Thanks for the informative video with lot of practical information. I’m little confused as to how to get a guide to go up to summit craters. 1. Where can I get a guide? I mean at the visitor centre, at the top cable car station or after getting down the 4x4 bus? 2. Are the guides available by the time we arrive by bus? (Most tour companies start tours very early and cannot make it by bus).
If you want to get to the summit craters I would look at booking that ahead of time via google search. There are plenty of guides that will greet you in the parking lot but not all of them do the crater tours.
Would be a huge clutch if you are quick to respond. But on that map it shows that you went all the way up, is that some old gootage or did something change, when did you do the hime and what about those prohibited zones?
If we want to see something about the crater, and some lava projections, can we do all by foot from Sapienza refuge ? So we need to go from 1800 to 2500 meters ? It is possible to climb more ? If it is possible, how long do you think it will take (juste for the climb (I’m in good shape 😅)
I don’t think you are supposed to go too close to the crater, but when I went there wasn’t anyone to stop you. I’d just use good judgment and stay safe!
Hello, Thank you for the great video. Do you perhaps know how long it takes (approx) to get to the 9600 ft using the skilift and 4x4? We are on a very tight schedule , but would like to make the most of it. If we want to get to the top, does the guided tour starts from 9600 ft or do we have to arrange it at the very start?
So, is it possible to walk further after the point of the lift? I mean if I don't want to pay for the 4x4 cars can I just walk? I read a few things about that it's forbidden.
I don’t know about that one... As long as you have closed toe shoes you should be ok. In the video I showed the guy going up in flip flops but I wouldn’t recommend that ☺️
@@TylerTownsendTravel thanks. I have basic street footware, didn’t have room to psck my regular hiking gear unfortunatelly. Anyway, don’t plan to reach the summit, just walk around for an hour or so from where the cable car leaves me. I guess i’ll find out 😀
Yay! Finally someone else that walked up from the parking lot. We got a tour guide and went all the up, it was well worth it. I'll do it again.

There is nobody there to monitor how high you go. Be safe though 👍
0:42 hello, what is the number of that local bus that goes from Catania to Rifugio Sapienza?
Sorry, I don’t remember the number.
I’m going next Tuesday! Any extra tips?
Hmmm, check the weather and enjoy!

I would allow yourself three to four hours to get up and explore a bit. You can arrange a guide at the bottom before the lift.

Yes, you can walk well beyond the lift.
@@TylerTownsendTravel thank you for your quick response! I am going to visit Mount Etna in 2 weeks :)
@@Gerlindeen enjoy!
Do you know if it is possible to rent footwear at the cable car (either bottom or 2500m ) ?

@@okadan you should be fine 👌
We are planing skip the cable car and walk up till the 4x4. Can we pay for it at the base of cable car or at the top?
Hi what's the name of that app with the route.
It's ok I've found it.
All Trails 👍
I've seen cable car prices at 70euro per person
yes, or 100 Euro for the cable car and a guided hike. It is well worth it. Breathtaking.
Going next week. What route did you take on Alltrails. I can’t find it on there 🤦🏼♂️
