I have the same VW but in red :D I make dirt by running Kansas dirt through a tea strainer.

Ron I get my scale dirt at the local Little League Pitchers Mound after a game has been played. Its a very fine powder. But I will have to look after a soaking rain in on my dirt roads here in Indiana.

I shake my head at the thought of how I know this... But it is a windfall in free dirt.

Ron it is a fine powder too after you sift the dirt, just a Hillbilly Method from Indiana! ;)

Huh. Thanks Ron. I have sifted dirt and decomposed granite before but haven't tried using water to get the silt. I also have some glycerine .. so will try that too!
