Everyone talks about Buckethead's incredible technical playing skills, which are obvious, but I don't think he gets enough credit for his amazing compositional skills. Yes, he has well over 400 albums of original material, but he's not just churning out a bunch of filler crap. He has so much fantastic material. No one else even comes close.
My sentiments exactly!
Bro fuckin nailed it right on the head. I tip my hat, sir.
Agreed people are not as open minded as us. You gotta open your mind
Smh Elivs has A million records full Cds It'll never be done again and died around 38/42
@@JayCapone37 Elvis produced a lot of original material, nowhere even remotely close to that of Buckethead. And he's still cranking out new music. He released over 100 new albums in 2023 not to mention live album compilations.
The guys unique. Can play virtually any style with the right feel. And he’s a super chill, super nice guy in person. All he wants to do is his thing - doesn’t care for the business. Or fame or any of that stuff.
That's one of my favorite things about him, too. Bro just wants to play his guitar for people and doesn't care about money at all. Buckethead is really the GOAT.
Virtuoso, savant, guitar god, the goat,
Unparalleled
Blew all my favorite guitarists out of the water
No-one comes close.
Congratulations on discovering your favourite guitarist’s favourite guitarist.
He just released Communicating Through the Stars (aptly named) last week as his 540th pike, and it is absolutely sublime. Just when you think he can’t get any better, he ascends to another level.
You should thank the person that put you up to this. They've given you the gift of Buckethead, Enjoy it
2015 he averaged 2 solo releases a week, with sundays off
Bucket is love
Congrats on discovering Buckethead.
They’ll never look at KFC the same way
The control he has just with his pinky blows me away
Brian Carroll a.k.a. Buckethead is one of the greatest guitar players on the planet. When you watch more of his videos, you’ll see some of the things he does are unbelievable. His fingers are like spiders running up and down the neck of that guitar. He plays all kinds of music, and he’s great to listen to you. Try listening to Buckethead- Jordan live at the Culture Room it’s amazing. Buckethead is a huge martial arts fan who does nunchucks on stage, he does the robot on stage, and he goes to local stores buys toys and hands them out at all his shows. The man has an endless supply of music to listen to. Fun reaction 👏👏👏🤙🤙🤙. You should check out more Buckethead
Nunchucks?! 😂
@@barsandbarbells2022 hahaha he also passes out toys as gifts during his live performances.
Your user name reminded me of the fact that Dave Mustaine once said that Buckethead is twice as good at guitar as he and Slash combined. Lmao.
@@Spartacus830He does indeed. He gave me a Peppa Pig and Pedro Pony toy two nights ago in New Haven, CT. Adding it to the collection of other toys I've gotten from his show.
YESSS! My man Buckethead a.k.a. Brian Patrick Carrol is my absolute favorite guitarist. He has worked on over 50 albums by different artist and has 400+ albums on his own. G&R is a very small part of his body of work.
the mask and bucket are merely a way of dealing with stage fright. i could write endlessly about this guy. even if you don't react to his stuff, do not deny yourself and look further (a lot further) into this guys music. in my little corner of the world he is the best guitarist at this point in history by a long shot
What a humble guy and masterful guitarist and musician!
I’m mesmerized and infatuated
@@tapeworm6093 - Check out Pike 65 Hold Me Forever (in memory of my mom) - this is 28 minutes long about the passing of his mom. Not sad, but rather powerful. The man can play the guitar and then some. Lots of material to listen to (over 650 cd's to date). Because of so much material, I rarely listen to anything else anymore.
@@BucketheadgoatI bought his pike collection 2 years ago! I have up to 298. And have all his other releases prior to this! I’m almost an aficionado !😂💙
@@Bucketheadgoathave you tried “inbred mountain “ and” the dawn of the deli Creeps “ as well as “Kaleidoscalp” ?Heavy as f
His use dissonance is actually harmonic.
Buckethead is the absolute best metal guitarist that most people have never heard of. His shows are amazing. A great supergroup album was Col Claypool Bucket of Bernie Brains. Les Claypool, Buckethead, Bernie Worrell from Parliament Funkadelic and Talking Heads, and Brain, a long time drummer for Les.
In terms of being under apreciated Shawn Lane and Bumblefoot come to mind
And every time he does it differently....and awesomely
My mother passed in 2008. Buckethead fan club shared a post office with her in Vlaremont, CA. I found this out 3 years after sending her his Electric Tears. She was a huge fan.❤
He is the best guitarist in the world, no more to say 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
He is over 500 with his pikes. He is a brilliant composer and what is most important: his mind is free. He has released so many different styles - some I like others not - but I appreciate his diversity and creativity. He is obviously amonst the best of the best.
Speaking of Guitar Gods:
Joe Satriani, 'Surfing With the Alien' is a pure musical journey.
That song is white-knuckle brilliance.
Its crazy bc he was very famous within the guitar community for some time. He did quite a few collaborations with other artists and bands. Then he joined GNR and became a lot more well known. Then they put one of his songs "Jordan" on guitar hero 2 and he really blew up. One of the most unique guitar players ever.
I've had the pleasure seeing him live 3 times. Definitely an experience to check out, with Japanese action/superhero type movies playing in the background, his robot dancing, nunchuk displays and finally exchanging toys with the audience. For other songs/videos to check out I would recommend Jordan live at the Culture Room (recommended below as well) and Ozzfest 99 with Primus. Buckethead was also a lead guitarist in Guns N Roses for 4 years, back when Axl Rose was the only original member left (around 2000). There's a good video of Guns N Roses at the 2002 MTV Video Awards with Buckethead playing in that show. The thing about Buckethead....he plays ALL types of music. Mainly rock, but he's got a ton of slower, jazzier/bluesy songs, as well as country/chickenpickin type songs like Hog Stomp B!tch. With 400+ albums, there's a ton to check out. Buckethead also had the opportunity to be the guitarist for Ozzy Osbourne, but Ozzy thought he was "too weird." He would not break character and take off the mask to talk with Ozzy.
He makes it look effortless is what gets me...
Yesterday, March 27, 2024, Buckethead produced their 656th album. He is the most prolific, talented and modest musician alive. I recommend Animal Behavior, Siege Engine, Interworld and the New Innocence, etc. Thank you for the post and the reactions
Didn’t hear much giggling about his bucket at the end, just amazement as most do.
Brian Carroll aka Buckethead started out young. Brian came up with the idea of Buckethead after he seen 4th movie of original Halloween seeing actor portraying Michael Myers while eating bucket of KFC Chicken in 1988. Brian put white mask of Myers and KFC bucket on his head....click! Brian lost both of his parents with a song tribute to your mother. My favorite song from Buckethead is Machete.
Buckethead is the greatest. Truly a natural born-genius, and a very sweet and shy guy.
He's the absolute Guitarist. Every song from him is a treasure.
Helluva shred guitarist and what impressed me was it was all picking and 0 finger tapping. A great melody as opposed to mindless shredding. Really enjoyed all of it, the guy is OP.
The most underrated and under appreciated artist of all time.
Perfection has a name, and that name is Buckethead. Thanks for the post and the reactions.
🙏
I just found Buckethead too 🪣
He has over 400+ albums display his chops.... very wide range of styles (not all metal)....he even did a rendition an ODB song...he loves the Wu. Great reaction 🔥
The reason why he wears a mask is that he suffers from anxiety and the mask for him has always been a comfort barrier. Kinda ironic when you think about the fact that he is 198 cm (6'6) but hey after all physical traits have nothing to do with mental insecurities
Every time you think he's peaked, there just couldn't be more, he finds a new level to bring it up to. Gotta love Buckethead.
Buckethead one of the greatest ever and probably one of the nicest people on the planet
He fits a million 16th notes in a 4-4 beat. The amount of skill that takes in gargantuan
Amazing reaction. Love to rediscover buckethead thru reaction videos. Makes me feel like the first tim I heard him
Wow , can’t believe your on Buckethead. 👍🏼👍🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼. Name dropping but, Brian (buckethead) was my singers guitar teacher way back in the day . Super chill dude , last brother you would imagine as that performer . Love it . Keep up the musical journey
Love Buckethead. Master of his craft. Spectral brother.
The fastest guitarist in the world for real
When it comes to the best guitarist Buckethead’s name never comes up. Why not?
Because he is so underrated and others are jealous to him
I really love the guitar playing on this.
🙏🏴❤🇬🇧✌
@barsandbarbells2022 Nice reaction vid. I always enjoy watching how people unfold when listening to Buckethead. Make no mistake Buckethead is the G.O.A.T. He is not from this solar system. One day Brian Patrick Carroll was eating some KFC while watching his favorite horror movies and decided to wear the bucket with a mask. He was promptly teleported to a chicken coop on another planet where he acquired his powers to evoke emotions through his music. His compositions are called Pikes which number in the hundreds. He can also play a few instruments although his guitar playing is not just god-like, he is the God of Guitar and creates soulful music as well as hard kickass riffs. Pike 65 was dedicated to his late mother. Close your eyes and feel Pike 234. Many get hung up on the self-image, money and fame Buckethead never cared for any of that. No one can find him. He comes back to Earth now and again to release a new Pike. A phenom musician and a good human being. We are fortunate he shares his music with the world 🕉️ 💙 Mr. Carroll thank you for sharing yourself with us!
At 3:29 you guys where hooked. Welcome to Buckethead world.
Buckethead is so cool. Haha. Nobody seems to be reviewing the newest queensryche album, the song behind the walls is so heavy and good. Would love to hear a review on it
Awe man, being Queensryche is my favorite band of all time, its just hard for me to not compare everything recent to everything up to Empire, which was just all perfection. I know Todd is an incredible singer, but DeGarmo just wrote the best of songs
Saw him shred in a little club in Victoria, BC about a decade ago
The most impressive thing about Bucket is not his left hand but his right. It's a thing of beauty how he weaves in notes with his left while his right is going absolutely insane.
when I heard "we've never heard of Buckethead before" I said, "oh boy, they're in for it now!" One of the greatest guitarists that's ever lived in my opinion. He's one of my heroes.
IMHO, most skilled guitarist of all time. Certainly no one is better or more skilled.
Check out Guthrie Govan.
@@sergiofernandez2336 guthrie is up there in technical chops too, but buckethead has an equal level of technical mastery. where bucket can't be touched is his absolutely absurd level of creative output and composition, he just flows music out of him effortlessly and he is able to communicate feelings and ideas without words in a way that i have never heard from another human being. so many of bucket's songs are an unspeakable masterpiece of emotion
@@sergiofernandez2336 just did. He’s incredible too. Thanks!
@@christophercitrangulo4891 I agree with most of what you said, Buckethead is in my top 10 but i place him below Guthrie.
The most emotional guitar virtuoso of all time.
Thank you so much guys!!!
Thank you too! 👊
Awesome reaction, nice choice!
As long as you're checking out guitar gods, be sure to react to Eric Johnson - Cliffs of Dover (Live). One of the greatest guitarists of all time!
He shredded the SHIT out that guitar! Like WOW!
His shows are usually just him and a drum track. And nunchucks.
He wears the bucket for all the dead chickens that kfc kill. It’s the dead chickens talking through his guitar. Words from bucket himself.
So ... this guy is quite into Disney Land, rides n music. Made Axel Rose sign him on his favourite ride ... Lovely anti guitar hero 💕
Everytime Buckethead plays his guitar,,it's an album ✌🙂
You could pick every song from the past decades, combine them & there still wouldn't be as much emotion as this song has...
Great playing
Check out the original O.G shredder. Steve Vai "tender surrender" won't be disappointed. You may have to called the police for what he does to that guitar 🎸😂
He's always been his own member. Of himself Amazing man
Love Eddie , but man Bucket is the king by far , a great musician and music composer
Amazing guitarist😊 👌👏.
I truly love buckethead, they can do anything. Thanks.
Hell yeah, this dude is my hero of the last 2 decades, glad more ppl are finding him. Disclaimer, idk if I'm alone in this, but I dont ever mention guns an roses, I think his solo work is much much better than GnR could ever be
Will go down as one of the greatest maestro composers. Ever. 600+ albums and counting. All genres. Never heard him? Listen to Coupon.
To me he is more than a guitarist, instrumentalist. Awesome to listen too.
Hey I subscribed after watching this reaction and your other to Beth Hart .i like yalls Cheers from Vancouver Canada 🇨🇦 🍻
When you see a guitar. Bucket head comes to mind
😀👍 ... Standards are slipping guys, only one video upload today ! 😆😂😂 ... apologies, you have dropped another video, my bad 🙈😂
😂 spoke too soon!
@@barsandbarbells2022 😂 yep 🙈
He is a big guy. Huge hands. His guitar is huge too.
The KFC bucket is his way to express the inhuman slaughter of chickens. He used to wear a KFC bucket that had Funeral across it.
Buckethead is amazing he has 542 Pikes
❤ Buckethead
Самый лучший гитарист, музыкант 🤟🤟💫💫Buckethead🎸
There's Buckethead, and then there's everyone else.
I don't see a comment saying this
In Guns and Roses, Slash kept getting drunk and canceling performances. Buckethead got tired of it and flew back to the coop.
I see buckethead as a western kabuki performer, where the mask/costume takes the person away so you can focus on the art instead
One of the GOAT technical guitarists next to the likes of Jason Becker
Absolutamente impresionante!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I have a poster in my room of buckethead 😂
I Have 8
@@Cerezavenenosa your room sounds cool
the Alpine gibson talk in his hands,i discovered him few years ago and dont even knew he was in guns roses, how da fak they preferred slash at him ,still mistery.
If you ever want a history lesson on Buckethead, I recommend the TH-cam channel Natternet were he does a deep dive on everything Buckethead related. To date, Buckethead has released almost 600 solo albums. If you want to include bands, soundtracks, side projects, etc then he's released about 700
Natternet is the tits.
Probably such a short tenure because it's been said that AXL is pretty difficult to tolerate/ work with.
One of the most diverse guitarist ever. If you want to hear him go even harder listen to his song "The coats of Claude". it's 13 minutes something so I wouldn't recommend that for a reaction video but give it a try...
BUCKETHEAD- NORTHERN LIGHTS AND FLARE
Females react differently to parts of a solo than males. They have a lower tolerance for shredding beyond 10 seconds, but you can gain their attention again by repeating a motif. If you break that rule, you can see it in their eyes.
Wow...These two have never heard of Brian Patrick Carroll (AKA BUCKETHEAD) started playing at the age of 12...played with Guns and Roses. You have a talk show on TH-cam!
Producer, how many 16th notes can you fit in a 4+4 beat..... Bucket head...... Yes
Quite possibly THE best guitarist in the world
He is techically top notch. He can play everything and thats it. S tier guitar player. As musician, he could done it better but its hard to write songs.
Some of the best buckethead tracks have zero shredding. I don't know what you're talking about
Yes you know what I am talking about. I love his soft stuff like Padmasana and Whitewash for example. Something less is more.@@predeterminedmeat5024
Sorry, I don’t know your names but the man looks soooo much like a grown up Bud Bundy it’s crazy! Good show, guys.
He has so many solo albums now close or over 600 now
👍
Buckethead the soul soother,😊
His stint with GnR was short because Slash knew he was a better guitar player albeit him writing the songs, he took it done sorry of way. Slash is a great guitarist but when it comes to musicality, Buckethead is way above his league. He's honestly one of the best guitarist ever in our lifetime no question
Buckethead is the goat
He was in Primus and Guns n Roses but didnt stay long he is a individual and like Jimi Hendrix cant play in a band they prob holding him back
He left GnR because he got fed up with how long it took them to finish an album.
While he was a member of Guns I think he released like 25 solo albums while they finished only one.
This song will grab your GD MOFO SOULLLLLL BRO FRFR..!!!
Eddie Van Halen you say?! Buckethead pike 113 pays respect to Eddie near the first couple minutes.
Pike 113, Herbie Theater. 😎 Many of his pikes take on themes and pay homage to other musicians and athletes. Thanks for the videos.
Kensington maybe? Dutch rock band. Got great songs like Sorry, St. Helena, Uncharted, No Me etc
Couple of guitarists that ya'll probably haven't heard of.
1. MAX OSTRO- BLITZKRIEG AND GROOVE ON
2. DAMIAN SALAZAR - ARPEGGIOS AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT.
This would be my choice for the best Buckethead song: th-cam.com/video/8akmP6Sjv2o/w-d-xo.html Still rocking after 17 years.
Buckethead is a legend. Do Jordan live
No offense but I just stopped by not to see youre reaction but to hear the man sing with his guitar. It never gets old listening to the master.
