I'm sorry I missed you guys! Back in the (film) day, I was the first professional photographer to use an AutoFocus professional camera, the Maxxum 9000. I was ridiculed to no end by other pros as the most repeated comment was "real photographers manual focus". The Minolta had the best metering system made at the time and I think that Sony carried on that tradition in the takover. My two main gripes with the modern Sony A7 / A9 / A1 series cameras is that they just don't feel good in the hand and their menu system was designed by a group of "propeller-heads" with a full box of crayons. The Sony lenses are amazing (if a bit clinical) and the IQ is sublime. Not my favorite gear to use, but as my dad used to say; "There's a seat out there for every a$$". Yes, he had a way with words...🤣 Cheers guys!

I have very large hands, a friend of mine have even larger hands, we have no problems with using Sony Cameras. About the menu system, if you make a custom menu system, there are no problems with using it.

Owned a Maxxum 7000 (film) and then a Maxxum 7D (DSLR). AF lenses worked on both cameras. Best of all was the flash systems that they developed.

Oh, and regarding the Olympus dust removal system, yes, it is amazing! The reason why it is not as effective on larger sensors is that it cannot be vibrated back and forth at the same speed, as the edges of the larger sensors would actually crack the glass and sensor edges. If you have ever heard an older radial engine WWII airplane like the T-6, etc., the engine turns relatively slow compared to the tips of the propeller, which can reach supersonic speeds and give a tiny sonic boom (a "cracking" noise). Larger sensor cameras have to shake only as fast as the outside edges can handle, which is effectively slower than M43. (this is why I need to quit booking gigs when you guys are on air, so I can comment in real time!)

Through 45 years of photography as both a professional and a hobby photographer, I have worked with many kinds of Cameras, the best analog SLR 35mm Cameras, the best medium format 6x6 and 6x7 Cameras, 4x5" and 5x7" Cameras, I started digital photography with Canon DSLR cameras, but over the years Canon´s innovation and new cameras slowed too much down, so five years ago i switched to SONY and that have been a very good journey, SONY have many good Cameras and there are hundreds of Lenses to the SONY E mount system ! Remember that SONY bought the Minolta/Konica Camera and Lens Company ! Minolta used to have a close partner with Leica, some Minolta Cameras and Lenses was sold as Leica branded ! SONY have for many decades made compact electronic devices, so all the know how from Minolta of Cameras and Lenses and SONY´s know how of compact electronic devices are an excellent combination, I can very highly recommend anyone to get into the SONY system, beginner or high advanced professional.

In my teen years my film camera wasa Minolta that I have in stoage,i don't remember the model but it was a very solid camera, it thought that i was the only one as i never saw anything other than Nikon and some other big names. I recently added a Sony A7 MKII AND MKIII to my camera collection, i have a few small primes but the one lens i have that no one else makes is the 20-70 f4,why no one else makes it is beyond me.

Hi Jimmy All interesting and even though I was not doing photography and video at the time, I do remember the Minolta - showing my age!! Although OM Systems is my main camera / lens system as predominantly shooting wildlife and nature, I do also have some Sony - a1 and 100-400mm and 200-600mm lenses and TCs for various reasons for both photos and video. My only issue with Sony is the weight of the lenses !!

Sony should make a full frame retro rangerfinder style camera since OM System refuses to make a Pen F ii.. Sony camera bodies are not aesthetically pleasing. The old classic Rangefinders many people find quite beautiful.
