Multiply or Release 42 - Charged Shots vs Burst Shot

  • Classic multiply or release, but choose between releasing as a charged shot or a burst shot.
    Burst shots size is determined by the remaining amount of charge to release - increased by 1 for every 10 times size.
    Settings:
    New marbles added every 60 seconds.
    Ball size limit is 10000.
    Options: Multiply, Release Charged Shot, Release Burst Shot
    Four colors competing:
    Cyan, Yellow, Green and Magenta
    Which colour will win?

    I'm not sure if keeping the "territory slow" effect is worth it, because burst shots seem to be more powerful than them charged shots when kept active. A lot of charged shots just drain themselves until they are small enough to stay on the map. And they can also be pushed easily by smaller shots.
    Let's have a scenario: A charged shot somehow gets stuck on an enemy's territory because it got slowed while it was approaching their base. When another player's charged shots were released, it pushed the charged shot to the enemy base it was initially targeting, which never really eliminated the threat of it being stuck there in the first place.
    Compared to my slow effect that you implemented, where charged shots would be slowed when approaching an enemy's base, it seemed to go faster again when it isn't anymore. Idk what problems it caused, but I was fine with that setting, because no shots would actually be stuck, unless that charged shot is a deathstar..?
    If it was a normal M/R w/o the burst shots it'd be fine ig.

      The previous slowdown was a bug jaggy, and I wanted to try this thing of territory having its own "momentum" in a sense, I'll probably revert in the next one, or try a different type of slowdown.

    It's a good video, I liked It, but why are the shoots so slow? Most of them hardly moved... Sorry for my poor english, and thanks a lot for made this kind of videos. My family and I enjoy so much ☺️

      The shots are slow because of a new mechanic I added which causes shots to be pushed away whenever conquering territory. This is a constant amount of force so big shots can still penetrate deep into the territory while shots in size 32-64 usually come to a stop.
      I'm experimenting with ways to increase tension by not having players die too easily due to incoming shots - if the shots are slower, it gives them some time to react and potentially defend themselves.

      @@lostmarbles2d I don't know if was you or another one who makes the shot slower the more they get close to the other player's cannyons. Or perhaps you can do what you do, but reducing velocity more slowly. Hope I explained well...
