My favourite part of this is that I GENUINELY cannot tell whether Laura is in-character as Jester while covering her mouth and looking away the entire time Beau and Yasha are talking, or whether she's just going full Travis out of secondhand embarrassment
I remember seeing in an interview, Laura saying she was embarrassed for how immature they were through the beginning to middle moments of Vaxleth in campaign 1...and here they're fighting so hard not to interrupt or make silly jokes during their moment. This was the pure seratonin we all needed. I will never say hello any other way ever again... Also thanks Laura Bailey for bringing shnuggle into my life.

I was watching Matt's face turn back and forth. I kinda want to see how the room is set-up to see if he's looking at the pair or at Marisha to get her reaction.
From what I understand they're basically in a big socially distanced C shape facing Matt. So from right to left (from Matt's perspective) it would be Marisha, Taliesin, Ashley, Sam, Laura, and then Travis. So if Matt's looking to his far right, he's looking at Marisha, if he's looking straight ahead it's Sam, and far left it would be Travis!
At it's most basic, a D&D game has people playing characters that go on various adventures, and when they come to make choices that have a chance of success or failure (attacking an enemy, moving a heavy obstacle out of the road, convincing an innkeeper or merchant to give them information etc. etc.) the player rolls a 20 sided die to see how successful or unsuccessful they are at it. A lot more dice are involved really but that's the gist of it. Critical Role is among many groups that are big on inter-character role playing like in this clip where nothing dice-rolly is happening but they're playing to the relationships their characters have with each other. I should probably add that these videos are just focused on the moments between Ashley and Marisha's characters and are probably VERY confusing to take on their own with zero context 😂 so I recommend the full episodes on the Critical Role channel if you want D&D that might make more sense.
ashley johnson really rolled a 7 for charisma when she was designing yasha and committed to that wholeheartedly
