Honestly I think the third level of Mentor on heroes should add a plus one to what ever type of hero it is. As to your question at 45:00 yes you absolutely can make them invincible. If you get a bunch of heroes with leadership buffs and hide them somewhere you can send a unit with the Da Immortalz banner in and solo any army that doesn't have leadership debuffs with them. I've had them take out two stacks of Dwarfs and end the battle with zero health but all of their units.
-Can someone do me a favor? Launch a current campaign SFO with the new patch and tell me if it works. I don't want to launch steam for the update to corrupt the campaign. Recorded a couple episodes in advance just in case.- Edit: never mind, seems Venris is going to put out an update tomorrow. Hopefully it'll work with that.
@@charlton3478 Yep - lots of comments in the SFO steam workshop thread panicking about it not working and talking about rolling back. Ever since my SFO Bordeleaux and first Chaos campaigns died to mods desynching from updates/each other, I have always pulled my ethernet to wait and see if patch works with new mod update(s).
I like the idea of the Mother Ostankya being a crazy cat lady. Black cats were associated with witches in the middle ages, but had they been snow leopards I imagine less of them would of been burned!
My personal thoughts on the Great Skull Lakes is that it would be a waste to defend it and to let it fall and then retake it. That's the logical idea. My heart says Stalingrad that city. Spend a ridiculous amount of money and effort defending it, break the back of the enemy(Grimgor) and finish him off completely due to his never being able to recover from the effort. Just my thoughts
Pretty much - it's there to serve as a buffer that generates a bit of cash, but isn't important in the grand scheme of things. Uzkulak and the Silver Pinnacle are the important strongholds since their zone of control completely blocks off the mountain passes north and west from the Darklands.
Agreed! I think part of it is also that we moved towards the Darklands rather than towards Norsca, which would have made the campaign easier, but then it would've been exactly the same as a Kostaltyn campaign.
45:00 I vaguely remember seeing someone stack characters with Confident and giving the Krimson Killerz so much leadership that they just couldn't take enough penalties to go below 50%. I can't remember if that was in 3 or back in 2 when Confident was +4 though.
I’m pretty sure that once you hit the end turn button, all of your buildings/research tick by 1, so if/when Grimgor attacks Great Skull even if it’s the following turn, your upgraded walls should be up
49th comment for the algorithm, but man I love your campaigns and have painted a dozen warhammer fantasy miniatures whilst listening and half watching. So thank you Ruinous for the countless hours of keeping me company. Hoping for many more!
@@RuinousInsight I'm currently working on a massive Brettonia army and finishing a very old orcs and goblins army too, since fantasy is my jam and the Old World inspired me to return to the hobby and fulfil a childhood dream of a knightly army.
Fulfil a childhood dream of... oppressing filthy peasants. FTFY Haha, but seriously, felt that childhood dream thing. Love all the bright banners in Bretonnia forces, always screams: come get us, we're right here.
@@RuinousInsight Exactly and it makes for a nice variable painting experience, with lots of different heraldry and colours. They may say that strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. But I digress and my peasants are very expendable, even with out an auto resolve.
39:15 Grimgor attacking Fort Dorznye-Vort is kind of disappointing because I was hoping he would do something sneaky, such as moving an army through the Plain of Zharr to hit either Howling Rock or The Blasted Expanse. Also your best counter to Daemonic factions would be Ice Witches and Frost Maidens with the Lore of Ice because the Frost Blade spell gives a unit magical attacks, which will allow the unit to bypass a Daemonic units 20% physical resistance. Other sources of magical attacks are the Ice Guard, Elemental Bear and Incarnate of Elemental Beasts.
I generally like buff spells, but I'm not feeling frost blades personally. At 12 mana, giving magical damage to just a single unit - you'll do a lot more damage with 2 hailstorms/kisses for the same cost (or just saving for a heart of winter or blizzard). Mostly useful if you already have a single super strong unit to hyper-invest in (like Dazh's Hearthblades or war bears). If the overcast variant was an area buff rather than one unit, it would feel much less niche. In its current state it feels vastly inferior to gust of true flight.
Yes and no - ruins are a pretty good buffer against the AI. It is more likely to declare war on you if you share a border. And we don't need the Festus problem quite yet!
Hmm, I don't believe so. Hard to say if it should - on the one hand, a leader not holding to agreements is bad, on the other hand, it is agreements with other factions, not yours.
I think the flavor/tooltip text is still there because they forgot about it, but the mechanic only works in realms of chaos, not immortal empires. I've gone down to 0 devotion pretty much every time this run and no new chaos armies.

Wdym like a campaign in progress? If so I’ve logged in my 125 turn campaign for dwarves just today and it seems fine to me

Your Ice puns are unBEARable! Do carry on

Haha fair enough. If they had been snow leopards we would've been overrun by witches. And rightly so.
Fear not, Engagement goblin blesses this video
Loving the series keep it up, For the Motherland and the Algorithm!!!
I would love when you confederate boris, you would get power to settle chaos settlements
Agreed! Why would confederating a faction deprive it of their ability to settle in places they previously liked?!
With the amount of Ice Witches to get being extremely low, it would be essential to farm Tamurkhan's defeat trait to increase hero capacity!
Too late it's been patched out.
I am loving the campaign, it seems more hard to snowball than others but i think is more fun to watch this way
Good pun in the title. It was very nICE and COOL.
Throgg just couldn't handle the assault by the forces of Kislev and their many Snow Leopards.

Ive had modding night mares in baldurs gate 3, I’d imagine this is worse given that the game is bigger, file wise
