Coming back to this in 2023, the game really is gorgeous and a lot of fun. I honestly wonder why they didn’t use this game’s engine for the DP remakes.
Honestly, they're still the best-looking Pokémon games on the Switch lol.
I actually got it day one but finished it Summer of this year. It was great, I even beat the elite 4 with a shiny team.✨️

I get what you mean, they could have did that differently by allowing for adjustments with your character's appearance. Another problem is that they need more natural hair and eye colors. My eyes look like a dim shade of green and my hair is a mix between dark blonde and red, but they lack anything close to that.

I just got Let's Go Eevee last week, and I'm loving it! I honestly love what they did with the game and would love to see them do Let's Go version of the rest of the games. I think a Let's Go format for Johto would be amazing!

About Green (the girl) being in the games, she’s not originally from the manga, well it’s a bit confusing. In the original RGBY games, in some promotional art there was a female trainer that was shown, and was suppose to appear in the original games, however she was removed from the games, before the release of the games. ( I can’t remember the reason why) The manga itself is based off the characters from the original games, so I believe green was based off the unnamed female Pokémon trainer. You can kinda say that green did appear in the games as Red’s female counterpart in FRLG, and I believe she was suppose to appear in SR or emerald as an extra battle, but got stripped from the game before release. I kinda hope this helps you understand the history of green a bit? She has a confusing history, but I’m glad to see her in lgpe.
i think she wasnt added to rby simply due to data limitations. they couldnt fit her, like they couldnt fit oak as an official battle.

I made a 3d model of Mimikyu for my school exposition. It was quite easy to make actually. The tail was kinda the pain in the butt when I made Mimikyu.
This is the first Pokemon game I am struggling to find interest to finish. It`s just too dull and limited. I really wanted to be wrong about it, but I`m glad to see others having so much fun with it.

I felt the same way about Ultra Moon. I played it off and on for about a year before I finally got around to finishing it. Just too many damn cutscenes and forced dialogues for me

I understand your frustration. Im happy to see people enjoy this game, but I myself struggle to keep up with it.
JaggarZF I think it’s an expectation issue, everyone comes into the game with different views and biases and that affects how you judge a game, it’s not gonna work for everyone
1:42 - 1:49 I completely agree. It had been a very long time since the last time I bothered to catch anything besides my main team and legendaries, everything else I ignored. In Let's Go every time I reach a new route I make sure to catch everything I don't have yet before moving on.

Just a quick note, it'll be nice to see the graphics of the next game. They said they kept the graphics a bit more cartoon-y for this game, and next game is going to be a lot more realistic, so it'll be nice to see a Pokemon game with full Pokken graphics, at Let's Go size accuracies.

why did Pokémon GO and Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee take lessons from Ash for how to catch Pokémon?! YOU NEED TO FIGHT THEM
The funny thing is that the Ash in the latest movie literally says "You want to catch it, you have to battle it first!" when they have to catch an Eevee lmao
It is kind of ridiculous that a living potential weapon of mass destruction just stands there and lets the ten year old repeatedly throw balls in an effort to catch him.

kinda makes sense for madoka to be eevee since in the anime it takes madoka a while to actually make a contract... evolve, if you will
A wonderful review! It's good to know that you enjoyed the game so much! I love it as well and am very optimistic for the new generation 💖 I'm also just worried for how pokemon from let's go will be able to be transfered to the future games, considering all these sick candy-enhanced stats, legendaries and shinies that would flood the gts...
My single biggest problem with this game is the price. What about this game demands a full $60 price tag? I'd be all for paying full price for a brand new pokemon game that expands on the series in many ways, but this game is a massive step back from Ultra Sun and Moon in a lot of ways. There's way fewer pokemon and moves, almost every feature from other Pokemon games is absent, and the game adds little to nothing to the original story of Yellow.
Sure, the game is more simplistic and is easier to access for a casual audience, but if simplification means making the same gameplay but gutting most of the content, how in the world can you justify making the game MORE expensive? This definitely should have been a $40 game.
If it's a Nintendo game, you have expect it to be 60 dollars.

@@cliffturbo2146 That doesn't make any sense. Switch games have been released with physical copies that cost less than $60. Pokemon games have always costed $40 because they were on handhelds which were usually that price. Some games, like HGSS even came bundled with accessories, still for $40. Even Pokemon Colosseum and XD were only $40 despite being home console games containing new mechanics, every attack and more, and every pokemon up to Gen III, even ones that didn't normally appear in the game's story.
Pikachu and Eevee feature only a fraction of pokemon and a handful of moves while completely omitting abilities, held items, and EV's. The game has little to no story. All it has to show for its price are its broken motion controls. I would rather pay $60 for an HD port of Sun and Moon than something so minimalistic.
That's not to say I don't like the idea of a more simplistic Pokemon game, but making one and charging *more* for it is just absurd.
So the work put into designing the 3d models, environments, etc. is worth only $40 to you?
@@I_was_a_Bullfrog Those 3D models were ripped straight from Sun and Moon. (And again, Colosseum created *original* 3D models for each of the 134 Hoenn pokemon but still costed only $40.) All that's new there are the walking animations which evidence suggests was already planned and in development for Sun and Moon. And the environments in Pikachu and Eevee are barebones compared to the environments in Sun and Moon and even Colosseum and XD.
So yeah, I'd say the minimalistic environments and new models for human characters and new animations for less than 20% of all pokemon is worth about $40 considering Sun and Moon put in so much work into creating 85 completely new original designs for pokemon along with every previous gen pokemon and no omissions, all with unique animations and interactions for Pokemon Refresh, an entirely new world full of incredible detail, a unique approach to the standard formula, all-new modes and mechanics, including animations for 29 different Z-moves and costed that amount.
This game honestly just feels like a scam meant to cash in on the popularity of Gen I and Pokemon Go.
The ending cut scene for black and white is great too.

Why do so many complain about the graphics?
Yes, it doesn’t compare to the ‘breath’ taking graphics of Breath of the Wild and the ‘oddities’ of Mario Odyssey (I’m sorry, I had to)
But compared to the previous games, where the last had so many pixels you could see, and wasn’t as polished (for a 3DS game however, the graphics were awesome), these are the best graphics in Pokemon so far. At least appreciate how colourful Kanto is made out to be, the character models and some redesigns, the game was aimed towards casuals, so casuals will buy games whose graphics are appealing and good-looking.

Maybe it's because these games look like a pair of unfinished GameCube projects, which is inexcusable for a pair of games on the Switch. Not to mention they have lag issues up the ass and tend to crash a lot.
Because they should look better, don't settle for less.

I thought the catching mechanic was inaccurate until I realized I was doing it wrong. It’s not the direction you aim, but the direction that you move the joycon when in the throwing motion.

I'm a semi-casual Pokemon fan, but I've never played Pokemon GO. (I've downloaded it before, but I could never get it to work.) And since this game is really just meant to get Pokemon GO players into the main Pokemon games, I think I'll give Let's Go a skip. I like the idea of no more random encounters, but things like the revamped wild Pokemon encounters is a big deal for me, since I actually like to battle the wild Pokemon. (At least when I feel like it, but that's what Repels are for.) I'm also not terribly fond of the removal of abilities, held items, breeding, and stuff like that. I'm very well aware that none of those were in Gen 1, but neither were Alolan forms, Mega Evolutions, and Shinies. Although the removal of the 3 things I mentioned were likely removed to make the game less competitive and/or complicated. And even though the starter Pikachu and Eevee are really cute, the fact that you can't evolve them into something likely stronger is a bit of a bummer for me. (Again, I know it was like that for the Pikachu in Pokemon Yellow.) And all the Gen 1 pandering is starting to get a bit old. I definitely don't hate Gen 1, but it's starting to become a little much. But I get it if the Pokemon developers decided to remake Kanto because Kanto is their most well-known region, with the most well-known Pokemon. As much as I love Pokemon, this Pokemon spin-off game just isn't for me... It's definitely not something I'd be willing to pay $60 for, and I'd much rather wait a year for Gen 8. But if you love the main Pokemon games, Pokemon GO, or even both, and are planning on playing this game, I hope you have fun.
You’re not missing much, for all the reasons you mentioned and then some. I bought the game this week, and It’s just so painfully easy, and I feel like I just paid $60 for something that, in reality, has a $15 value. It feels so stripped - no abilities, no held items, only about 1/8 of the pokémon you can get, less moves, and there’s really no plausible way to have competitive battling. No wild pokémon battles is huge for me, because that was part of the challenge AND the fun for me. I know they added in walking animations, but people wanted that as an extra cosmetic option like in HGSS, not as a replacement for 10 different other mechanics. That alone and the better graphics (that are still quite disappointing for a switch game) don’t really make up for everything that’s lost. What’s worse is that they’re trying to paint Let’s Go as a main series game, when there’s no story expansion and only 2 new pokémon that aren’t even that interesting. It’s just a game meant to pander towards Go players, but even Go at least has pokémon up to Gen 4 and kind of encourages you to go places. Go players aren’t going to spend $400 on both a switch and the game just to introduce themselves to an easy pokémon game when they can buy a 2ds and pokémon ultra moon/sun for $120 or cheaper. It just feels like such a waste of money when the game just feels like an appetizer.
@@TheMurrmursonbottle YES, I hate that Pokemon is treating this game like it's a huge and expansive main series game, when it's really just a watered-down Gen 1 with enhanced visuals. I guess they're just advertising Let's Go so much to try to persuade more Pokemon GO players to get it. But personally, if I want to play Gen 1 Pokemon, I'd just play R/B/Y or FR/LG.

I havent played Pokemon Let's Go, but I've seen a playthrough of it and it looks like a really fun game to me. I think the new way you encounter wild pokemon and catch them really fits the slogan "gotta catch em all". In the regular games, you (or at least I) only catch the pokemon I'm gonna use on my playthrough but training your pokemon by catching wild ones should gives you more of a reason to catch them.
I'm a bit disappointed that they left abilities out of the game. I can understand they did that because there weren't any abilities in the original Pokemon Yellow but sniny pokemon also didn't exsist back then and they still added those. Not saying I didn't want Pokemon Let's Go to have shiny pokemon but I think it's weird because they added features like: shinies, fairy type, mega evolution and alolan pokemon, but decided to not add other features like abilities, held items and Z-moves.
Either way, Pokemon Let's Go looks like a really fun game and if I had a switch I definitely would have bought the game! And I can't wait to see what they do in Gen 8 with these graphics.

Okay, back to Pokémon, I'm glad to see that you enjoyed it. There's been so much hate on it recently, but I feel like that's mostly because of people not realizing what the goals of making these games were. I don't own any kind of console, so I'll never be able to play it, but I'm having so much fun watching others play it so it makes me happy to see others liking it too!

I didn't play these games bc of "again Kanto" but i love so much the graphic, it's the best for me, i like the cartoon vibe and the lights. I like a lot the characterization that following pokemon have and that they stay behind you, not like in the new games

I am only at the 6th gym and my entire team is over level 70 ,because of one training/chaining/shiny hunting session for one hour . And by the way I've chained Psyducks and got two shiny ones . This is kinda ridicules . These games are made for challenges . Sorry for my bad english.
This game's *supposed* to be eaisier than the main series games. It's for new players to be eased into the idea of pokemon battling, so when the next game comes out Go players aren't caught off guard by how hard the game is.

You did a chaining sessions. You literally farmed exp points for one hour. Obviously your pokemon leveled up fast. One hour of training it's a lot even in pokemon red

Honestly, neither rival is great. My favorites are basically every rival in gen 5. Each of them has great character development, and have a purpose to be with you. It's great.

Some of the biggest evidence of alternate universes existing- besides all the times it's straight up said in the games- is with the villains in pokemon masters ex.
