      Paul Herrera does... or maybe he doesn't. I was in Kuk Sool Won at the time so we all thought he was out hero.

    *You're one of the few Martial Arts channels*
    That features experts that fill your lack of knowledge in some aspects.
    Despite this being your channel, you don't mind being the dummy for demonstration.
    Genuine and Honest, love it.

    i’d love to see a video about defending from turtle. clearly it’s a terrible position to be in, but id like to see some possible sweeps or even submission attempts from bottom turtle. great video!

    I have some Muay Thai/boxing ideas. You know how cats are so fast when they swipe at you, as to always hit you before you can pull away, if you’ve ever had an angry cat swipe at you? It’s because the cat projects it’s paw out without any momentum building indicator that it’s going to strike. If you could see this in other people and in boxers when throwing your jabs and crosses and apply the same concept, you could just work angles off of jabs and use entries on crosses since you’ll see them coming. You could also focus on making your punches faster and harder to see coming. Once you’ve got the person in the mouth using a really fast jab, immediately move in and take them out by punching them hard in the head with crosses and hooks. If you want to land a punch while someone is guarding, wait until there’s an opening and shoot in with a thrusting motion. Head movement really counts when they’re using jabs. Make sure that you see them coming. You’ll only see the arm rotate a few inches before it lands. I would shield while moving side to side. If you see a roundhouse kick coming to your lead leg, you can either check it, or move in as they’re moving back to throw it and side kick them in the knee that’s holding all of their weight up using the lead leg that they’re trying to swing at.

    I somewhere saw crucifix being used in some youtube video. Don't remember the details but the guy caught in it had both his hands trapped in armbars along with getting choked at the same time. It was way more dangerous considering he was not even able to tap out as both his hands were getting armbarred or something. He eventually passed out and had to be recovered by laying him and raising his legs in the air.

    Hey shane. I have a video idea. So could you do a video talking about why muay thai traniers/fighters wear ankle supports or why they wear one. Because my coach somtimes wear one then the next day she would wear both.

      No like if I move in to strike and the guy throws too. If there is a way to be more accurate in the exchange.

    I wonder, how many ways do exist to get into a crucifix? Ive seen one guy do that from a failed sprawl... The other guy went for asingle leg and had his leg and arm together... Then he grabbed his own hand and streched and got his othrr leg on the other arm, getting into a crucifix that no one would guess could happen...

      Just be aggressive and focus on attacking your opponent for starters. Once you're comfortable attacking without hesitation, you'll be able to box with your own style be it counter-punching, outfighting, or whatever. You need to cultivate the mindset of going for the kill when you enter a fight. You don't need to intimidate your opponent. Just fix your own resolve at killing them even though you don't follow through with it in the end. It's often referred to as Sakki in Japanese arts.
      It really helped me when I first started out with Karate. It might help you out as well. After all, fighting starts in the head and then moves to the fists.

    What if the opponent rolls to the side with the wrist trap?

  • @aebersoldbjj
    @aebersoldbjj 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Once Shane’s right arm is trapped, could you step over the head with your right leg, and going for an inverted triangle?

    • @libertylarry3224
      @libertylarry3224 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes possible, but the right leg is what is trapping the arm so if you step over the opponent might escape. Also you risk loosing top control.

    • @aebersoldbjj
      @aebersoldbjj 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Liberty Larry I’m guessing if you switch hooks on the trapped arm from the right leg to the left leg it would be possible, if anything you could regain guard

    Not trying to sound like a keyboard warrior but 99.9% of things on TH-cam showing a turtle attack have the turtled guy being shit and this is no different. These are attacks that will work on an opponent who is tired and ready to quit anyway. Even a moderately skilled, fresh opponent would wrist fight the far grip, have their elbow blocking the knee and be trying to stand up. You might land a couple of shots during the process of standing up, but they won't have the power for a KO and it's a small price to pay to get out of the position.

    I want to be a UFC fighter

  • @Spike1Wesker
    @Spike1Wesker 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just a fight tip. You never want to put your hand/arm under the turtle's armpit (like Vince shows at the beggining) while having your legs completely to the other side of the turtle. A very easy and effective reversal as the turtle is trapping that arm with your armpit/arm and keep it tight to your chest/side, quickly lean on your side putting weight on that trap and continue rolling sideways in that direction. Your opponent will most likely roll forcefully over you and end up with his back to the ground and you on top side control.
