OPTOMETRY WITH KHURRAM In this video we will learn that how to perform duochrome test. This test is actually for the verification of spherical correction.
Duochrome test is to verify spherical endpoint i.e strongest positive or weakest negative lens yielding best visual acuity, so in the actual test do you use BCVA n then test ?
Hi. I have one question If the patient is having +4.25ds and he's response is green is better after adding +0.25ds he's is saying red is better. wht is interpretation and final correction?
The binocular vision condition where a patient has orthophoria at near but esotropia at distance is called A)convergence excess B)convergence insufficiency C)divergence excess D)divergence insufficiency Plz Can you tell me the answer
Gud explanation sir tq for the vdeo While doing subjective refraction pt sys -3.00 ,-3.25 6/6 is same so here we are giving -3.00 bcox less minus and more plus Whereas in duochrome. With -3.00,-3.25 R better we are add up with -0.25 :ie: -3.50 pt sys duochrome balanced or G better .in this condition which power we hv to stop -.3.25?? Or(subective . In -3.00 6/6)
Thankyou.. We should perform duo chrome test for sure..after this we need to reduce -0.25 or add -0.25 ..it depends on patient's visual acuity, if patient is sharply 6/6 you can reduce -0.25.. And if patient is monocular partly 6/6 then it's fine no need to reduce . Because binocularly he or she will be perfectly 6/6. Hope this is answer the question.
Dear Khurram, what do you think, instead of duo chrome, for evaluating possible overcorrection, rather use NRA and/or MEM retinoscopy? I found that myops always prefer the red color even tough already being at 1.0 VA. Thank you
Respect your comment..but watch this video again. In hyperopic eye green colour will be closest to retina..due to decrease in plus power. That's why we need to add plus power. GGP..green.. good.. plus Hope you are clear.
Yes.. Dear.. We can perform this test on color blind person. Because this test is not a color based test. As I repeat the same question many times in this video that we have to ask the patient that OPTOTYPES are clear on the background.. Or not. Hope this is clear. 👍
Man u deserve all respect and appreciation
Wondeful explanation brother
The G.G.P and R.G.M technique made it so easy to understand.
Thank you so much for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Everything about duochrome test is Clear sir.. thankyou..
Happy to know this.. 👍
G. A. P. (green add plus), R. A. M. (red add minus) is easier to remember.
Yeah ...enjoy..🌸
@@optometrywithkhurram6867 Green give Plus
Red give Minus
Very clear explanation 👏👏👏👏Happy teachers day sir🥳❤❤❤🥳🥳🥳.
Good explanation
thank you so much sir.
this video help us clearly
Most welcome
This lecture clear all our concept about duochrome test
ThankUh so much sir for this lecture ❤️👍👌
Glad to hear that
Best explaination sir👍
Thank u sir.. It's very helpfull..
All the best.. Keep watching
Excellent presentation. 👏
Thankyou 🌸
clear douchrome test sir thank you
All the best
Well explained sir..
Keep watching
Well explained sir.. Thanku
Thankyou
another trick, what they teach in the UK is RAM & GAP means RED add minus & Green add minus this might be easier as you can just say RAM GAP
Whoops apologies it’s RED ADD MINUS AND GREEN ADD PLUS
Very well explained sir👍
Keep watching
Very well explained 💞
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks sir
Thank you

Sir -5.0sph green colour darker see sir peshant how power given sir
Sir kindly make a video on astigmatic fan and block tehnique!
Sure.. Very soon
Very useful
Glad to hear that
But I'm facing problem Sir.... I'm getting different reading for fogging and this test
i will make a video on fogging method.. Dn you worry dear 🌸
Thank you can you cover binocular duochrome and do you do duochrome only before adding cyl for astigmatic correction?
Of course..DuoChrome is only for spherical not for cylinders.
Hallelujah
Good explanation. Should we fog the patient before starting the duo chrome? And then step by step reducing the fog until sees both equal.
And also, is this test the best solution for avoiding overcorrection of minus?
Yes you are right.. Two types of duochrome are there.. One is monocular and other binocular.. In which we use fogging lenses..
You are right

@@rinasc7225 yes absolutrly.. but you know its part of curriculum...sooooo..
the red and green color the patient must appreciate the red color is more clear as compare to green color am I right?
Yes..due to longer wavelength
I have a question doed use this test for patients have color vision defect or not and why?
Yes ...we can use this test on a colour blond person..this test is not a colour based test.
👍🏻Clear sir
👍
👍❤️

Retinoscopy refraction
Very soon..
Sir! We perform it monocular or binocular. If binocular then how? How we can use fogging technique?
DuoChrome for distance in subjective refraction is always monocular.
Wrong picture in hyperopic eye
Respect your comment..but watch this video again.
In hyperopic eye green colour will be closest to retina..due to decrease in plus power. That's why we need to add plus power.

Why we take red and green background?
Because these 2 colours are equidistant from retina...I'll upload a detailed video on this concept
@@optometrywithkhurram6867 thank you. Please make a video on convergence insufficiency and excess.
Hindi batayiye sir
Make it simple sir
Sir, Please answer this question
If hyperopic person sees optotypes sharp on green background, is he under corrected or over corrected?
Watch this video at 3:50 seconds.. The detailed answer is there.. 👍
He will be definitely need more plus power
He will definitely need more plus power as GGP lol
