    The example of what an MMA champion should be. Always exciting fights, respects the sport and his opponents, and an outstanding member of his community. Shame the UFC didnt promote guys like Stipe and DJ. Actual role models.

      Omg stfu , if the ufc can promote who they want and make another mcgregor , they could’ve done that a LONG time ago , they could do that now , the reason , the reason that stipe and dj dont get more recognition is cause they don’t promote them selfs like Conor does .

    • @madgavin7568
      @madgavin7568 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      His skill-set made him championship quality for Heavyweight, but he wasn't a complete fighter lets be honest. He was well-rounded in that he had elite striking and wrestling, but there were key elements missing to his game in both areas.
      Most notably on the feet; kicking, even the shorter and fatter DC was a better kicker than Stipe was, his clinch game was pretty average as well. On the ground, it was submissions as Stipe doesn't have a single submission win in his pro career.
      If Stipe was versed in submissions, he could have gotten Francis out of there and potentially saved himself taking unnecessary damage even from a gassed Francis (who is still dangerous), which contributed to the KO loss to DC in his next fight.
      And yes age did eventually catch up to him.

    Stipe,considering his success is definitely the 🐐 of at least the heavyweight category,hands down!Underdog champ+he defended his belt for 3-4 time.No one EVER has done that!!And probably no one will ever manage to do that after Stipe.I'm so proud that we share the same/ Croatian origin 🇭🇷 🇺🇸 RESPECT FOR THE 🐐

    Great boxing, great grappling, great wrestling, great speed and accuracy.. everybody allways lose his mind thinking about chain ko artist or wrestling abusers, but the goats are allways complete and versatile fighters.
    But thats a bit strange that you didnt talked about the double thumb eye poke that leaded struve to the finish..

    Stipe has SO many haters. Just at the comments, every comment praising him has some little dildo replying to it talking crazy shit about him. I guess they just can't handle the fact that the greatest heavyweight mixed martial artist of all time was white, was American, was Catholic, and was a stand up blue-collar man.

    So how are we meant to pronounce 'Miocic'? Several different versions throughout his storied career. He's mint and as it stands, the greatest heavyweight. Although, I think Aspinall will take that mantle eventually.

    The embodiment of strong Ancient Croation Genes, Stipe falls in line with a long list of Croatian men and women who changed the world, Tesla, Belechek, Soldo, Djokjovic, Cro Cop, to name a few. A small country that has produced some of the most spiritual, intelectual, athletic, vicious fighters, that are the most caring, giving, and trustworthy people to back what they do with the greatest humility. Certainly a race of people that should be better understood and certainly emulated

    That match v Francis was awsome. I remember just being on the edge of my seat. It was like a man v a grizzly bear and Stipe tamed him. Francis has a friggin chin, guy took some big shots that likely would take out the average HW.

    Damn I remember his Debut and I remember thinking he was a serious Problem for the HW division lol I totally forgot about watching this fight Live (on TV lol not In Person) back in the day, thats wild. I forgot what he did to Mark Hunt, too. Damn man, I miss Stipe being super active he was a beast. Idk if he has it left to handle Aspinal, cuz he moves like Stipe in his prime, and has that in common with him too, the speed and Power/Precision.

    Miocic's 2nd fight with Francis was a miscalcuation, I remember he came in way too lean/light for the fight thinking he'd win against with speed but Francis had just improved so much with his Takedown defense and well his nucelar bombs on both hands proved that it was too much... but man what a run he had

    Man it’s like Dana, only likes characters or champions that talk shit , he’s always been overlooked, the ufc should have promoted him way more he broke the record. & he had to fight for a rematch against DC , And the way he adjusted mid fight with those body shots was a thing of beauty only a champ could do, hard working guy , lord knows how many lives he saved and fires he went into guys not afraid to fight he wanted jones 4 years ago jones just wanted him to get old before they fight witch will probably never happen
