Grab yourself a OnePlus 12 and you'll be able to get OxygenOS 15 running SOON: onepluscom.pxf.io/QyoQ3M (Sooner than you'll likely be able to purchase the OnePlus 13 in the US, anyway)
I'm excited to get the update on my OP12. Although, I really don't care about the AI features yet. The new themes look fun. Hopefully, those extend to ringtones and notification sounds.
Cool. I bought the Oneplus 12 thinking I wouldn't be getting any AI features, but here we are. Don't think I'll have much use for them, though. Better to have them, than not.
Dumb question: can we still swipe down from middle of screen for notifications and settings? Not a fan of reaching to top of the screen on a huge phone.
Nope that won't work. But you can swipe sideways between both once you pull one down for whatever that's worth. Or disable it entirely and go with the joined approach.
Just got it on my pad 2. I remember when they had that split notification drawer on the OnePlus One in 2014 lol. Don't remember when they took it out though.
Go into the customize icon section and play around with the icon settings, there are a bunch of controls there for tweaking the icon look and feel. That's what I did for the icons you see. It's not a theme, just manual customization.
Right on, great to have you here Daniel! So far battery has been, well, I haven't noticed anything bad YET. I'm also not relying on the OP12 as my daily driver so I might be the wrong person to weigh in on that.
Android used to be praised for combined notifications & Quick Settings. This is no more the case. Also, brands doesn't have much to differentiate in terms of hardware so they are trying their best to improve UI which is best for end consumers. Liked new Oxygen OS/ Realme UI/ Color OS, can't deny that.
why doesn't anyone pay attention to volume control in their reviews? on my nord 3 it looks awful, so much so that I don't want to touch the volume rocker...
@@AmyJohonsen I meant to say Oxygenos in general, cause the previous oxygenos updates after 11 didn't appeal much to me. This one tho brings a lot of cool stuff.
Sharing media between apps (split screen) is nothing new. It is accessible in Android versions 12 and up , I don't know this feature available lower versions of Android then 12 . 80-90% of users are unaware that this feature exists, and not all apps support it. Overall great improvement
I love how there are people who hate on iphone and apple, yet will love this update on their one plus phones which has so many features and visual copied from IOS.
You must resolve battery drain issue and low speaker sound issue in one plus 12R India version first.😢😢😢 Why are you not talking seriously about this issue
which features?? Dynamic Island, Different notification and control centre, Depth Effect on Lock Screen, AOD to Lock Screen Transition??? They copied or inspired from iOS all these features😂😂😂
@@mohitkumar-vm6zlwrong asf bro apple took Aod from Android , dynamic island was implemented on honor phones previously before it came to apple , all the lockscreen customisations are take from samsung what are you whining about? I like what I'm seeing of the new themes. Still, AI features aren't that important to me. Currently, most AI features that are available are pretty rudimentary. Come back and talk to me about AI in a few years. That will give the technology time to develop.
@@JasonHowell As much as I'd love to spend three or four hours a day erasing Coke cans from old photos, I'm afraid I have better things to do with my day. When developers come up with something practical to simplify my life, I'll be the first to jump on board. For example, I'm a low vision user that relies on Android accessibility suite to navigate my devices. Once they develop an AI enhancement to improve its functionality, I'll take it more seriously.
Well said. I'm not that excited about AI. I'm certainly not going to base a smartphone purchase on it. At least, not at this point. Lately, I've been taking a lot of ribbing from people about buying the OP12 instead of a pixel 9 series. This year's pixels may have the latest AI features but, they also have a substandard processor. In addition, they all look like iPhone clones.
@@AmyJohonsen Agreed, tensor chipsets may be optimized for AI features but, who cares? Apart from that, the performance is strictly mid-range. Still, Google charges big-time money for their phones. It makes me want to check my birth certificate just to make sure that I wasn't born yesterday.

I love the inclusion of the original OnePlus phone just sitting in the background 👏🏼👏🏼👌🏼
I mean, I have em... Might as well flex a little! Haha
3:56 what is that screen that shows after he swipes down?
That is the OxygenOS Shelf. I missed the fact that there are new widgets/designs for the shelf in this update as well.

Indeed! My wife took those pics In SF a few weeks ago
Nice review of this OS. I don’t use this platform, but it's interesting. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Great Explanation, now officiall update
Nice! Enjoy!
What about "others" storage
Is circle to search now available on NA Oneplus, it's not working on mine.
Have they finally introduced screenshots file named as per app in which taken just like Samsung and Xiaomi do it
Ai features are missing in oxygen os 15 beta version OnePlus 12 (indian unit ) any one knows why??
No clue, that is odd...
Wow nice features 😳
I have the American model. I can't figure out where to get the download to install the beta
You have to go to the software update settings page and opt into the beta, then you SHOULD be able to find it.

Very nice overview! Thank you! Is it possible on OxygenOS15 to finally change the right lower icon on the lockscreen other than the camera?
Thanks! I haven't seen that, no. That's a pretty standard thing on the lock screen at this point.
@Techsploder thanks for taking the time to answer, really appreciate that 😊
Does the screen off gestures work properly?
The OG with the CMOS branding still goes really hard after all these years
Man no kidding, that is a hall of fame Android phone in my opinion.
can we at least use the new lock screen clock styles but without the over the top phrazes ?
Feels like OnePlus is finding its way again in both the software and hardware
Yeah they definitely have some strong momentum right now.
You have early access build?
Yes!
No dynamic Island

you can choose a combined option
Yes you can indeed
Software is becoming the big differentiation right now... Especially with AI being so hot!

Not really a theme actually. This is as close to my standard homescreen setup as I usually use. Crafted over the years!
