The Melanesian Brotherhood is a religious order with about 600 members based at Tabalia on Guadalcanal in the Solomon Islands. This song was used in the opening minutes of film the Thin Red Line. I have included some images of Tabalia, Honiara and of the Solomons violent past including wrecked warplanes and Red Beach where the Americans landed. The Melanesian Brotherhood is featured in my book 'Blue Peter: Behind The Badge' Chapter 27. Now also available as an eBook on Amazon Kindle. The book is also available through my website 'Blue Peter: Behind The Badge'.
I have never heard anything this beautiful in my life. Love form Croatia
Thank you 🙏➕️
Greetings from Solomon islands 🇸🇧❤
Hope alls been well over the last 4 years 👍🏼
While the thin red line brought me here ... I watch this clip from time to time and it brings tears to my eyes and joy to my soul. Such a peaceful place. Such a life to live. O', what we miss here in the big cities.
Still here. From time to time, i need it. Don't forget to listen my friend.
Wonderfully said thank you
To be honest, EVERY country got its problems mate, and Guadacanal is no exeption. The people living there are one of the most threatended folk in terms of natural disasters, medical care is pretty bad, same with electricity and life standard, and there have been riots in recents years ( Honiara ) in which people have been killed. It absolutely beautiful and touching though, no doubt about that - but you shoud be aware that life can be pretty harsh at those places. And most people from big cities are not made for that life. Greets.
Jesus Christ will always be there for those who believe in him. Amen. Thank you for sharing.
🙏🏻
They believe in him and that makes any difference to the misery around them...if this Christ was not the devil the world would be better
Aamen Timothy
I am not christian but this song makes my eyes filled with tears. so beautiful
No one cares if you’re Christian
Same for me.
Mass last Sunday in the Anglican Church of the Resurrection in Port Vila, Vanuatu brought me to tears with the inspired singing during the mass. I wish i had a recording of that setting! I did not realise just how emotionally moving Island religious music could be.
these "novices" sounded freaking incredible
South Africa says hi Solomon Islands 🇸🇧

Greetings from a Muslim
The Islanders have a unique style. I agree.
As salamu alaykum from S.I 🇸🇧
WE ARE MADE OF STARS
Not me.
freakymicky what do stars do ?
what type of stars?
I can feel the power of the holy spirit in your music. Your islands and your people are truly a blessed people. The world has fallen from grace but music like this reminds us that there is still light in the darkness. God bless you my brothers and sisters in our lord Jesus Christ.
This is the music of angels.
Amen.
How strange that this paradise was the site of such savage warfare 70 years ago. Two mighty nations descended upon the island, fought with weapons and in numbers such as the people had never seen, and left, leaving only the wreckage of their struggle, now reclaimed by nature.
I wish I wrote this wise comment.
This "paradise" has recently been the victim of inter-island ethnic strife.
@@terrythomas1343 No paradise without snakes, no?
Unexploded ordnance from WW2 are still around and people on these islands are still being killed or maimed.
And the remains of the warfare 70 years ago continue to claim the lives of innocent people. In 2021, an UXO claimed the lives of three innocent people and injured several others. May their souls RIP.
How wonderful are these brothers! God bless you! from italy
praise to melanesian remind us of our homeland and eithopia our mother.
Ive always been more spiritual than committed to any religion, but this song always feels divine...
I pray that all those who lost their lives on the island, including our ancestors, have found peace alltogether, after all.

Wow... awesome 🙏
everytime i listen to this song, i really feel like im so close to God --- maybe its just me...
It’s not just you my friend it’s everyone. The water is true and flowing from the same source.
Remember thin red line...
El himno del mundo.
Is this a routine every Sunday song for you guys? It is AMAZING. Jisas Yu Holem Hand Blong Mi is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, it struck me when I first heard it 20 years ago as a child. American music is very Diatonic and we load up on major & minor 3rds a plenty. But it doesn't come out like this...
Yes this is a regular hymn on Sundays by the Anglican church of Melanesia..Solomon Islands
And Melanesian Brotherhood dedicated 7 prayer time per day x 7 days/week x 4 weeks/month x 12months/years. And yes this hymnal is sang every Sunday service.
This is god’s music in praise
Amen😇🙏
Очень красиво
I Iove Jesus
Wow!!!😍😍😍😲😲😲😲
❤❤❤
Jesus made them sing like this - HE IS MY SAVIOUR
the thin red line
I was a staunch, hardcore Muslim for over 20 years. This song brought me to Christ.
God bless you. these brothers are very spiritual.
Amazing! Sad to see the bomber laying in ruins there. I wonder if anyone has ever gone to the site to give the dead a proper burial? Maybe they have, I don't know but I am mighty curious to know being a Veteran if war myself. No one should ever have to die alone, even in war!
they are not alone. they have island natives who have been there far longer than the soldiers overlooking it.
In “A Bridge Too Far” a mortally wounded soldier dies holding hands with Liv Ullman. Most of us will not be so lucky.
❤
Thin Red Line/ Life
🙏🏻✝️
듣고 울부짖었다 ㅇㅂ
i muslim , i like music

what i want to know is how do you visit the soloman islands?
Sorry you❤
My african people are beautiful
they're not African
It appears that...wait for it....they have a lot of african traits....who would have thought....
Ok................
We are not African, we are Melanesian. We have our OWN identity, thank you very much.
Lmao ok....sure
good catholic
Anglican
Imagine
Why did they convert them to christianity?
@John Selwyn it was stupid European western colonizers that forced them into the religion.
@John Selwyn why is it a true religion?
They are Christians.
Did original song involved Christianity 🤔
I wonder 🤔
Involved Christianity in what ways?
Yes it's a christian hymn.
What a shame practicing the religion of the colonizers and all this nonsense about that arent black tell one of these brothers walk on the streets and if the cops say run nigga they better RUN
God bless you. Think wise before comment.
Good song
wish i can live there, far away from technical things like handys or information on televesion, only from liveing from human to human there and between me and god🥲💗
