At 70 I have been watching launches since Mercury…thanks Mom for letting me stay at home. This never gets old for me and these booster landings leave me gob smacked every lime. Time to see one up close and personal.
@@markheller8646 Concur 100%. My father was booster tech for Mercury and Gemini launches. I remember sitting on the floor staring out the plate glass windows when we lived in Rockledge and watching the launches when I was tiny. This is simply amazing that I can get to see the future sooooo clearly. My enthusiasm is not waning one bit. The guys at USLR give us more than I could ever have hoped for and make the "real news" channels look like slow children. Peaceful Skies.
Most people watch it hoping it RUDs. That's the only reason I watch the Starship. My wishes have been answered three times now. Wishing for a forth. FEM!
Every time I watch a reentry, I cant help but just watch and compare, and i do realize upper atmosphere is thinner, but compare the given size of the booster, and the many different plumes. Like the boost back burn, and just how big it is. The cold gas bursts and how fast and far they shoot out. Its mind blowing. This will always be a joy to watch. Hats off to the crews and their hardwork to share these moments.
Excellent job! The 18" scope never ceases to amaze me, you can make out the grid fins when the booster is at apogee in space, about 80 miles up. And still the reigning shock wave kings!
This is not a missile, this is a technical jewel, the most beautiful human-made thing that amazes the viewer at every return. Really, thanks to Elon Musk.
Over the history of this channel you've gone from, in the beginning, the absolute worst available rocket launch footage to nowadays, the absolute BEST. You guys have come SO far.
A little annoying that the SpaceX hosts just copy and paste the script which this time was inaccurate. CRS flights use the more efficient 1 engine entry burn and 1-3-1 landing burn.
We hear the sonic boom from every Vandenberg Falcon launch, something we haven't heard since the days when the shuttle would give us the double sonic booms when it landed at Edwards. It takes me back to my childhood in Central California when it wasn't unusual to hear sonic booms from military aircraft prior to the ban in 1973 (I was 12!)
Considering you're tracking the full flight of the first stage through the entire thickness of the atmosphere, as well as covering the horizontal distance it travelled, with all atmospheric disturbances available at any given time, these images are simply stunning.... 🙏
Fantastic, you guys are my eyes in the sky as i live all the way over in the UK but love all things USA space, these tracking shots you do just get better every time, its an incredible feat of engineering to build such a tracking rig, i am very impressed indeed, you guys should be working with NASA or ULA or SpaceX
That shot of the booster "inside the cocoon" of the retro-propulsion plume is insane. I don't think I've ever seen a perspective like that, as focused, before and I've watched, oh, 100-150 of these before! :D
I was there for the launch, standing right behind the tracker. Thanks for doing such a great job and for explaining everything before and after the launch
Very professional and factual documentation of a seemingly trivial fact - the landing of a rocket. Greetings to all children who believe in Saint. Nicholas and Armstrong landing on the Moon.
Ròcketman, you are amazing! Yes you expect too much from normal men but you were smart enough to select people with a touch of magic like you have so you push them to get their best. Thank you for sharing and they are staying up there a month? They must not consume normally, they all have to be skinny to be in space that long. The excitement of space and their mission feeds their mind and they exist on little food. Tesla or me couldnt do that, we like fiod tio much!
WOW! No landing impact shockwave was sent throughout the entire booster ship module when it made contact with the ground service. Do you now see how well a privately owned and controlled entity research and testing team can do?!
Thank you for the FANTASTIC views as always. Ed you MAGNIFICIENT BASTARD! You have built a system to be proud of sir! KUDOS! Always the best video with the highest quality views. This one seems to to kick up tons of dust with its rocket engine. The moon landing ine was so advanced it didn't make more dust than granny sweeping the tiled floor
Remeber as said first ever orbital class re usable rocket not long till he land his star ship from space ..remember took him 3 times just to launch a falcon 9 let alone get it to space so he doing well
@@edgeiger6621 Ed you built a beauty. You should be so very, very proud. Your hardware excels and your control of it is world class, top S rank. Peaceful Skies.
@@edgeiger6621 Yeah, and the odd thing is that I also didn't see the characteristic elongated flame perpendicular to the row of engines. The exhaust looked round like a single engine, but the outer engines did seem to have burned.
This from a guy who back in the 50s did not think it would be possible to land a rocket back on earth under power. I am impressed.. SpaceX does it over and over. They said in the day that it could not be done.. Damn. That is sweet..
There is nothing can "not be done". Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But given enough time and scientific resources, the impossible slowly becomes possible. Who would have thought 50 years ago that we would have cell phones like we have today? The can't be done slowly becomes the things we can do.
@@Uslaunchreport well that went well in explaining! I have close up shots, where the fuel seems to pop out the side, and then you can actually see a burnt area...not like all others!!!!
