Yugioh deseeves an actual remaster, not an upscale. I will do a master study of one of the openings next year and remaster it to fullscreen while im at it.
@davigabriel783 a remake would obviously be the greatest thing. But if they only want to remaster it, then thats fine by me, but please at least animate the black bars and dont just zoom into the footage...
Air Neos first appeared in the duel against Jesse and further appeared in the duel before Jaden turned into the Supreme King, so it cannot be just written off. Also, should we count the Chronicles thing as Yugioh 9 then? Because it's also coming out next year.

I love the season 4 dub speculation. Since the VA for Yubel, Cassandra Lee Morris coincidentally sold signed Yubel cards before the remaster was announced.
I am baffled and confused but hey congratulations to all the GX fans who can properly watch GX updated upscaling and quality. But at the end of the day this was a very lukewarm announcement, it's not bad by any means but it just feels... I don't know hollow I guess 🤷.
I completely agree. My immediate reaction was “meh”. Like nothing new is coming from this so I was really unsure about the hype people have interpreted from it. I’m more just waiting for Jump Festa Day 2.
I read its replacing the current time slot of go rush starting April. If that's the case this might be the replacement we get for yugioh 9. On one hand im glad gx is getting some love as i do like the series. On the other hand really a remaster...if it ends up being the current replacement for Yugioh 9 couldn't they have at least do some changes to give some better treatment to some of the characters that could've used it: Alexis, Bastion, Chumley, Kagemaru, and Blair to a name a few. I also like Atticus, Professor Banner and Darkness but they also could've been done better.
If the weekly anime is taking a break then that wouldn’t be the first, that was when we had 6 months between VRAINS and Sevens. I think it’s fine if they are, it gives time to plan out the next one and get ahead on animating. Weekly anime is hard work
I was kinda miffed at this, it's not even like a dragon ball z kai "situation" where they improve the dialog/trim the filler episodes etc from the og release. i would be surprised if they even updated the card frame/arts used in the duels (baring anime ones) and take out the unnecessary parts. but more importantly if this remaster also comes in english dub...... they have no excuses to not bring us the season 4 dub
I can see them changing Air Neos’s name in the show to avoid any issues, and then reprinting the card with that new name to increase hype/sales. But damn, an OVA or movie would’ve been so sick. Let KENN cook 😭
@ if I remember correctly, it’s because there’s an Italian airline that’s also named Air Neos, so Konami is trying to avoid copyright issues. Or something like that.
As much as I highly enjoyed GX growing up. For Konami to be returning to GX in some form is kindof surprising to me. I just hope we get a proper movie like we did with Dark Side of Deminions with the og crew for their anniversary but with Duel Academy n the gang eventually. Which I am so hoping we end up getting. Honestly I find it making sense to upscale the resolution of the current GX though in this day n age.
I doubt that’d happen since Dark Side of the Dimensions was a follow up/sequel to OG Yu-Gi-Oh’s manga not anime. So if they made something similar for GX it would be for GX’s manga which is much different from the anime.
Also that go rush stream was one of the worst streams ive ever watched. Twenty minutes to watch a recap episode that was already shown a week ago when it first aired and then another like twenty minutes for a slow duel and no talk about the new looks they shown in the breaking news panel.
@@YugiohEverything honestly I could see it being cool if they did Jaden vs Yugi again with updated decks and new animation to keep giving the old shows some love.
Also worth mentioning that there were a lot of spots in the duel monsters remaster where it looked very choppy, especially in the in-between shots where there's motion blur. I also don't think they actually remastered most of the original series, only some arcs.
For me it’s not really cool mostly as it appears (for now) to be JP only. (I guess people might post it online for English streaming) but still. Not really scuffing for me personally.
@United4Eternity The hype is because of what Dylan said. People are misinformed and think this is a "remake" where they're reanimating everything which isn't actually the case
Searching in Japanese, I don't see anything about a start day or time. I think this taking over Go Rush's time slot is just a rumor right now. GX originally aired in 2004 at 7:30 AM. The DM remaster aired on Saturday mornings at 7: 30 while Arc-V aired on Sunday evenings. The GX remaster doesn't necessarily mean a new anime can't air.
Im kinda sad to see this many ppl not being happy about this, yes i am gx fan at fullest but still its 1 of 3 OGs being updated so im happy even if it ends up being just sub, there is also thing that i think you forgot about, now they have their own KONAMI studio for animation? I dont see them remastering it on the same level as they did 10 years ago with dm in other animation studio... Chronicles are short montly episodes and there is no chance that is only thing their new studio will work on, right?
I am so very disappointed about the people who are disappointed by the lack of news. I have been a Pokemon fan for a exceptionally long time and I totally get the frustration because many people in the community were expecting news about Pokemon ZA which didn’t happen and caused a lot of people to be disappointed. I am one of those people who haven’t seen the Japanese version of Yu Gi Oh GX which I don’t even mind seeing the remaster. Yes, it would of been great to see newer content from popular IP because there are some people who would be interested in that and fans in Japan might have different opinions on this and animation is a lot more difficult than most people realize and Rush Duels are very popular in Japan, so I assume that something will be announced eventually but the lack of news feels confusing. I can’t say that I am surprised or disappointed because my expectations were severely low but more confused is the best way to summarize it, pretty sure that Japan enjoyed the panels more than us!!! 🤣
The only cool and interesting thing that will come from this GX Remaster: the situation of Air Neos (will he be censored or removed in this Remaster?) But I agree that if they wanted to do something special for GX, I think new content would have been better (A Movie or an OVA since the latter is a possibility thanks to the new Animation Studio)
I feel the same as you Dylan and I'm really upset. I was hoping that we would finally get yu gi oh 9 at jumpfesta but that didn't happen and it was very disappointing. Konami really isn't paying attention to the yu gi oh franchise as it should be.I hope we get what we are waiting for on the second day.
Ah, a remaster of Duel Monsters GX! That is totally cool and all, I guess. Yeah, not particularly excited. Besides editing in some additional fitting episode footage into opening 1, the remaster of Duel Monsters was incredibly disappointing(they really just overbrightened some shots and poorly recreated some visual effects, while also doing the "funny" 16:9 crop that plagues a lot of anime remasters) and I doubt this will be any diffrent. I guess this is at least confirmation that we CAN still get more stuff related to Gallop era anime, but it is really nothing more.
My dream continues to be that one day us loyal GX lovers get ourselves a movie or anything that would at least show some form of continuation to what happened to Judai after graduation, where he got to in his journey and him reuniting with the other gx cast. I know GX isn't as popular as the other yugioh series but I will still continue to dream 😢
Most people on Twitter thinking it was a remake had my dying I’m surprised you didn’t know about the DM remaster. I didn’t realize it was cropping stuff out. Making 4:3 into 16:9 by cropping stuff out is hot garbage. Just like people hating on Disney+ with the Simpson’s
They never reprinted the card since the first release, and when they made a card that took an scene from one of the openings where Air Neos is in the background they rease it from the pintura but draw all the other Neos fusiones
The MOST this is could lead to is an excuse to Dub Season 4 but that's still not as likely as it sounds, Especially because people seem to think this is a remake of GX and not a remaster which are entirely different things
GX is my favourite ygo anime and my whole childhood basically. So i literally gasped when I saw this. I hope this means more merch and perhaps the re-release of the tag games. But thats probs too much to ask! 😢
Respectfully the potential wasted in this franchise is insane. We don't even get a proper remaster/remake. This is just a cash grab probably, considering Rata once said that GX reruns had more views than 5D's back in the day. I hope Day 2 announces something new.
I really expected them to go up to yu-gi-oh 10 atleast before possibly ending the anime. Part of me thinks (hopes) that they didn't announce anything cause yu-gi-oh 9 might spoil the end of go rush and that's why they didn't announce it now
Yugioh GX remaster will only really be worth it if they did it in the same way One Piece is going back to touch up the animation and re-air the Fishman Island arc of that show. I would definitely take a Yugioh GX with redone animation/art (even if it was just touched up slightly). That being said, expecting the lowest common denominator seems a bit harsh. This would be Konami's greatest excuse to dub season 4 at the bare minimum.
Someone explain the Air Neos issue please. Is it like a forbidden card? Did someone kill their brother over it? Did someone divorce their husband over it? (All things that have happened due to YGO cards btw)
The thing is sometimes anime remasters go above and beyond recall the Sailor Moon remaster and no I'm not talking about Crystal not only did they redo the dialogue they dubbed a season that wasn't released overseas at the time to which YuGiOh GX has the exact same issue this might just be me on hopium. Also how are you going to release a yugioh GX remaster when yugioh GX isn't even complete overseas.
This doesn't seem like a true remaster, a HD 1080p 4:3 bluray release. It cropping the original 4:3 to 16:9. Similar to DBZ with it multiple 16:9 crop home psychical release and not giving the fans a real 4:3 HD 1080p physical release.
We need to make stop this ridiculous thing to get "special dishes" for the celerating season instead of new cards. I got made over this around Arc-V. This is a card game show, people are interested in *cards* to be *played* in the *game* and not some dishes that nobody care. This just sounds lazy to me, y'know? Why it is so difficult to make special collections about Arc-V, GX and 5D's instead of wasting food in a franchise that's NOT about it?
I'd be excited for this, if the remaster was actually good. I've seen some 2000's anime getting a Blu-Ray version (Hikaru no Go comes to mind first), where the quality is actually better, not just a pixelfest, and they didn't cut the upper and lower part of the picture, BECAUSE THEY WERE MADE IN 4:3 FORMAT. The Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters remaster looks garbage compared to that. It's uglier, more blurred and almost half of the image is missing.
The most likely theory about the Air Neos conspiracies are that due to complications/mistakes regarding its first appearance being in season 3 that the legal rights to the design are owned by TV Tokyo rather than Konami, which would be why it doesn't appear in OCG/TCG products. Not confirmed, it's just my own explanation that makes the most sense. Theoretically with the entire series being greenlit for a remaster I would think that would mean that TV Tokyo is giving an okay to everything that they legally own which in that case would include Air Neos.
something i've always wanted that i doubt they would do are more filler duels or just involvement from the side characters. gx is still my favorite yugioh show but a fair criticism is that jaden basically gets all the spotlight until s4 where they had a dedicated 2 episode arc to syrus alexis and chazz and their future
Now if only Konami could find the kindness in their hearts to give us season 4 dubbed as part of the 20th anniversary...

I’m happy to see GX get a remaster but if it’s just gonna be a shot for shot remake of the original I don’t know if I would want that. Happy holidays everyone
If we don't get something tonight wether it’s a 9th anime or something else for day 2 of Jump
Festa, I'm gonna be very sad and pissed off.
To bad yugioh 9 is not annouced but i like a gx remaster
I am still very stunned
I@@YugiohEverything i was on the stream i saw that well you be okay
I would say an Arc V remake is needed more, but they’d probably screw that up too. They probably think nothing was wrong with it.
Konami been on let down after let down recently 😅
Not surprised to hear this almost every day.
GX is one of my favorite things in the world, show or otherwise, so to me this is great, even if I won’t enjoy it being cropped. Man, seeing that article say it wasn’t as popular as dm was a given, but not being as popular as 5ds was crazy to me, who knows though.
Yugioh deseeves an actual remaster, not an upscale. I will do a master study of one of the openings next year and remaster it to fullscreen while im at it.
I think Remake is the correct word not remaster
@davigabriel783 a remake would obviously be the greatest thing. But if they only want to remaster it, then thats fine by me, but please at least animate the black bars and dont just zoom into the footage...
Air Neos first appeared in the duel against Jesse and further appeared in the duel before Jaden turned into the Supreme King, so it cannot be just written off.
Also, should we count the Chronicles thing as Yugioh 9 then? Because it's also coming out next year.
You bring up a very good point about Air Neos. I am REALLY interested in seeing what they do about him. Justice for Air Neos!
GX is my favorite YGO and I got excited by this.
Imagine if they decide on doing a movie. That would be beautiful
I was really sad about yesterday’s lack of news, but I feel worse for Dylan than myself. 😭
Hope he keeps his chin up, we’ll all go through no weekly Yugioh (if that’s really the case) together as a community.
you are correct it does appear at the end of the chronos duel. it does mutual destruction with ultimate golem
Here's a the new Yu-Gi-Oh! announcements:

Key Features
- Enhanced visuals for the remastered Yu-Gi-Oh! GX series
- New storylines and characters in Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME: THE CHRONICLES
- Monthly episodes for Yu-Gi-Oh! CARD GAME: THE CHRONICLES, exploring different themes and settings
Honestly. I was thinking that they'll put 'Character Development' to other character's instead of the main character.
I wonder if we'll get a season 4 dub
If the DM remaster did not received a dub , the GX one will not unfortunately
No
I'm just wondering if it will be shown in Croatia because GX is my childhood and it would be nice to watch it again in a better resolution in Croatian
Is probably gonna be Japanese exclusive like the Remaster of DM was
I love the season 4 dub speculation.
HELLS YEAH
GET MY HEROES BACK INTO THE META!
Oh god we might not get heroes support
I never saw how he looks. His voice don't match his face lolol
Weekly anime is hard work
I was kinda miffed at this,
it's not even like a dragon ball z kai "situation" where they improve the dialog/trim the filler episodes etc from the og release.
i would be surprised if they even updated the card frame/arts used in the duels (baring anime ones) and take out the unnecessary parts.
but more importantly if this remaster also comes in english dub...... they have no excuses to not bring us the season 4 dub
I can see them changing Air Neos’s name in the show to avoid any issues, and then reprinting the card with that new name to increase hype/sales. But damn, an OVA or movie would’ve been so sick. Let KENN cook 😭
What is the problem with air neos
@ if I remember correctly, it’s because there’s an Italian airline that’s also named Air Neos, so Konami is trying to avoid copyright issues. Or something like that.
I’m ready for that GX season 4 dub!!!
Right guys!
Right….
You guys do realize the theme for season 4 is really dark... For kids!
@ I feel like battle city was also pretty dark comparatively speaking
20 years later, they'd need a complelely new voice cast
The GX remaster i need are the Tag Force 1-3
WE NEED THE GX MOVIE FR !!
Also that go rush stream was one of the worst streams ive ever watched. Twenty minutes to watch a recap episode that was already shown a week ago when it first aired and then another like twenty minutes for a slow duel and no talk about the new looks they shown in the breaking news panel.
El capítulo No estuvo tan mal
I have 0% of interest for this. I want yugioh 9!!!!
So basically not much happening. Typical gx stuff.
Yep 😅
Yeah it's way more cool sounding than it actually is
@@YugiohEverything honestly I could see it being cool if they did Jaden vs Yugi again with updated decks and new animation to keep giving the old shows some love.
The laziness and mismanagement of Yugioh by Konami never ceases to amaze me.
Also worth mentioning that there were a lot of spots in the duel monsters remaster where it looked very choppy, especially in the in-between shots where there's motion blur. I also don't think they actually remastered most of the original series, only some arcs.
Because it's a remasterization that's why it dosent sound good
Yeah its just an upscaling project
Air Neos also appears in Brron's duel, an extremely relevant duel to the plot.
For me it’s not really cool mostly as it appears (for now) to be JP only. (I guess people might post it online for English streaming) but still. Not really scuffing for me personally.
I'm sure it will be JPN only. That was what they did for the DM Remaster as well which is why alot of ppl including me didn't even realize it happened
I dont get the hype. Its like someone gifting you a pair of socks that you already have. Its new but its the same.
@@YugiohEverything yeah I read an article recommended to me to learn about the remaster and how it’s like the OG Yugioh being JP only.
@United4Eternity The hype is because of what Dylan said. People are misinformed and think this is a "remake" where they're reanimating everything which isn't actually the case
it wasnt. the youtube version was japanese exclusive but when it finished airing we got it on chrunchyroll so its gonna most likely gonna be the same
Searching in Japanese, I don't see anything about a start day or time.
Konami Studio states that now they will be only support for other anime studios. So no anime made by then for a long time
I am so very disappointed about the people who are disappointed by the lack of news.
If it’s necessary to lose 1080p scenes to have FHD image quality and a redub of GX up to the 4th season and Yu-Gi-Oh! GX movies, I don’t mind.
Dm Remaster did not get a DM and was JP only. I don think they will realease a dub of this remaster or a movie
I would have prefer the DM a remaster.
They already did that years ago
@davigabriel783 I didn't know they did.
Why not just animate the manga version?
See THAT would have been freaking awesome!!
Agree
I'll prefer a GX sequel a more straightforward remake or a movie, but hey as long as it's more GX i'm coo with it.
The only cool and interesting thing that will come from this GX Remaster: the situation of Air Neos (will he be censored or removed in this Remaster?)
But I agree that if they wanted to do something special for GX, I think new content would have been better (A Movie or an OVA since the latter is a possibility thanks to the new Animation Studio)
Most people on Twitter thinking it was a remake had my dying
I’m surprised you didn’t know about the DM remaster. I didn’t realize it was cropping stuff out.
Making 4:3 into 16:9 by cropping stuff out is hot garbage. Just like people hating on Disney+ with the Simpson’s
What's air neos did that you think they gonna cut him?
Legal problems due to sharing the same name as an airline.
They never reprinted the card since the first release, and when they made a card that took an scene from one of the openings where Air Neos is in the background they rease it from the pintura but draw all the other Neos fusiones
@FranciscoRamirez-nb4uu we still see the wings though lol
@@jeraldwashingtonjr5641 those aren't Air Neos wings
The MOST this is could lead to is an excuse to Dub Season 4 but that's still not as likely as it sounds, Especially because people seem to think this is a remake of GX and not a remaster which are entirely different things
It will not
GX is my favourite ygo anime and my whole childhood basically.
Part of me thinks (hopes) that they didn't announce anything cause yu-gi-oh 9 might spoil the end of go rush and that's why they didn't announce it now
I just want a new story game
With all of the new HERO support, I'm not surprised GX was gonna be the focus anime wise.
Also, it's only theorized with Air Neos.
I wonder if 5Ds will get a Remaster too
Probably. But it will only in JP like the others
They didn't release the DM remaster outside of Japan, they probably won't do it with GX either
All this just to erase the existence of air neos
Maybe, the remastering of GX means, we are going to have a GX movie like it happened with DSoD
I know that dream is dead and gone but it would be cool if we got the 4th season dubbed but 🤷
This doesn't seem like a true remaster, a HD 1080p 4:3 bluray release.
Saw the thumbnail and title and was getting ready to stay hyped but then my hype went down
Well, you said all that but it looks like people here are still misunderstanding.
They’re probably saving up for the 9th series.
I hope that is the case! :)
If not then Konami have just taken a huge dump on its ENTIRE fanbase
Hopefully they are just stalling for YGO 9 because otherwise this alone is pretty disappointing
I hope so
@ I will be disappointed also if 9 turns out to be ANOTHER Rush story.
something i've always wanted that i doubt they would do are more filler duels or just involvement from the side characters. gx is still my favorite yugioh show but a fair criticism is that jaden basically gets all the spotlight until s4 where they had a dedicated 2 episode arc to syrus alexis and chazz and their future
Maybe tomorrow will be better
A GX remaster similar to Dragon Ball Z Kai would be cool but I doubt that’s what we’re getting
Damn, and here I hoped we'd get some properly remastered Yubel scenes.
