You can surely be proud of your work with the Hybrid Hunter Mr Castledine! They can never take these proven moments away with back to back 10lb catches showing how good it can be for all. Again thank you for sharing both catches with us on FB. Honor to witness it for sure. Again Happy Holidays to you and your family coming up.. Look forward to hopefully a great 2024 to come for you.
Todd, I've got a couple 3700 deep boxes full of old strike pro bubbas. Probably half of them are smooth, such a good color. Props on getting that color made and thank you for figuring out the bubba and bringing it back to the US market via.
Nice fight bro. Some big fish man.I enjoy all the videos and also am a HH fan. This is why i have heard you are the man for over 15 years now.Even in mass. i used to hear your name lol
Bought 5 Strike King Hybrid Hunter Jr's. Off Van Dam Warehouse for $5.99 a piece. I picked the colors that I thought would work on my pond that I bank fish. Going to test them out this weekend. There's grass in the pondI We will see how well it works. Todd has really been hyping this bait up. He said he designed this bait for StrikeKing. He's good but not that good. If I catch a PB when I go! Then I will believe. Most baits catch the fisherman. Not everybody lives in Texas or Florida! Shawn.
Love this bait, don’t have the deal though. My favorite color is the translucent like lavender but the bill broke on it. I need to place an order soon.
Thanks for talking about the whole setup I had that exact question lol. Really cool catching 2 10 pounders within a 2 week span lol. That's gotta be some kind of record
Could anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong that would cause my hybrid hunters to not track straight?? They start out great when new but after catching a fish or bumping through structure it starts to run sideways and kinda rolled over. Any help would be great
I have one of almost every color. Took me the longest to get the smooth. Love them. Only crankbait I have other then a wake bait, a square bill and a couple jerk baits. I'm 65, when I was a teenager I fished with a bait called a scout. They both fish the same, but the scout had a mental bill shaped like a scoop and was made of wood. My saying back then was "when in doubt use a scout". Caught them when nothing else would. It flouted and you could fish it anywhere without getting hung up because of it's tight wiggle and it would float up.
Been throwing it awhile now, fish catcher for sure. My only problem is they all roll to the surface when i try burning them. No amount of line tie tuning will stop it.
Awesome! Caught my PB with hybrid hunter last year using a wake bait like retrieve pre-dawn. Bass go nuts for the HH. This morning pulled a 5+ out an area others just fished & came up empty- I didn’t!
Greetings from the BIG SKY. I only ever got a fish over 10 pounds, a brown trout, once on the Missouri River. Below Holter Dam on the 5th of July in a high water year, 1965, never again.
Very cool double fish of a lifetime for most of us. Thank you for sharing! Could you have entered the Ray Roberts fish in the Toyota ShareLunker program?
By far that Hybrid Hunter is way under rated. It's a lure I rarely see people throwing. I love the smooth color and would love to see it in the XD series of crankbaits by Strike King. I can't find that color everywhere, but when I do I wind up buying whatever I can and putting them up just in case it ever goes away.
Im trying hard to catch one 10+ lbs. Haven't broken that double digit yet. Fish alot big swimbaits which has gotten me all my big bass so far. 2 weeks ago I caught a 7lb 4oz a 5lb 8oz & then a 8lb 6oz which is my new PB largemouth. All on top water & big glide bait. Was awesome day in kayak! One of my best if not my best. I'm curious if fishing out of a kayak keeps the fish pinned a little better? Just having less resistance in water compared to a big boat. You can get pulled around alot more.
Never understood how a person can buy 15 'identical' crank baits, and 1 or 2 of the bunch just catches fish like mad while the rest are just "so-so" or wont catch anything.
Awesome catch & you seem pretty dam calm for catching a 10+ pounder! I'd say extremely rare to catch 2 10's within same year let alone back to back weeks! I'm originally from southwest Ohio so a 10lb bass is basically in heard of. To catch a 5-6lb is excellent. Sense we moved to southern SC I've been catching ton of big bass just haven't broken the double digit yet.
Hey Todd. I started using the hybrid hunter two maybe three years ago from watching one of your videos. I’ve never caught a bass on it that’s under three pounds. Usually the bass I catch on it are in the four pound range. I fish in west Texas where the lakes are usually stained and I’ve done really well with the chartreuse colors. Thanks for telling us about the lure.
For line I use Kastking Flurokote 15 pound test line because the Kastking 15 pound line diameter is the the same as most others 12 pound test line. The reel is a Johnny Morris Carbonlite 2.0 with a 7.5 to 1 retrieve. I have it mounted on a Johnny Morris Carbonlite 2.0 rod that’s 7’3” medium heavy with an extra fast action.
You’re killing me. I live in PA and haven’t seen a 10 since the last time I fished in TX 30 years ago. Kicking it out of gear is the thing to do when you short line a big one, up here that’s usually a Musky.
That's freaking awesome,I have some luck on the hh but I really need to throw it more, people laugh at me when I break it out,and I hope it stays that way, good luck out there
Two years ago I caught em real good on a powerplant lake in Texas in the early post spawn ripping it through the grass, hands down the most vicous bites I ever experienced all 4 to 6 #ers this year not so much. They will do a number on your hooks.
Nice fish Todd. I am still thinking about the day I got to meet you at the gate at Choke Canyon this year when you and Russel won the Team Trail. I wanted to ask you about the Hybrid Hunter but I know you were trying to get down to the ramp to pre fish. I love this bait. Have caught a lot of fish on it since your video 2 years ago brought it to my attention. I am still struggling with it In really super clear water. What color would you recommend for water that has 5 to 6 feet visibility? I all ready have tried the smooth and the oyster. They both work with low sunlight. I need a color for bright sunlight and clear water.
The smooth color works pretty good for me, not my favorite color of hybrid hunter but still works! I had to order my super duty 7’6” MH from the Lew’s website and all they had was the extended split grip but it works just as good as the regular grip one I have! Great rods
Congrats on the catches! A real shame it wasn't during a tourney. Hey, call Hackney and tell him it wasn't a RED crankbait!!! Wish I was there in Texas.
Hey bud awesome double 10's. In your Toledo Bend video, it looked you was yo-yoing the bait instead of a normal retrieve or am I mistaken. Might have to add those to my arsenal.
I will not be upset if people continue to sleep on this bait. I’ve got more fish on a hybrid hunter jr this year than every other bait in my tackle box combined. Has SK considered expanding the color options? Id buy more if they offered a couple new bluegill patterns.
I am 71 and have fished all my life I have always wanted to catch a 10 but I live here on Ky Lake so I only have several 8 pluss. You catch 10's like it's nothing. Good job.
Todd, two 10lbers in a lifetime is awesome. Two over two weekends is out of this universe. Than you for sharing it with us.

HH is my juice. Excellent bait even in open water with limited structure. Just a great bait.
The hybrid has pretty much replaced my crankbaits. Lately been using it like a popper and it even walks like a spook....deadly.

i got a couple of those rods and love them. thinking about getting a couple more. have you used the same rod in the heavy for anything?
Love this bait, don’t have the deal though. My favorite color is the translucent like lavender but the bill broke on it. I need to place an order soon.
Congratulations
Are you using the Jr. or the 1 oz model??
What size hybrid hunter 3 or 3 1/2?The link to the hooks goes to the line instead of the hooks.
Need a Todd Castledine Lew’s Team Signature Series Hybrid Hunter Specific rod. That would be sick
Thanks for talking about the whole setup I had that exact question lol. Really cool catching 2 10 pounders within a 2 week span lol. That's gotta be some kind of record
The smooth color is my favorite, it produces so well for me in Indiana.
Could anyone tell me what I’m doing wrong that would cause my hybrid hunters to not track straight?? They start out great when new but after catching a fish or bumping through structure it starts to run sideways and kinda rolled over. Any help would be great

I like the fact that most fisherman still don't know about the hybrid hunter 😅
My north texas lake has no grass its rock, gravel, and wood. Would you fish the bait any different or choose something else???
I've had it in my box for 2 years, I caught one on my first cast and I haven't thrown it sense. I'm an idiot.....
People are starting to listen….smooth is sold out on omnia 😂😂. Glad i caught on the first time I seen you talk about the hybrid hunter
fighting like a Mahi Mahi
Todd great video thanks for sharing 🎣 & great job on both catches 👏 👍
Damn my boy showing out!!!! Let’s gooo dude congratulations 🎈🍾🎊🎉
Appreciate the overview if the gear you use with it. Makes sense.
Been throwing it awhile now, fish catcher for sure. My only problem is they all roll to the surface when i try burning them. No amount of line tie tuning will stop it.
This bait is money!!!
change out the hooks? and if so to what please?
check out the description and I think I talked about the entire setup in the video
Awesome! Caught my PB with hybrid hunter last year using a wake bait like retrieve pre-dawn. Bass go nuts for the HH. This morning pulled a 5+ out an area others just fished & came up empty- I didn’t!
Is that 1/2 or 1 oz.
👍👍👍👍👍

Dang that is super cool. I ordered a few of these to try out…why not!
Very cool double fish of a lifetime for most of us. Thank you for sharing! Could you have entered the Ray Roberts fish in the Toyota ShareLunker program?
thanks crazy Todd ! The fact that it doesn’t jump and keeps stripping drag, I too, would not think it’s a monster bass. Lol.

Congratulations 🍾. Back to Back Tens is Amazing
Awesome catch and awesome bait.
This is the real deal people
It plain catches em
He doesn't make "click bait videos"
It's been our "secret" for the past few years
I have that same bait, put a feather tail w triple grip hook....won a tournament on it. 1 night tourney
Never understood how a person can buy 15 'identical' crank baits, and 1 or 2 of the bunch just catches fish like mad while the rest are just "so-so" or wont catch anything.
You throwing the 1oz. Hunter? That Smooth color is fire btw!
Can only hope I can get one close to that this weekend on chic. Be happy to break my PB of 7 lbs 1 oz. Keep catching them like that.

Congratulations good fish, thanks for sharing.
👍
What I've learned about this bait is....Copy what Todd is doing, go out and throw it until you start getting bit, this bait WILL PRODUCE.

I already had some of the colors but you convinced me to order the smooth color!
Congratulations… again!!!

Nice... Great bait for sure I've become a huge fan of it.
Unless your around 10# fish youll never catch one. Bait dont matter.
Its never a carp until its clearly a carp. Seen too many sad stories.
Congrats on the catches! A real shame it wasn't during a tourney. Hey, call Hackney and tell him it wasn't a RED crankbait!!! Wish I was there in Texas.
