Hey! I've the opportunity to get the same, but haven't tried it yet. I need a LIGHT amp where the 2 ODs(second and third) have enough gain to where I don't need any pedals. Whatcha think?? Ty!! Jon
This guy is so good EXPLAINED AND SHOWED EACH CHANNEL AND EFFECTS MINE IS 100 SERIES .. THE 50 SERIES SOUNDED BETTER WHEN HÈ PLAYED IT.. MAÈSTRO THANK YOU SO MÙCH
Oh boy, hope you're playing gigs with 500 people in it, otherwise the 50 watts would have been a better choice. I made the 100 watts mistake before, and all gigs had the sound guy use mics, resulting in everybody playing at 9 o'clock, lol.
I recently scored this amp secondhand with the Stompware 4-button footswitch for $229! My grab-and-go rig with 24" pedalboard with amp FS, 6-Band EQ, Joyo Vintage Overdrive, and Morley Maverick mini-wah. My only complaint is that Damping switch makes the amp too boomy with Master > 2. Wondering if a speaker upgrade would fix that.
i´ve got a roland microcube rx that cost me more or less the same than that amplifier costs but marshall sounds really really better! I MUST BUY IT AAAAAAH!
The MG30 shouldn't be compared to the 50 or 101. The OD1/OD2 channels are much quieter than Clean/Crunch. They fall apart before being loud enough for a rock band setting.
I just picked up this amp it’s awesome. Quick unrelated question though - at around 4:08 when demoing the OD2 setting you/he hit the note in that way that makes it kind of ‘ring’ in a higher pitch. I’ve been playing the guitar for 25 years and I don’t know what that’s called so I’ve never been able to ask anyone or even google or search TH-cam for how it’s done. Can anyone help? I’ve done it accidentally quite a few times but never worked out how. Thanks 🙏🏼
I recently bought the MG30GFX 1x10 combo, and I'm finding it too quiet on the OD1/OD2 channels; it just don't get loud enough to hear over a 5-pc drum kit. Would the 1x12 MG50GFX or MG50GFX/CFX be enough of a change, or should I try for the 100W combo instead? Yes, I know the MG30's Clean channel is loud, but I don't want to use the amp as a pedal platform. I bought the MG combo specifically to use as a simple, lightweight "grab & go" solution for small venues where my 100W head and 2x12 cabinet is overkill.
@@DerpRulesAll In theory--with a well-designed, modern PA with adequate monitoring--the MG30 would do the job. But the one gig where I played the MG30FX, was a dive of a venue and we didn't get much of a soundcheck. I ended up getting the MG50CFX and it does fine. When playing with my new band, we have our own PA and always get the monitor mix dialed in fine.
Julia Hang first choose the channel you want . press the damping button until the store button gets red. Then make your settings and press the store button. After that and when you will finish with the settings in the 4 channels, press again the damping button so that the store button will not be red and you are ok
@Samashdirect Hello, I just bought this amp and I had a question… Whenever I switch from either Crunch or OD1/OD2 to the Clean channel I am noticing that the Clean channel is very much louder than any of the distortion channels. Also when I engage the FX (either from Clean or Crunch/OD) it also increases the volume significantly. I have tried playing with the Volume & Master Volume but have had no luck in creating a same level volume for Clean, Crunch/OD & FX. Clean and FX always make the volume significantly louder when switching to them. Is there a way to accomplish this? Thanks so much!
Try to find your favorite sound en each channel and store it with the volume you want...for example I stored clean in volume 5 and then crunch in volume 8...so you adjust the volume as you want.
Hi guys, I just want your opinion on the amp. I have heard bad things about sound quality and such but I'm heavily thinking on getting one after this review. I understand the amp has been about for a while. I'm so conflicted in what to do.
Brolymas love the amp and same problem it’s not actually a problem mess around with the store and tempo buttons on different channels and tap the tempo button twice for different delay timings for your solution
@@cannibalcorpse6664 I didn't understand, i put the Ov channel and i press the delay button but nothing happens there. At the beggining was perfect with a very good sound but now i can't play with delay
pause 1:56 does that look like a gibson les paul to you? pause at 2:06 does that look like a les paul shape to you? no, the upper part when the switch is located has a different shape than traditional les pauls.
This is not really a modelling amp. I think they (Marshall) try in general to get the best of both worlds, vintage plexi sound combined with more modern lead distortion when it comes to their latest solid-state range. JCM800 / valveless!!!
I got myselve this amp but the 100 watt version and i must say im very unhappy with it for rock and metal it might be the thing but for anything beside this you can forget it Playing solos with it is quite unpleasant cause its hard the get the notes to breath with a clear expression while u play Still quite decent effect section But in my opinion not worth the money
Marshall amps are the best amps on the planet.fender.vox.amps are shit.I am very prejudice when it comes to amps.if it does not say marshall on it I will not plug into it
to be fair he does have the bass knob a little high so you could probably dial that out, plus the gain's pretty high as well so that might not be helping matters
This amp left a good impression on me, I was very surprised!
Great sounding little amp, great crunch! Best of all light weight, keeps me from lugging my ‘65 Twin to rehearsal every week.
Great review! You presented this Amp in a clear straight forward manner. Thank you very much!
You sir have just sold me one of these.
I am now sold on getting the 100hcfx head with cab after this review.
Just got the MG102Gfx. Pretty much the same. Love it

his reaction when he plays the reverse delay x) haha great amp here. this demo really pushed me over the edge to possibly get it :)
im sure the tap works for the other effects as well , I have the 2by 12 100watt version
I personally hear a better OD/distortion coming from these newer carbon fibre ones?
Just got it today $529 Aud.. very good still learning how to utilize the functions.. 100 watts
Is you Marshall amp still to your satisfaction? I have ordered a Marshall MG101CFX and I'm worried

I have the exact mg50cfx for 9 years and still going strong 💪🏽. Except for my cheap 200 dollar epiphone lol
Beautiful Demo man
Very good demo. Thanks
What is the difference between the MG carbon fiber and the mg4? is it just the appearance or is there tonal differences?
What is the difference between this MG50cfx and between the MG50fx?

I have 100 Mgfx now I know q little knowledge how to use it.thanks Dude.

For a Marshall s/s, I'm impressed 👍
Can you tell which one got a better sound in compare between the Marshall MG 30CFX or the MG 50 CFX or the MG101 CFX ??? Thank you

This combo is amazyng!!!
I would recommend a BOSS Metal Core distortion pedal. That's what I use with mine, absolutely top notch :)
Where can I get that Marshall flag????

Hi, its call Artificial Harmonic, hit the string with the thumbs and pick in the "same" time. Search in TH-cam for videos.

How'd you think a 30 watt amp would be heard over drums, is what I want to know. Even 50 watts would be a tough order.

too bassy and too muddy on overdrive this does not sound good at all.
what amps do you play with?
the crunch channel sounds good, but for the overdrive, especialy the OD-2, you're right.......however, i have this amp, and it's not so bad.......
