    1) Lesboa - Lacerda’s remake of Lisboa. KS includes two lesbians.
    2) The Kitchenist - Lacerda’s remake of the Gallerist. KS includes deluxe 2 inch thick mahogany board for chopping broccoli.
    3) Escape from Lacerda - Lacerda’s preemptive remake of Escape plan. Will be released before Escape plan. Your goal is to escape a prison that only stocks Lacerda titles in their board game room.
    4) Vinhos 3 - Lacerda’s remake of Vinhos 2. KS includes a crate of real wine so you can get drunk instead of playing the game.
    5) Kantban - Remake of Kanban. You play Immanuel Kant working in a car factory. Your goal is to figure out how you got this hellish job, learn the rules of Lisboa during your 15 minute breaks (hard mode), debate philosophy with your boss until she admits defeat and gives you her job, escape the car factory, open a vineyard, then fart a lot until climate change creates another ice age.

    Thanks for the mention of Dice Settlers, I can't wait til we get to reveal more to the world! :)
    Two small additions:
    - Petrichor was mostly designed by David Chircop (known for Pursuit of Happiness), it was his baby, I just helped :)
    - I have another new game hitting KS soon: Nights of Fire, a sequel to 2016's Days of Ire: Budapest 1956.
    Hope you'll like all I have planned :P

    I happen to live really not far away from the co-designer/publisher of Black Angel. I (very happily) took part in a play test game, now that the game is now in a polishing/adjustment phase. If you loved Troyes, you will adore Black Angel. It's streamlined but has some more meat to it. Don't know anything about the campaign play, just the core gameplay. I had a blast playing it, it's thinky, the threat system is really good, the tech system is just awesome...

    Nice Lists, I think I agree most with Jeremy's list. I want to give my top 6 in alphabetical order:
    Artificial Intelligence (Nuno and Paulo and WYG? with a cool theme and apparently a particularly economic focus)
    Brasil
    Brass: Birmingham
    City of the Big Shoulders
    Escape Plan
    Sands of Time
    and Black Angel, Founders of Gloomhaven, Teotihuacan, Tokyo Metro as runners up. It already looks like 2018 could be an excellent year for new games.

I'm also really excited to hear more about Treasure Island from Marc Paquien with the gorgeous art from Vincent Dutrait.

    FYI Jeremy... The Voyages of Marco Polo was actually designed by the same two guys that made Tzolkin. They have also designed Council of Four and Dungeon Bazar together, but unfortunally those two games was published by Cranio Creations, which means bad components.
    Council of Four is however getting a CMON release this year...

    Teotihuacan by Daniel Tascini is not the designer's first big game since Tzolk'in. The latter was designed by Daniel Tascini and Simone Luciani and published in 2012. They collaborated again for The Voyages of Marco Polo in 2015. Since then Simone Luciani has also co-designed Grand Hotel Austria (2015) and Lorenzo il Magnifico (2016). In my opinion, all 4 games are excellent, with Marco Polo being the best.

    • @aweso
      @aweso 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I too was surprised that Jeremy didn't realize that and I came here to comment on it (especially considering his later Egizia comment). Though my favorite of their games is Council of Four, in spite of it being a good amount lighter than I usually prefer my games. It's not as well known as the rest of theirs, I think mostly because it was originally only released in Europe (or at least, outside the US). CMON was supposed to have brought a new edition out some time in 2017 but it seems to have been delayed to this coming year. Also the new version has one of the worst cover illustrations I've seen and is full of unnecessary miniatures (it is CMON we're talking about). I'm really glad I found my Cranio Creations edition.

    I really don't have that many anticipated games tbh. But that Black Angel game sounds so cool and it's prob one of the few that I'm really interested in. Kinda weird name though. Expansion for Lorenzo is a must-have, so are the new islands for Feast for Odin. But there's still a lot of games from 2016 and 2017 that I haven't played so I'm okay with this year being "just okay" (like 2017 was for me) since 2016 probably goes down in the board gaming history books as one of the best years ever.

    • @Nain1982
      @Nain1982 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, i feel the same, and I'm also really excited about Black Angel and hopefully the Targi english expansion and Inis expansion (I don't know if it's meant to be released this year but I hope). Unlike many people, I don't think 2017 was that great of a year. There were good games but still felt it wasn't the best. I haven't played Ale & Ale yet and some of the other big Essen Releases (Agra, or pandemic season 2). So far, I can say that Santa Maria and Jumpdrive were my favorite, and Quest for El Dorado (hoping the mini expansions for that come soon).

    I just played "The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31" and your description of "Who Goes There?" is exactly the same as what happens in "The Thing: Infection at Outpost 31" Board Game. Right down to getting on the helicopter and making sure no infected get on it.

    • @adamd.harris823
      @adamd.harris823 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it's pretty different. Same theme, albeit one based on the movie and one on the book, but in my opinion Who Goes There has a more interesting approach to the idea

    • @zakkchambers263
      @zakkchambers263 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed, I thought the same when i saw Outpost 31, from what i have seen, Outpost is slightly broken as the Thing does not get to do much and can be easily stopped, where as i think in Who Goes There it is more hidden and not as obvious as to who it will be etc

    Hopefully someone comes across this...what do they mean when they say legacy games? I can hear the cash being sucked from my account already!

      Vibrating Bilbo ‘Legacy games’ are games that have a big story arch that occurs over multiple sessions. Sometimes requires you to alter the components or save components till later sessions. See Pandemic Legacy.

    Surprised Fireball Island New edition didn't make any lists. Maybe if it was stretched to top 10

      Yep! I honestly have no idea what the new edition will bring that changes it from the original.

      It was not on any of our lists most likely because we have all played it. It is a good game and we all enjoyed playing it.

    Who goes there seems very interesting, it's a shame it has a cartoonish style, ruins some of the atmosphere of the game for me...

    Why does Jeremy look so tired and bored?

    • @meeple
      @meeple  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I 100% blame James Hudson on the tired thing...he kept me up until almost 4:00 in the morning and I got about 5 hours of sleep in 56 hours. Was awful.

    HATE was funded but it’s not doing well at all. Really disappointed by the play field.
