I own the special edition Touring model. Have owned a lot of bikes in my time, and can say that it is really well built and performs extremely well. Very comfortable to ride and handles well. Very impressed, it is a keeper.
I have the touring model, it comes with quick shifter self cancelling indicators, heated seat and grips, centre stand, bash plate and hand guards. As well as the panniers its a great bike.
I ride a cfmoto 650 mt. Have the same problem between 1st and 2nd. Needs a real positive foot movement to click it into gear. Not a major issue and I’m well used to it now. Highly recommend CFmoto bikes.
A 790 KTM engine but 799cc capacity. Actually the engine is manufactured by CFMoto under licence as was the case when they made it for KTM. The difference now, is that they bought the rights to this engine and CFMoto own it, now.
The only thing you forgot was the KYB suspension in off-road they are the world leader ask any Yamaha MX or enduro rider nothing beats KYB SSS suspension
I don't know how they could be the world leader in suspension. I checked out all the CF Moto''s at my local dealer and none of them had any kind of suspension that I could discern. Push down on any other brand's rear rack - anything - Africa twin, triumph bobber whatever and the bike responds with a plush movement. Not the CF. I specifically went there to take serious look at the ibex sat on it and could hardly get the suspension to budge. I got down to look at the ridiculously difficult to get at shock and it was at its lowest preload setting as we're the forks. The salesman was dumbfounded as was I. At 135 lbs I would like my bike to have some real suspension and that includes full adjustability. I really wanted to like this bike but it failed the first test. How can they even arrive at any standover height if there is no sag adjustment.
It was following your review of the CF Moto 650MT that I bought one and it's been such a capable bike for six grand. I have had my eye on the 800 since so nice to see your review rating it so well. Great presentation yet again fellas.
I’ve liked how these bikes looks from the first moment I saw them. I haven’t seen too many reviews, but the ones I have watched have been positive. I’ll have to watch your other reviews now. 😁👍
That was a really good, comprehensive review. I like this look of this bike and the value is hard to beat. I have a short leg so it may be too tall. Guess I will need to test one. Ride safe.
I would love to test ride (demo) one of these. Problem is they're not available for test rides here in Canada unfortunately. At least not yet in my area, it seems. Too bad :(
That is a really nice looking bike and I am sure the quality will be exactly as good as it needs to be competitive with the competition. With the equipment and technology it does seem fantastic value. Happy Christmas, keep up the great videos.
Best review I,v seen so far.In January,I am going to test ride and hopefully order 800MT touring model, then all going to plan when I have it broken in and the first services done I hope to take it on a tour to Spain and Portugal for 6 weeks.I am really looking forward to it
Thanks 👍🏻i drive also this bike. I also be extremly impressed. I love my R1200GS Rallye, but CFMOTO makes everthing good👍🏻 and i can get two of that for one GS😟
What a great review. I love the motorcycle I think I like the touring version a little better with spoke wheels. And I think the comedic banter between you two is fantastic. 🎉
Touring model adds wire spoked wheels, centre stand, sump guard, quick shifter, hand guards, heated grips, heated seat. For the extra money over the Sport, it's a no brainer, especially with the 4 year parts and labour warranty.
They finally have these at my closest dealer in Missouri, US. Different name though… Ibex. That’s a goat, right? Is that an okay thing to name a bike? Anyway you have convinced me to go see them (name and all) Great review. Thank you!
although they are different bikes, this one is awesome, the price balanced at what you get is immense! Its a tough call, but probably the CFMoto for us ;)
That looks like a great package. My only concern is if it’s a KTM motor and electronics as KTM are building an unenviable reputation for electronic reliability issues. If this proves reliable and comfortable, they have a winner on their hands.
Do you both sign the loaner/insurance docs. for each bike at the dealer so you can swap bikes for the return journey? Is it possible for two people to sign the same loaner agreement? Swapping for the return journey may've helped identify if the gear selection problem and finding neutral on the way up from first to second was a Toby operator issue or bike issue. Secondly, CF Moto offer a 4 year warranty. I was told by a dealer that supplies four brands, including KTM, in May 2022 that KTM cannot get anyone to underwrite an extended warranty on their bikes. KTM offering an extended warranty may help instil confidence. Just as people may not have the disposable for a 1250 GSA, some people don't have capacity in their busy lives for return visits to dealers to get stuff repaired or replaced and waiting for parts that are on back order when they've bought a new bike. A benefit of a PCP is that if it's a lemon you can hand it back at the end of the term? One of your previous reviews influenced my motorcycle purchase so I consider you both to be bad influences.
eek! sorry for the bad influence! We both sign at the dealers to use the bikes so that we can swap around if and when needed (for test bikes) for our own we only ride our own so no need to both sign the same agreement. You are right it was a Toby error from first to second.........
Hi both brilliant video i thinks that going to be a good seller me thinks. Any way mark what issues did you have with the 850gsa engine i have got the 850. Love it, is it a common fault or just a one of. You can tell me the truth i don't mind. Stay safe both and have a good Christmas and New year. 👍
I loved the 850 but after having engine shims replaced st 12,000 miles and struggling with the hard seat on tour I was lured back to a battle bus. Ride ssfe
@@markholroyd5365 always have my services done at main dealer never trust them to do my valve clearance i always get them done independently some one you know. And the only time they have need doing was on my honda which had done 40000mil.
Had a test ride on the tour model today, I was hoping to be blown away with it but I just wasn't. Maybe I shouldn't have rode to the dealers on 1200 GS and as such I was comparing it to that, it just came across as a little rough around the edges.
hahaha, we would ride it again, but this very bike has been sold now! didn't think it would be there long! such a great bike. The braking was good and the tyres seemed to be good too
So the riding position is good then Toby. Mark needs to arrange a psych eval for your sniffing problem mate 😄. It does look like a decent bike. Ride safe guys. AKA Buff Rider.
The sport model shown in this video doesn't have the quick shifter. The touring model adds the spoked wheels, heated grips, heated seat, bark busters, and quick shifter. IMO the touring model makes way more sense than the sport model.
This motor has a fuel mapping problem. Apart from that, try between 4 and 5000 rpm's. This bike has not being proofed over 2 years. Time will tell. I will not spend money currently on a chinese made bike. The KTM 790 did have it's cons and seem to still have it.
I actually like the skinnier panniers. They are more practical for everyday use and a person can still strap on extra storage for an actual trip.

@@Splodge4514 I am not sure I use soft luggage.
I have the same, I do put my full size helmet in my center box
the quick shifter isn't on the sports model?
@@VelvetPancakeMedia Unfortunately no
Great to see a fully comprehensive review of this amazing bike. Here in China it sells for 7,600 pounds and as you can imagine it's really popular.

Great looking bike and all quality components should be great as long as you take care of it
I would love to test ride (demo) one of these. Problem is they're not available for test rides here in Canada unfortunately. At least not yet in my area, it seems. Too bad :(
You make grate presentations👍. I think you are right that CF-Moto is better than we think🤔

thanks for the kind words Chris. Yep it's an awesome machine and we think that CFMoto are the ones to watch for sure!
It's about the same price as the Vstrom 650 xt here in the USA
This bike can be now brought for less than 8k. For me without doubt I would fit a front fender extender, belly pan and centre stand , job done👍😁

Sticky gears are just newness 9/10 times. Get the first few hundred miles on it and it could be butter smooth.

I have to Laugh at the NO PARKING sign staring at the camera !!
Good review!....would you take this over the Honda NT1100?
although they are different bikes, this one is awesome, the price balanced at what you get is immense! Its a tough call, but probably the CFMoto for us ;)
Loving the no parking sign right behind you 😂
So do we! Ride safe
That looks like a great package. My only concern is if it’s a KTM motor and electronics as KTM are building an unenviable reputation for electronic reliability issues. If this proves reliable and comfortable, they have a winner on their hands.
Well as I see it, that reputation is due to repetition among keyboard warriors. KTM is not worse than any other brand.

sounds like the software needs to be updated which they have available now
The engine is designed by KTM but made by CF MOTO for them!

its here in the usa now!
New model remote preload adjuster on rear but this model you have to remove small panel to expose shock.

I think Benelli TRK 502 has been uprated to a 790 and rebadged ?
I couldn’t buy one as cant get over origin. However very impressed. I think due to my age I just crave twin dials
That's a lovely looking bike and excellent value for money 👏 what warranty does it come with ??
UK website says 4yrs parts and labour... pretty good in comparison to the other manufacturers
@@dazzer4220 yes, definitely good value 👏
What's the fuel consumption on one of these? Just sold my 2016 GS and looking into a new bike.
It was a new bike and we were told to expect mpg in the region high 60’s
8 liter for each 100kilometers
What about the *suspension, braking. and tires* ? You'll have to ride the bike again!
hahaha, we would ride it again, but this very bike has been sold now! didn't think it would be there long! such a great bike. The braking was good and the tyres seemed to be good too
Suspension is KYB tyres are up to you brakes are Spanish made Juan who KTM purchased last year
As if odd's aren't already against the Austrian's, what could possibly go wrong to a genuine Chinese, KTM?
I’m sure the Touring model comes with handguards, heated handgrips & heated seat?🤔
So the riding position is good then Toby. Mark needs to arrange a psych eval for your sniffing problem mate 😄. It does look like a decent bike. Ride safe guys. AKA Buff Rider.
hahaha, the smell test has to be done! its normal isn't it??????? eek!
Truly CAMPING OUT
Not Bad.
Tks. much.
As always a great review 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Is the hand measurement on the seat similar to distance between pockets on a ground mine 😉
Obviously… Murry Crispmas Matey
Power does one thing? It gets you to traffic lights quicker.
Wow. Two thumbs up.
Looks nice but I would rather buy a 19 plate GSA 1250.
Where are the dealers?
WILL IT COME TO THE USA?
Any idea what the seat height is? I love the look of this bike but I only have little legs😂
All on the video buddy :)
OMG THE LIGHTS LIGHT UP! THE DIRECTIONALS BLINK! CAN U BE ANYMORE BOUGHT? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE QUICK SHIFTER??
Hahaha. Not bought at all. Just loved this bike as you picked up on

hahaha, not a bit, I still make mistakes when riding and that's the point :) The moment I feel elite is the moment I will stop motorbiking
