Donald B. and Catherine C. Marron Atrium, second floor
Pipilotti Rist's lush multimedia installations playfully and provocatively merge fantasy and reality. MoMA commissioned the Swiss artist to create a monumental site-specific installation that immerses the Museum's Marron Atrium in twenty-five-foot-high moving images. Visitors will be able to experience the work while walking through the space or sitting upon a sculptural seating island designed by the artist.

this is one of the most wonderful exhibits i have ever been. go and bring someone you love! and make new friends yeah!
one of my new favorite artists. this exhibit was amazing. everyone should check it out.
well done. finally an art curator asking an official artist to create something that is up to date.....many video designers have created in this past ten years a lot of videoinstallations like this one.

How can it not be? Its experiential. Its reactive to the white cube, transforming it. Its a very social installation. She said in the interview that she is reconciling thinking and the body. These endeavors are very contemporary to art.
this looks great. wish i could make it over there to see it!
I remember going to see this last year, and was anyone else absolutely, inexplicably horrified? I had to run out of the atrium in full-on panic mode, bawling and just generally freaking out.
I blame the sounds, since after experiencing that I couldn't hear a low frequency noise without going through the same thing.
...am I alone on this one?
Did anyone see her "Visitor" sticker. Pretty funny...
