A tip for people still watching this in 2019, make sure your space is not TOO BIG for the amount of people coming, 50 people can look like a very small group if your location is as big as a gym. If the party is at your house, think about the amount of people coming and then see whether you should for example only use your living room, or maybe the living room and yard. Normally too many people are better than too little. I've had a party where 80 people showed up while I was expecting 50, but it still wasn't too crowded. Too much space makes people sit with their little group in a corner and not be as social.
